weeks for it to be in stock! when we picked it up and put it together I noticed chips in the top of the cabinet and the coating peeling off so I contacted customer service asking if we could get a new top or swap it for a new cabinet I was told they’d give me $90 but then my warranty will be void so I paid nearly $500 for a cabinet that was faulty and they want to give me $90 UM NO THANKS! I asked for a replacement, I got it a lot quicker than receiving the first one, they asked me to dismantle the first one and take it back, I called them and told them it had been glued together with the glue provided in the flatpack and screwed so they let me take it built, come home unpacked it and guess what SAME ISSUE I have contacted customer service and am still waiting for a reply, it’s very frustrating when you purchase “new furniture “ and it’s already damaged, after the experience I’ve had with aamart it’s safe to say I won’t be shopping there any time soon AND if I want flat pack furniture I’ll go to ikea

Very poor quality products and zero warranty backup – Pathetic after sales warranty. $400 buffet, supposed 5 yr warranty Paper thin crappy laminate has all started delaminating and bubbling after 12 months. we replied again but have received no further correspondence. very disappointed that no effort was made by them to achieve a satisfactory outcome for a paying customer and the ignore it and it will go away attitude stinks. We will not be making any purchases from Amart in the future and certainly not recommending them to anybody else

Be careful of whats included because you might have to pay later! – I had been looking for a lounge for my first home which I am currently building. I was "umming and R'ing" about the lounge and made a call to my dad to come down and have a look for a third opinion (my step mum was with me.) While waiting, Joseph naturally wanted to make the deal and below is the deal which was made on the day:- Lounge cost: $4,999.00 If the deal was made on that day and I put an order in and made a deposit he would "give me free delivery which included assembly and removal of all rubbish" and provide me "5 years accidental warranty" which is the boxes of cleaning products and if that cant fix it they send someone out (whether insurance actually would do that is another thing entirely.) He could see I was still pondering and said "I tell you what, i'll do 10 years". I said I would think about it and my dad would be half an hour so i left the store until my dad arrived. Dad arrived, and gave the green light and confirmed with Joseph that the price included 10 year warranty and free delivery to which Joseph replied "yes" and did not divulge any further details of the sale. Joseph also made me aware to keep an eye on the lounge price online because if it goes on sale i have the right to get the sale price up until delivery (i thought, how good is that?!) So i made a deposit for the lounge and was given these additional incentives to make the lounge more attractive.

Fast forward one month. I go online and see that the lounge has been reduced by $700.00, amazing! What luck, first time home owner/lounge buyer and I get the lounge at this price - wrong. I called up and the lady on the phone told me that while yes I do get the lounge at the on sale price, I now need to pay for the incentives given to me which included 10 year additional warranty and the delivery ($476). This did not make sense to me nor was it communicated at the time of purchase. What should have been said was "These incentives are only for today and this deal, if the price goes down you will have to pay for the added extra's we are giving you today" would I have paid for 10 year warranty knowing that, probably not as it is not manufacture warranty its additional! I rang the store Saturday, Tuesday and then Thursday. Thursday is when I spoke to Joseph and he initially told me that he had told me all this, i was very lucky i had witnesses with me at the time. "Here's what we can do sweetie" at that I was frustrated and patronized so I dont recall his offer but I asked to speak with the manager . Manager Theo came on the phone, initially very defensive and told me things arent "free", how condescending? I appreciate things aren't free, but when someone says "we will throw this in for you if you make the deal today" what does that suggest? Also mentioned "You were happy to pay $5k on the day and now you want things for free" it isnt about the money, its the principle. If I am given incentives and then after given incentives told to check online for sales and I will get that price how is it my fault? I was misinformed and told white lies in order to get a sale.

In the end, Theo partially came to the party and gave me 5 year warranty included in the sale price but i had to return one box in store and I also have to now pay for delivery. I was told this has "never happened before" which only makes me believe thousands of people have paid for something they wouldnt have bought in the first place.

Bottom line: Ensure you know exactly what you are paying for. If your lounge or item goes on sale, do you have to pay for things you wouldn't pay for initially?

Haven't received the lounge yet but really hoping it is of good quality, I wish i had read the reviews first. I wouldnt purchase from Amart Melrose Park Again.

here soon. On reply the Store manager Informed me that I had missed the cut off for the quote and as a result they thought the order was no longer required.

So for the last 12 weeks Amart have kept my $1,000 deposit and not only did they not order the couch, they said absolutely nothing to me. No phone calls, no emails, no text messages, nothing. I do wounder if I hadn't contacted them how long they would of kept my money without saying anything. Their processes for tracking payments is so poor that they didn't even notice a $1,000 deposit for an order that had expired in their system .

I am beyond dissapointed. I have received the refund and now I'll start the shopping process all over again. I can assure you I will never be stepping into an Amart Furniture or any other business associated with them ever again.

Grossly overpriced cheap and nasty furniture! – Went into this store to look around at furniture and was amazed at the cheap, nasty, rubbish quality of the furniture, yet they have the most absurd, grossly overpriced prices for such nasty rubbish. No wonder the store was empty when I went in on a weekend. Can get the same priced lounge suite at Nick Scali and getting quality, not nasty!

Couches are not made to sit on – They sell inferior products that do not last the term of warranty from normal wear and tear. A leather L shaped couch literally split from beneath one seat and foam spilling out, from just sitting on it - what a couch SHOULD be able to handle. Sitter is 70 kilo so not even an unreasonable use. A-mart advised its wear and tear, not warranty fault, evidently a $2000 leather couch isnt made to sit on... Show details

Cheap fabric that pills within weeks – The fabric is NOT covered by “quality guarantee “ for a reason. It’s cheap rubbish. Pills in weeks. Don’t buy it! I’ve only had my sofas for 3 months and it looks terrible with pilling! I’m very unhappy. Plus they tell you it will be two weeks wait for your order to arrive so they can score the sale but it really takes 6-8 weeks. Go elsewhere and pay a bit more. Stay away – I recently bought a package, the Alida bookcase and desk from the SA Marion store, I paid for my furniture and got told delivery was $80 and that the boxes are really big and wouldn't fit in my car so I then paid for that. When my furniture arrived, I noticed the boxes were actually not big at all and could of fit in my car, I'm not going to question someone to ask to look out the back to see the boxes. So I paid $80 delivery for nothing. I also bought a queen bedroom suite 1.5 years ago and was over charged for a bed side table I was meant to get free in the package, I didn't realise until I was home and read it all once it got delivered. I then called the Amart where I got it from which was Gepps cross and they said they can't do anything and to call Gem Visa and they were no help either. So I now have over paid on things I did not have to with only 1 refund. What a joke.

a very easy going and relaxed approach in the shop. They offered help when wanted and left us space and time to think without interrupting our decision making process.

We dealt with Glen, who was outstanding. He showed us different options with a positive, attentive and comfortable approach. Glen offered very informative and helpful advice so we could make the right choice. Working in retail I really appreciated his input which was very obviously not there to make the most profit out of us but clearly his goal was to make sure we find what we are looking for while also showing us all the options.

Petar, the manager, also helped us to find the right combination and not only did we buy a couch that we came for, but with the very competitive prices they offer, and the service they provide, we were comfortable doing more business with them and will do so in the future.

Cassandra and I can highly recommend the AMART Furniture in Melrose Park and their staff to whoever wants to find great furniture for competitive prices and is looking for knowledgeable and friendly staff to give you the best advice on how to furnish your home. Worst flat packed tallboy ever – I purchased the Alexia 6 draw tallboy. When I got the box home, I realised it was in 27,000 pieces. referred me to a person who quoted me $125 to put together which turns a $299 tallboy into $425. I explained that was not acceptable.

They then arranged to send an employee from the store for $50 to assemble.

I agreed to this. The poor boy spent 2 hours and 45 minutes assembling the drawers. He worked non stop and he knew what he was doing!

I would not recommend this product to anyone.

A product or good has a major problem when:

It has a problem that would have stopped someone from buying it if they’d known about it.

it is unsafe.

Structural failure constitutes a major failure, [name removed] the store manager has advised the phone staff member they are unwilling to replace. BEWARE OF Super Amart!!!

to purchase a few items therefore I wanted the delivery address updated. Firstly he wanted my old number which I obviously don't remember, then proceeded to say he can't go any further without a phone number, I suggested how about you check by my last name? (doing his job for him) it was too much of an effort but he tried... Nothing came up! I explained I have purchased a gem card from them in the past and couldn't understand why I wasn't In the system, it's like he didn't believe me and treated my call as if it was a prank of some sort! Then went on to say how strange this request was, I simply wanted to make life easier for the person who would be coming in to purchase the products for me! I don't understand why that was so difficult to fathom! He told me his last name ends in 'ovski' and his name gets flagged straight away as it's an uncommon name, he couldn't be bothered trying to help me, and provided no solutions to the problem! He then demanded to add me into the system and wanted my details right then and there! but I refused as I will never step foot into that store ever again! There are so many other places you can buy decent affordable furniture from now with better customer service. I'm refurbishing a few of my units and needed cheap furniture packages to update the decor, leaving a family member in charge of the property and design whilst I move back interstate, Not that it's any of your business A-mart.... but just so you DO know, you lost yourself a valued customer who pays on time and has real estate connections who would make good business with you, thanks to the imbecile you've placed as 'store manager' at your Melrose store, who is ultimately running that store to the ground.

Great Service and Products – I brought the settler queen package from Melrose Park. Great sales person and store manager. After reading product reviews about the mattress I purchased I was sceptical but proved to be a winner. Delivery guys fantastic shame they don't take the boxes away though. No call back. 2 weeks later, rang the store, told the setting was discontinued and the damaged chairs couldn't be replaced. Discussed a solution and was told "I'll get back to you a.s.a.p". No call back. 2 weeks later rang the store. Still no solution, was told "I'll get back to you". What a joke!! Do you get the picture? To cut a long story short, after visiting the store 2 times (from Broken Hill) and 15 phone calls, my outdoor setting was finally picked up for return, 3 months after receiving it. Now all I am waiting for is my refund. What do you think my chances are of getting it before 2015. BUCKLEY'S. I will never enter a Super Amart store again, nor will any of my family and friends.

Suspicions are fading – Just visited Amart Furniture Melrose park, after looking online and finding the leather lounge that I wanted. Only to be told that the Rumpus wasn't available until mid January. deposit was a delivery fee of $99.00. I thought this was high but we do live a long way from the store. After measuring up at home I found the lounge too big for the room. So I rang the store for a refund. The sales girl remembered that I originally wanted the Rumpus suite, and asked if I wanted to order one. I said I wasn't prepared to wait till mid January for one, and that perhaps I'd better just get a refund or maybe they could sell me the floor model. She said they don't do that. Then just like magic she said she had found one and I could have it in as little as 48hrs. Well I don't need it that quick, maybe in about 3weeks time.

Very excited and pleased at how accommodating and flexible Amart Melrose Park are I hung up. After I got all excited and the alarm bells started to ring. Are they really that helpful or am I just being taken for a ride? Either way I'm glad I discovered this site. This allows me to deal with Amart with my eyes open, and more wary than before.

Myself and my husband are well aware of our rights as consumers, and are by no means scared to take actions private and public to protect and enforce those rights. I will be asking if the lounge we have ordered is a floor model, and I will expect an honest answer. If it is floor stock I will expect a reasonable discount. If not I will be going over it with a fine tooth comb, checking for any type of ware or shop soiling. I will also expect the lounge to arrive in a timely manner. If all goes well and our lounge arrives on time and in perfect condition I will gladly give the store a 5 star rating, and more. On the other hand if there is a problem at all, ratings can be easily changed. So far rating is excellent, and will stay that way if all goes well.

As consumers I think that we all have to be really suspicious, of everything. It is something I hate, but necessary, even to the point of documenting everything that is said and agreed to. Especially when dealing with large amounts of money.

After all said, I have been pleased with the level of communication, and pleasant manner that I have been dealt with. I think if all continues to go well, I will be spending more money in this store. Here's to a happy transaction. So far so good, maybe they are actually that helpful.;) I like that the manager and staff seem willing to go the extra mile for customers. Delivery charge is bit high.

then went into their Edwardstown/Melrose Park store twice and first [Personal Name Removed] and then the following day, [Personal Name Removed] where both extremely helpful, knowledgeable and very friendly and attentive to me. I can not fault them, they were both absolutely wonderful! I have never experienced such good customer service anywhere (and I am not the easiest customer)! I am floored! Oh, and the product I purchased ($2k,mocha 100% leather "Revolution" chaise lounge suite) is gorgeous! Thank you so much, I will be back and will tell all.
