Poor quality sofa
Sofas arrived with some minor damage, marks on arms from storage etc, took ages to sort out but got it swapped over.
Paid $2,500 for it but 2 years later it’s fit for the bin!!!
-2 out 4 recliner cords have snapped
-corner piece of sofa has totally gone, no weight can be rested against the back, so it’s useless.
- leather look material has bubbled and peeled in many areas
- and seats have sagged so much it’s totally lost it’s shape!!
Didn’t expect to be needing to buy a new sofa so soon!

Very low quality worse than i think after 3 months of use.
Very bad customer service. Answering machine is better than Amart customer service.

Cheap fabric that pills within weeks
The fabric is NOT covered by “quality guarantee “ for a reason. It’s cheap rubbish. Pills in weeks. Don’t buy it! I’ve only had my sofas for 3 months and it looks terrible with pilling! I’m very unhappy. Plus they tell you it will be two weeks wait for your order to arrive so they can score the sale but it really takes 6-8 weeks. Go elsewhere and pay a bit more. Cheaper in the long run.

I would never shop here again, ordered online, says goods in stock, get a phone call nothing is available - 3 week wait time. Now because of their stuff up I have to go into store to get money back - ABSOLUTE JOKE!
Also be aware - on your Receipt says shipping and handling $0.00, oh but wait, the store will contact you later to let you know quote for delivery.
I recently bought a package, the Alida bookcase and desk from the SA Marion store, I paid for my furniture and got told delivery was $80 and that the boxes are really big and wouldn't fit in my car so I then paid for that. I get to my car read my receipt and realised I've been over charged $70 for my furniture, go in get it refunded which was good and an apology and the girls were polite from the start. When my furniture arrived, I noticed the boxes were actually not big at all and could of fit in my car, I'm not going to question someone to as...k to look out the back to see the boxes. So I paid $80 delivery for nothing. I also bought a queen bedroom suite 1.5 years ago and was over charged for a bed side table I was meant to get free in the package, I didn't realise until I was home and read it all once it got delivered. I then called the Amart where I got it from which was Gepps cross and they said they can't do anything and to call Gem Visa and they were no help either. So I now have over paid on things I did not have to with only 1 refund. What a joke.

Outstanding Customer Service
My Girlfriend and I recently made a purchase at AMART Furniture Melrose Park and we had an amazing customer service experience. I myself have a strong retail background and I know that when it comes to sales and commission, sales-people can very quickly be perceived as pushy and can be very uncomfortable- but all the people at AMART Furniture had a very easy going and relaxed approach in the shop. They offered help when wanted and left us space and time to think without interrupting our decision making process.

Hurley sofa Marion Store
Customer service terrible. Very rude man wasn't helpful and ended saying he was sick because he was so rude when I called him out. Very unprofessional. Lounge not delivered as per agreed date, no record on system. Staff blaming warehouse/deliveries. Asked me to call them and got cycled around to store once again. After I organised daycare for children and dog and to be home from work couch was not delivered. I had to call store to follow up delivery time and date which was for a second time delayed without any call. Most unreliable and unprofessional staff we have come across. Customer service blaming their staff for misinformation. They should train their staff better with correct information instead of blaming the customer
Worst flat packed tallboy ever
I purchased the Alexia 6 draw tallboy.
When I got the box home, I realised it was in 27,000 pieces. It required two people with a powerdrill and 2 hours to put together as stated in the instructions.
I rang the store and told them I was not happy with this and should have been told as I am a female, with no drills! and I live alone.
They referred me to a person who quoted me $125 to put together which turns a $299 tallboy into $425. I explained that was not acceptable.
They then arranged to send an employee from the store for $50 to assemble.
I agreed to this. The poor boy spent 2 hours and 45 minutes assembling the drawers. He worked non stop and he knew what he was doing!

Bad quality products even worse service. Do not buy!
Absolutely disgraceful quality of products from Super Amart. Have had several lounges die on me, with very minimal usage as I live alone, it gets used once a week if that, current one 8 months old.
Insides let go springs stabbed through the bottom, luckily not through into me. Melrose Park store said patronisingly "the other side is fine to sit on while you wait."
They said they are sending someone round to re-secure insides, someone needs to read up on ACL!
A product or good has a major problem when:
It has a problem that would have ...stopped someone from buying it if they’d known about it. it is unsafe. Structural failure constitutes a major failure, [name removed] the store manager has advised the phone staff member they are unwilling to replace. BEWARE OF Super Amart!!!
Recently purchased large amount of furniture from Melrose Park SA store. Staff member was extremely helpful. Furniture was delivered on time, only had one piece missing. Called for the piece, I expected to wait for it to come from overseas but the brilliant man in Queensland organised the piece to be sent by express post and received it within a week. Could not fault the service of the staff or quality of the furniture. Would definitely recommend to others.
Can't give nil stars
Called up to update the address on their system as I have been in to their Melrose store before. The 'store manager' who has the worst telephone manner in history took my call. Came across rude from the very beginning seemed like he didn't want to be at work. I explained to him I needed the address changed as someone will be coming in on my behalf to purchase a few items therefore I wanted the delivery address updated. Firstly he wanted my old number which I obviously don't remember, then proceeded to say he can't go any further without a phone...number, I suggested how about you check by my last name? (doing his job for him) it was too much of an effort but he tried... Nothing came up! I explained I have purchased a gem card from them in the past and couldn't understand why I wasn't In the system, it's like he didn't believe me and treated my call as if it was a prank of some sort! Then went on to say how strange this request was, I simply wanted to make life easier for the person who would be coming in to purchase the products for me! I don't understand why that was so difficult to fathom! He told me his last name ends in 'ovski' and his name gets flagged straight away as it's an uncommon name, he couldn't be bothered trying to help me, and provided no solutions to the problem! He then demanded to add me into the system and wanted my details right then and there! but I refused as I will never step foot into that store ever again! There are so many other places you can buy decent affordable furniture from now with better customer service. I'm refurbishing a few of my units and needed cheap furniture packages to update the decor, leaving a family member in charge of the property and design whilst I move back interstate, Not that it's any of your business A-mart.... but just so you DO know, you lost yourself a valued customer who pays on time and has real estate connections who would make good business with you, thanks to the imbecile you've placed as 'store manager' at your Melrose store, who is ultimately running that store to the ground.
Great Service and Products
I brought the settler queen package from Melrose Park. Great sales person and store manager. After reading product reviews about the mattress I purchased I was sceptical but proved to be a winner. Delivery guys fantastic shame they don't take the boxes away though. All in all very happy with everything. Cons putting together the wood bed was difficult on my own. I wish I knew
Order a bed suite and mattress on 7th of feb. Took mattress week later and been waiting for suite ever since. Everytime we ring get a different excuse and a longer wait time. No calls to update having to chase up to find out its gonna be another two weeks. Then to call weeks later to find out another 3 weeks. Get told draws are ready but bed be mid april when we got told 2 weeks ago would be now. Tired of excuses and dont understand why it takes this long and why we get lied to saying it's on a container then its not. Then its just left then again its not its just left.
After Sale Service, WHAT SERVICE?
Having bought a substantial amount of furniture both indoor and outdoor to be delivered to Broken Hill, I left the Melrose Park SA store satisfied. Boy, what a mistake. The salesperson was great, the furniture arrived in time (cost a fortune in delivery though), then the trouble started. A damaged outdoor setting. Rang the store immediately, emailed photos of the damage and was told it would be looked into and called back. No call back. 2 weeks later, rang the store, told the setting was discontinued and the damaged chairs couldn't be replaced....Discussed a solution and was told "I'll get back to you a.s.a.p". No call back. 2 weeks later rang the store. Still no solution, was told "I'll get back to you". What a joke!! Do you get the picture? To cut a long story short, after visiting the store 2 times (from Broken Hill) and 15 phone calls, my outdoor setting was finally picked up for return, 3 months after receiving it. Now all I am waiting for is my refund. What do you think my chances are of getting it before 2015. BUCKLEY'S. I will never enter a Super Amart store again, nor will any of my family and friends.
Suspicions are fading.
Just visited Amart Furniture Melrose park, after looking online and finding the leather lounge that I wanted. Only to be told that the Rumpus wasn't available until mid January. After having a look around the store I found another suitable lounge, and put a deposit on it, the sales girl assured me that this is fully refundable. Included in that deposit was a delivery fee of $99.00. I thought this was high but we do live a long way from the store. After measuring up at home I found the lounge too big for the room. So I rang the store for a refun...d. The sales girl remembered that I originally wanted the Rumpus suite, and asked if I wanted to order one. I said I wasn't prepared to wait till mid January for one, and that perhaps I'd better just get a refund or maybe they could sell me the floor model. She said they don't do that. Then just like magic she said she had found one and I could have it in as little as 48hrs. Well I don't need it that quick, maybe in about 3weeks time. Very excited and pleased at how accommodating and flexible Amart Melrose Park are I hung up. After I got all excited and the alarm bells started to ring. Are they really that helpful or am I just being taken for a ride? Either way I'm glad I discovered this site. This allows me to deal with Amart with my eyes open, and more wary than before. Myself and my husband are well aware of our rights as consumers, and are by no means scared to take actions private and public to protect and enforce those rights. I will be asking if the lounge we have ordered is a floor model, and I will expect an honest answer. If it is floor stock I will expect a reasonable discount. If not I will be going over it with a fine tooth comb, checking for any type of ware or shop soiling. I will also expect the lounge to arrive in a timely manner. If all goes well and our lounge arrives on time and in perfect condition I will gladly give the store a 5 star rating, and more. On the other hand if there is a problem at all, ratings can be easily changed. So far rating is excellent, and will stay that way if all goes well. As consumers I think that we all have to be really suspicious, of everything. It is something I hate, but necessary, even to the point of documenting everything that is said and agreed to. Especially when dealing with large amounts of money. After all said, I have been pleased with the level of communication, and pleasant manner that I have been dealt with. I think if all continues to go well, I will be spending more money in this store. Here's to a happy transaction. So far so good, maybe they are actually that helpful.;) I like that the manager and staff seem willing to go the extra mile for customers. Delivery charge is bit high.
Outstanding customer service and product
From the first contact I made with Super A-Mart, Edwardstown I have been so impressed! They emailed me back within half an hour with a query answered (when does this ever happen elsewhere?!). I rang the store later with a few more questions and [Personal Name Removed] was so friendly and helpful over the phone, taking time and showing interest. I then went into their Edwardstown/Melrose Park store twice and first [Personal Name Removed] and then the following day, [Personal Name Removed] where both extremely helpful, knowledgeable and very frie...ndly and attentive to me. I can not fault them, they were both absolutely wonderful! I have never experienced such good customer service anywhere (and I am not the easiest customer)! I am floored! Oh, and the product I purchased ($2k,mocha 100% leather "Revolution" chaise lounge suite) is gorgeous! Thank you so much, I will be back and will tell all. This is what true customer service used to be about apparently, in the good old days. Keep up the GREAT work guys. Love ya work! :)
