Glendale Store Worst Customer Service – Walked into today with a faulty item, hadn't been worn, i had asked about bringing it back even though wasnt purchased from that store. Great products, tidy store! – The 3 ribbed crop tees in my closet have all been great - a gentle wash and hang gets them wrinkle free. Also have a pleated miniskirt that is well made/designed. I like the robust fabrics that stretch and dry quickly. A lot of other companies use lower quality fabrics but charge more. Synthetics can often be stronger and more durable, less likely to stain, so I do like them. Show details · 1

Awful customer service – Went in to one store to purchase an item. The sales person failed to mention I couldn’t return the item because it was a sale item. Simple customer service! Went to return it to another store. Had to get a store credit. but scanned cheaper) and the sales assistant made me feel like a huge inconvenience… like it would be such an effort to re-write another store credit for the remainder. So I felt pressured to buy something else. So in the end I ended up spending double, when I should have just been able to return the original item. When emailing customer service I received an automated response and then when I responded, they basically didn’t care.
Worst customer service – Was looking through $10 & under picked a cardigan that looked cute. Was told it was $25 & not $10 & someone must have put in the wrong place. I explained there was more than one & I should get it for that price. If it had only been 1 fair enough. These had been purposely Pur there. What on earth is up with the return policy????? – We shop here sometimes. Occasionally an item for myself but more often for my teen daughter. Unable to find what we wanted instore I purchased a range of items online so that we could try them at home. While returning them to our local store we had the oddest return experience. find the original order on my phone and EMAIL it to them??? I've never encountered this at any other store and it's a bit weird and time consuming. But okay. Surely they now have all my details and can probably just refund straight back to the card without me even having to get my card out of my wallet. No. Not only do they have the entire order with name, address etc on it but you then need to provide all that information verbally so that they can enter it into a different system. Why on earth would you need all that (again) when you literally just made me dig through my emails to send you the original order which has it all printed right there on the front??? What a clunky, time consuming returns process. Have a look at how other stores are doing it Ally. Many of them now just automatically refund the card used on the online order and the whole thing is done in a few minutes. No requirements for names, addresses or even cards to be gotten out of wallets. And what if I didn't have the original email? Is a printed copy of the order no longer good enough for returns? It's all a bit strange.

Dress Purchase – My 11 year old daughter and her cousin went into Ally to purchase a dress with their Xmas money. I waited outside as I had a trolley full of food. daughter bought it as well as her cousin and paid $30 as they felt embarrassed. This would have been an opportune time to mention to them that sale items are non refundable. When they came out to me they were upset. I went into the store to get a refund for them however was told because it’s a sale item - only reduced by $5.99 though… there was no exchange. Only store credit. Called head office, they called the store and agreed no refund. What a sad experience for two little girls who would be future customers. Not ANYMORE! I told them this is a learning experience about how bad and misleading businesses work and it’s a life lesson. Reading other reviews it appears this is a common theme. So sad this is how retail now operates. An absolute joke!

Great teen clothes but payment options is rubbish – Went to buy my daughter some clothes as a gift as she lives in another state snd was told I couldn't pay in cash . and didn't realise that isn't fit on me. so went back to return again this the next morning with tag and original receipt and got told to someone that she cant do anything about it because its been exchanged once and she cant do exchange for the second time. And she rang one of the manager and she gave me an email and phone number I did tried to contact the customer service nothing hear from them what a wasting time and in the receipt says if you change your mind you have 45 days to return or refund your money.

No refund exchange – Drove an hour to visit The Glen store 26/12/22 to exchange an item. We were told no exchanges etc as it was too busy on boxing day. Mind you we were the only ones in the store and the staff were have long a social behind the counter. No sorry we can't help you today, just read the sign. Pathetic service and unprofessional company.
Interesting that a company policy can go against consumer law!!?? We went to another store (not Ally) told them what happened they were shocked as they believe in customer service and their company says it is all part of the service. We will be refunding now instead of exchanging.
We spoke to another Ally store at Fountain Gate who said that the policy was redicilous and they 2anted to be able to help us, but were not allowed.

Was always my go to- NOT ANYMORE – Shopped instore at your East Maitland store, this is normally my local/go to shop for all occasions. correct sizes- passing multiple staff on my way not one asked if I needed help. Finally made my selection at the register I was advised they no longer accept cash. 'THEY NO LONGER ACCEPT CASH' when I asked why they said company policy! A company is no longer accepting hard cold cash. I decided not to make my purchase as i couldn't believe what I heard. In these times any business should be happy to accept any form of payment they receive for goods. I don't have to spend my money but I chose to. Think this needs to change!

mother and grandmother were browsing through the shop and came across some clothes they liked on the discount rack.
The item had a price that was lower than the discount listed and when this was brought to the attention of the staff member, she rudely scoffed and said it was the wrong price and we would have to pay the HIGHER discount price. She was very rude and aggressive and was looking down her nose at us as if she were better than us. After that, she walked away and ignored us. She should've honoured the price that was listed on the item regardless of whether it was wrong or not. The item was on display at that price. Also, she should've been more professional about the situation and taken responsibility for the mistake instead of belittling customers and having a tantrum and walking off.
This was only the beginning of the discrimination we experienced at this store.
Shortly after that awful experience, my mother and grandmother, despite the way they were treated, still decided to purchase the items that they liked. We were standing there for a few minutes waiting to be served, but the staff member simply glanced at us with a filthy look and told the other staff member to serve us instead, so she could continue her chat with another customer. Which I assume they knew each other and were friends from the way they were acting. She would rather have a personal conversation while at work instead of doing her job.
When we were finally served by the other staff member, as she was scanning the items, she noticed one of the items didn't have a tag and told my mother she couldn't return it as there is no tag. (This wasn't a discounted item, it was full cost). So because they haven't put a tag on the item and that is the one my mother picked up, we can't return it. Instead of offering to get another one, the staff member simply said that you can't return it, probably because the staff member just wanted to be finished with us so she could get back to talking as well. Prior to these events, the staff were serving younger customers, probably 30 or younger, and were acting polite from what I could tell. I didn't bother to speak with the staff as I'm a male and thought it would only make things worse given their attitudes. So my take away from this is that if you are over 30, they will show no interest in you and you will be discriminated against in this store and be treated like garbage because of your age and gender. My mother spent over $70 in this transaction, and due to this disgusting display of customer service, won't be shopping here in the future and recommend others avoid this store too.

Terrible Quality! – This store is absolutely fantastic if you want to wear the item once and never again! Clothing always shrinks regardless of how careful I had wash the item! Considering how expensive these items are, to only wear them once and have them shrink and not fit is disgusting. Do not purchase from this company.

Went back to refund the other three in gallery after work, staff [Name Removed] mentions that the store has turned to outlet store where they do not approve of refunds anymore. She asked me to go any other store including Hurstville store besides outlet and provided me with an extension with the approval of her manager [Name Removed] written on the back side of the receipt. No dramas, i agreed to that. Went to Hurstville Ally store on 27/03/22 after finishing my work, extra exhausted as I am on my third trimester of pregnancy. I asked the staff for a refund explaining the situation. The rude staff (who did not provide me her name and thinks herself as Kylie Jenner) working that shift, firstly agreed to it, after she checked the price on the receipt, she said she had to ring the manager, ‘[Name Removed]’. [Name Removed] disapproves the refund. Are they for real? I had confirmed with the gallery store that I will be taking the items to Hurstville store, as it’s close to my address and [Name Removed] had stated that I can take it to any store including Hurstville which is not an outlet and the policy behind the receipt also states that. The rude staff at Hurstville, firstly she stated that extension is not in their policy, secondly that it’s because of different regional managers and finally she said I will have to go back to gallery store. I asked her why the gallery store had mentioned and written that in the receipt, she said she had no idea and her regional manager ‘[Name Removed]’ also refuses to process the refund. I asked her whom can I escalate this situation to, she replied since it’s Sunday, they cannot ring the head office so I have to come back other day for the outcome. Staff there needs to understand, not everyone has so much of spare time as them, and be considerate of others time, as this was my second attempt going for a refund. I rang gallery outlet store, when the staff at Hurstville were supposed to do that. But they did not have any sense of customer service. [Name Removed] received it and I told her I am at Hurtsville for the refund, she says yes they should be able to refund you. I told [Name Removed] that they are refusing to, and she said they would make a call to them. After she made a call, the rude staff spoke with her and she still denied to provide me with a refund as her reason to me was it’s not in their policy. In spite of having the proof and written confirmation on the receipt, it was of no help and total waste of my time going back and forth to different stores. I asked the staff at Hurstville to write the policy she stated and the reason for refusing my refund for reference purpose, she wrote it in a paper with no name or sign. When I asked her to write her name, she denied and refused to provide me her name. If she was that confident about the policy, why was she hesitant to provide me with her name. I told her i need some kind of evidence that it’s you, to make sure that I am not the one myself to be writing the policy down on a blank sheet of paper so I told her I am going to take a screenshot of you and the paper if she does not provide me her name. She tried to snatch my phone and she tore the paper verbally abusing me and said she will be calling the security. Wow!! Her attitude!! Tremendous customer service I had ever experience. I will be taking this to fair trade, if my issue is not resolved. And I would like to request the management to provide customer service skills to their staff or to at least hire decent staffs.
