Feedback regarding Amazon is heavily divided between frequent shoppers who appreciate the wide product range, competitive pricing, and swift delivery, and frustrated customers detailing significant service breakdowns. A recurring point of friction involves delivery inconsistencies, such as missing parcels and poor communication from third-party couriers, alongside difficulties when attempting to resolve issues through customer support. While many users report a seamless experience with prime services and returns, others caution potential buyers to carefully vet marketplace sellers and manage expectations regarding shipping timeframes.
I was bombarded with offers of faster Amazon deliveries if I subscribed to Prime for $9.00/month. I ordered five products from Amazon suppliers both international and local and paid careful attention to the tracking information and the actual delivery times from the various suppliers. I then subscribed to Amazon Prime for the free 30 day trial,… Read more
ordered five products similar to the previously stated goods and suppliers to see just how much quicker the delivery times were with and without Prime. I could not detect any delivery time improvements with Prime. I will be cancelling the 30 day trial as I cannot see any benefit to me and my deliveries.
Ordered a brand new book and it arrived with badly scuffed corners, as there was no protection around the book which clearly had moved around inside the box during transit. I wrote a poor review on Amazon and it was not published as it didn’t meet a long list of unrealistic and confusing maze of requirements, which means I couldn’t complain if it involved any of the basic issues you would normally complain about. Never using Amazon again. Show details
Repeatedly leaving my parcels on the lawn, upgraded to leaving them on the lawn in the rain. All my parcels have instructions to leave my the door or on the porch as I am disabled and seriously ill and can’t get to the mailbox a lot of the time and that’s repeatedly ignored. Customer service has gone downhill and I’m repeatedly bounced between… Read more
people and tonight was transferred after I said no and just left with nobody because I wanted actual follow up that I was told would happen and didn’t. You can’t email anymore so it’s phone call, chat or nothing. And chat is a joke. It took me over an hour to just get a refund and have the rained on parcel reported and now no follow up as promised. Amazon used to be such a help but it’s a mess now and keeps costing me more and more time fixing their mistakes. Items damaged from being packed ridiculously badly (funko pop boxes in envelopes instead of boxes, glass items shipped together loose with no packing material and so on. Just pure incompetence and lack of basic common sense) and then replacements arriving exactly the same after promising they will be ok the next time and then having to fight for refunds. Paying more with Amazon to get something on the delivery date required and then items not showing up as promised, it’s a mess now and it’s so disappointing as it used to be reliable and an absolute lifesaver for a disabled and very sick parent to a young child but now it’s wasting my time and i can’t actually use my service I pay for, for a lot of things as I know they won’t be in giftable condition or will be broken or will be out of date or have very limited date. It’s gotten so bad. I will likely cancel my account at this point as it’s not really a benefit anymore and they don’t seem to care anymore.

Another useless AMAZON delivery driver didn’t even close gate 2 meters from busy footpath
Item not delivered – 24/12/2023 - empty amazon box handed to me after giving a code, was to contain a iphone. The delivery guy started trotting off but I called him out on the empty box, he phoned amazon and filled them in, wanted to unmark it as delivered but they refused. They told him to take the empty box back. I called amazon later and they said an investigation… Read more
had commenced call back in 3 days. Done that and had to send a stat dec with their "specific" wording for a refund. I was told I would get a refund but that person could not authorise a refund of high value, I was then told a manager would need to do the refund due the value. That person in an email threatened me with loss of account privileges or account closure and refused a refund. Started their procedure all over again and back to the same result a second time. I did get another email saying I would get a refund but no refund. I then went to my bank for chargeback, ME Bank, 3 months later amazon claim ME bank took the money back off them but I did not receive the money back in my account until 24th of June 2024.

did to mine I used the world rubbish to describe it there is an issue ...when customers are very upset if the bad quality of a product most likely will use such terms and they will never know that their review was not published as it does not come any notification but you have delibertly to search in your messages or in reviews if your review was published.....So convenient manipulation....imagine how many upset customers are cut in this way from informing......it would be more honest for Amazon if would publish the review and use dots over supposedly vulgar words
No care at all with delivery – Delivery was dumped and it fell over off the step, then not even picked up and put under cover. See the attached video. Show details
Have used my account in a year, and this awful company locked my account and there is no way to retrieve my account unless I set up a new email. They can [Content Removed] right off. If I could give them 0 stars I would have. With the cost of living biting harder then ever I can’t afford to shop online all the time.
Absolutely shocking Thorne magnesium capsule ordered and the usual bottle arrived saying it was full of magnesium capsules but inside it is full of tiny black seeds??? Apparently all the expensive Thorne supplements are FAKE on amazon and everything is full of led and mercury
I have had 2 interactions with Amazon Australia this week. The first was about receiving damaged items which did not have sufficient packaging to prevent damage (items were completely bent and unusable) and also to question their return process. Their website stated there was a parcel point locally to drop off a return however after showing up… Read more
there, the courier knew nothing about Amazon returns so was a total waste of time. After I contacted Amazon about the discrepancy, they said they would organise a return pickup in the next 2 days between 8am and 5 pm and I would need to be home to sign for it! This was not acceptable having to stay at home for 2 days without knowing when they would show up?! After a lot of back and forth in the chat I finally received a refund.
I would have given them more stars even though it was a difficult process however…..
The second issue was about a pricing issue on an item I purchased. Have attached an image of the initial complaint. After opening a chat and explaining what the issue was about, I waited a considerable amount of time before anyone responded. I wanted to discuss this inconsistent pricing because I felt somewhat ripped off after I had made my purchase and the price once again had dropped by $100.
I finally got through but basically was told there’s nothing they can do about the pricing. While I was still responding to her answer, she just abruptly ended the chat and I could not continue the discussion. Very disrespectful! I didn’t even get to respond! I then rang them and was put on hold and was told there would be a 30 minute wait…..however 1 hour and 15 minutes later I decided it was time to hang up as I clearly was not going to get to talk to anyone!!
I would send the item back however only found out about the pricing difference an hour after we had opened the package so it’s no longer eligible for change of mind. Didn’t even get the opportunity to discuss it!

Hazardous Fake Pet Product & Amazon Refusal to Act (Order 249-6185816-3226238) Seller: Aimall australia, Product: "Natural sisal rope" 1. Concrete Evidence of Material Fraud & Safety Hazard The seller advertised this product as " Natural Sisal Rope for DIY Cat Scratching Posts." What I received is a fake, plastic-looking white rope with a… Read more
toxic, pungent chemical smell, posing an extreme ingestion and health hazard to pets. In Amazon message, the seller shamelessly claimed that "the outer side of the rope has a sisal material fixing line to prevent the rope from loosening". And they admitted that the rope has been chemically treated .
According International Natural Fiber Standards & Pet Product Safety Guidelines:
"Authentic natural sisal rope must be made entirely from 100% natural agave plant fibers from top to bottom, without any synthetic materials inside or outside. It should never contain plastic, polyester, or cheap synthetic fuzz in the core.
Chemical-Free & Safe: Genuine sisal rope for cat posts must be non-toxic and free from harsh chemical smells. It must be safe for cats to scratch, bite, and lick."
material fraud: True natural sisal rope does not need an "outer fixing line" to hold its shape. The seller wrapped a thin outer layer of sisal over cheap synthetic fluff to deceive buyers and cut costs.
Toxic Risk (Pet Safety Hazard): The seller officially admitted using a chemical softening agent. A chemical l on a pet item is dangerous because cats can ingest toxic chemicals when scratching or biting the post.
Direct Comparison: My attached photos clearly show the cross-section of their rope and unnatural color compared with a genuine natural sisal rope I subsequently bought from another Amazon seller. The fraud is undeniable.
2. System Failure & Support Unresponsiveness A-to-z Claim Glitch: I have contacted Amazon phone support 4 times and to no avail, receiving only generic stalling responses. I attempted to file an A-to-z Guarantee claim twice on the Amazon website, but the system glitched and failed both times. Unreasonable Return Costs and insurance: Amazon Support is fully aware (via message history) that the return shipping cost exceeds the price of the item itself. Yet, Amazon continues to force me to pay return costs and insure this $34 item, and allowing seller to harass me with conflicting demands.
Attach 7: Advertised item listing on Amazon. Attach 6: Photo showing the white rope I received Attach 5: The end of the rope held in my hand, clearly exposing the cheap synthetic core. Attach 4: Side-by-side comparison with genuine sisal rope (purchased from another Amazon seller) on the right. Attach 3: the seller's message containing their ridiculous "fixing line" and "chemical agent" . Attach 2: Amazon Support messaging history proving Amazon awareness of the return postage fee more than the the item cost itself. Attach 1: Final Amazon A-to-Guarantee email ask me to pay return costs and to insure this $34 item.

In short, awful customer service, and by awful, I mean incompetent and incapable of resolving issues created on the Amazon side. I am an Amazon Prime customer and have been one for years. I have been having issues with my Orders since 21st July. I ordered a book on 21st July (Order # 249-6920689-4460655), but it was delayed 3 times without any… Read more
explanation, so I had to cancel my order as it would not have arrived on time. Again, I ordered the same book on 27th July (Orders: Order number 249-6116977-5474213 and Order number 249-2177378-4627846). The same book was meant to be delivered on 30th July, but it was delayed, and I was advised it would arrive on 2nd Aug. On that day, I received an email advising that it would be delayed again until 5th August. Today, on 5th August, orders were AGAIN delayed, this time to 8th August. Both orders are still active, yet not one of the four people I spoke to, one of them being the Account Supervisor, could tell me why the delay.
Not only that, but when I spoke to him, he advised that there was no record of the case being escalated further, which is what the customer reps before him had advised me. So either they didn't do their job and lied about it, or they don't know how to escalate the case and lied about it. Ultimately, that Account Supervisor advised that he couldn’t help me either. He didn’t know where or how to escalate my case. He advised me to wait. When I asked him to lodge a complaint on my behalf, he—more or less—said it wasn’t his job to do that. He provided me with an email address for customer service, which is basically the same service I have been speaking to for weeks, who didn’t do anything to investigate what’s going on with these orders.
As proof, I’m attaching my call history with Amazon from the first order until 3rd Aug 26, the date of my last call.
How is any author published through Amazon going to earn any money if orders keep getting delayed without any explanation and no one is held accountable?
It seems that being an Amazon Prime customer for years is no longer worth anything. At least in the past, issues were resolved. It is baffling how bad Amazon's customer service has become.
Amazon has decide to do deliveries at 5.00 am even though there is no access to my building until 7am, therefore they leave parcels outside the gate which is the street, and anyone can take the goods. This is not a safe place contrary to their delivery promise.
I have relied heavily on Amazon customer reviews when making decisions on what to buy and what to avoid. Amazon have decided to not only censor reviews, but to also make it difficult to see reviews. One now has to make a REQUEST to see reviews. (See bottom panel in picture) This, in my opinion, sends the message that sellers have somethingto… Read more
hide, the result being, that I will be relying on sites that show reviews, good and bad. For example, Bunnings have numerous terrible product reviews, but they remain in place for all to see, as do reviews on Etsy, Aliexpress, Temu and others. Pretty poor show Amazon. It was nice doing business with you.

regular retailers, and of course the online ones. Amazon was having a Prime Day 2026 promo, with a 20% off, plus free delivery. I had to look, and ended up comparing to Costco, Bing Lee, Good Guys, K Mart, EBay, Kogan, Dick Smith.....I chose Amazon, as I tried them before, and was very happy with the price and brand. Well, today, Sunday 12th July, a knock on my door......It was a courier with my unit. It was only four days since my order, and they delivered on a Sunday. How good is that?!!!! The courier asked for a special code from Amazon, which I gave after checking my phone, and bingo, new microwave on my doorstep. Thank you Amazon, and thank you to your delivery people.
Follow-up · So far so good! After a month of daily use, I've found a few useful things one can do. First on my list was the quite loud beep, when heating was finished. I was able to mute all sounds, however this included the sounds made when pressing of the control panel. This didn't bother me, in fact I preferred it. I have a completely silent microwave,… Read more

are over-inflated to cover the cost of postage and possible returns due to inferior products. Just be aware that this may be the case and make an informed decision before purchasing on a too good to be true item! I recently found this to be the case. The item was returned and a credit is due to me. Next time I will weigh up if it's worth the trouble on what appears to be a bargain. Mostly I have had an excellent buying experience. Thanks Prime...the movies are quite good as well.
Follow-up · I have cancelled my Prime Subscription, it now fails to fulfil my needs. Shopping with Amazon isn’t my go to, I’d rather shop where my goods aren’t hit with huge shipping costs. There are plenty of much better Australian options.

and you’ll see. I’m just absolutely so impressed with this company. I want everyone to know about it as I did and you can get anything you want really very impressive. They refunds are fantastic as well. You don’t pay for return. Just take a photo of the code and take it to the post office and your item gets returned without incident. I’ve been using them for probably about eight years now. Fantastic lots of savings lots of bargains too.

Extremely disappointed by Amazon's lack of service. I ordered a part from Amazon and was informed that it would be an 7 day delivery. I phoned they informed me that it had been delayed but would be arriving in 10 days instead of the 7 days. Days later it was still listed as processing and had never left the USA premises. I joined the trial of Prime membership around four weeks ago and placed multiple orders to purchase different items within this period. these issues and requested for a solution to get this resolved. It was a bit frustrating when I kept receiving those faulty products since I needed them to do my job in workshops and home repairs within my limited weekend or night hours.
I accepted Amazon’s proposed solutions to settle these issues, which were a refund without returning for 2 of the concerned items as discussed and agreed with their CS staffs, and I thought that was understandable and acceptable considering the saving of my travel time and cost to the drop off points. I also requested refund for the other 3-4 items in the next few weeks upon my return of the concerned items at Australia Post.
I thought it was fine due to their promoted return and refund policy. I believe I got a peace of mind for shopping on the Amazon platform, got fully protected as a customer and therefore I kept doing my shopping on their website, until few days ago when I received their message, telling me that I have continued to violate the returns and refund policy. It’s very disappointing and angry to receive such unfair and disrespectful message.
I decide just to put the remaining 3-4 faulty items into the trash bin since they are not safe to use, arrived damaged/ faulty or not aligned with their descriptions on the selling platform. Forget about the return and refund in order to save my travel time and cost on this issue, and take the lesson learned. I am no longer interested in shopping on the Amazon platform again due to the quality of products they are selling and the way that they treated me.
They are disrespectful to their customers, and I think that their return and refund policy is just a joke. I don’t trust them anymore, it’s a very disappointed experience.
