Has anyone had a problem with the glass breaking on the corner of their cooktop? I had the first replaced less than 7 months ago and now it has happened again! The model is a Ariston 4ZF NIO 844 75cm

My wife has selected Ariston 80cm induction cooktop to replace our current gas cooktop simply because she's read of it's ease of use. However, we were recently told by a Harvey Norman salesperson that the new 80cm induction won't be coming out until the middle of 2016. Is this correct and will the new induction cooktop be as easy to use as the previous model in the 80cm range? Also it seems that the current 80cm models have dropped off the planet are there still Ariston 80cm cooktops available of this years model?

Hi, 2yrs ago I bought the 80cm induction cooktop from Harvey Norman. But we didn't install it until a year ago. It was great and i loved it. However i noticed that the long cooker wasn't working, so i rang Arsiton in May to come get it fixed. The technician came and was trying to convince me that it worked. After half an hour of putting all the pots i could on it and showing him that nothing was boiling only warming slightly he finally believed me. After two weeks I heard nothing from them, so i rang them. So he came to fix it (took them about a week). Could not fix it. So they organised a new one to come. No one rang me again, so after nearly two weeks they finally organised some one to come to replace it. Surprise, surprise, they brought the wrong size. The technician was very lovely and said that some one would call me that day to explain what happened but gave me a number to ring if no one would get back to me. After 3 days of waiting, I rang the number and was bluntly refused that this girl would not speak to me as i had to go through the warranty department. I said that this was the number the technician gave me and that she was meant to ring me but never did i got told that the technician was wrong. So after i rang the warranty department i got told that they had stopped producing the 80cm cooktop, but had to order new ones from Italy and that it would take 6 weeks. Again no one called me after 6 weeks, so i finally called them. Finally they came to install the new one in October. Worked brilliantly for one month than the long cooked stopped working again, then two weeks ago the fuse went, and now i only have two small cookers working. I have currently gotten a refund from Harvey Norman, but that also took time as they had to chase Ariston for an official email. Anyway, the guy at Harvey Norman told me they don't produce this model anymore but have come out with the new model but currently they are having problems as it is not as good as the one I had. I have totally lost faith in their product and am very dissapointed in their customer service. So it may be a blessing for you that you cannot get it yet. I am currently looking at Ilve 78cm as it is the only one i can find that has the cut out I have in my bench. I bought Ariston as they had fantastic reviews online, but soon found that if you do a product review you will get a free cookbook. Whether that has anything to do with the reviews I'm not sure, or I may have got two duds, but whatever the case, to get the product fixed was a constant nightmare of having to chase them.

Many thanks for your detailed reply to my query. It was interesting about what you said about the "free cookbook", and it was because of the great reviews that we had taken notice of the Ariston brand. It's really disappointing that you had so much trouble not only with the cooktop that you purchased but with the "after" service that you had received....such as it was. I thought it strange that things seemed to go pear-shaped with Ariston after Harvey Norman bought the company.....it does pose more questions. Anyway, my wife and I are still working with the old gas hotplate while continuing to search for a suitable....and easy to use induction hotplate....with bridging function, bevelled edge and 80cm in size. They ARE out there. We were told only this morning by a salesperson at Good Guys that there are two "standard" sizes in induction hotplates....the 60cm and 90cm and that other sizes are in the odd size category as far as their business is concerned. The two sizes mentioned are either too big or too small to be practical for us so we'll keep on looking. Many thanks again for your kind reply.

My Ariston induction cooktop has been cooking fine now all of a sudden the displays are flashing and it won't heat up. I had a pot of sauce simmering. Any ideas?

Sorry Wendy, I haven't experienced this. All I can suggest is to talk to where you purchased your cooktop. If it's out of warrantee, look into the Australian Consumer Laws because you still might be covered any way. Cheers

Hi wendy, we suggest your call our team on 1300 762 219 so we can send out a technician to look at the cooktop. Thank you, Ariston team

Sounds like you could have locked it. I this once too. Just press and hold onto the lock icon till it unlocks (a few seconds).

If that doesn't work call Ariston.

Cheers
