Why does my door chime when plugged in itbeeps continually.

Our Arlec door chime chime when the button is pushed when someone comes to our door. But it also chimes when someone pushes my next door neighbour's doorbell! I changed the chime setting on my unit from the four-tone London time to the two-tone chime. It works at our door (2-tone), but still starts a 4-tone bell when my neighbour's button is pushed! So my clever work-around solution didn't work! Our houses are completely separated, so it's not a unit or apartment issue. So what to do??

the User Guide addresses this issue. The units have to be re-paired again on different frequency. (Like garage door openers).

Is there anyway to lengthen the chime or is one chime longer than another or can we get the chime to ring twice or constant we are using as a call button in a room

Its pointless having this Q and A if no questions are ever answered.

the bell push to operate the bell has gone flat , so how do change it ?

Slide the plastic cover at the bottom of the bell push unit backwards. A thin pocket knife blade helps with that. Undo the screw which is exposed. Lever the bottom section out slightly with a small flat blade screwdriver (there is a small slot in the bottom) and push the front panel upwards.

The unit was working well then suddenly stopped working. I've changed all batteries but no change. When I press the sound button on the sound unit the red light comes on momentarily with a short squeak, then nothing. How can I fix this please? Its only 4 months old.

I finally got it off by wedging in the flat end screwdriver in the edge. It doesn’t slide without a lot of help

I have the same problem, only one unit works, is within 50metres of transmitter & the other is (within 1metre of transmitter) so quiet it may as well be off. Have changed batteries in all units to no avail. How can I make the unit louder

Arlec DC163 Wireless Door Chime only works intermittently. I have replaced with new batteries, then works OK with the first press, then will NOT work for the next 4 or so presses. So then as per instructions, remove the batteries for more than 10 seconds, then replace all batteries and press within 15 seconds, then works OK for one press, then does not work thereafter. The unit is only 6 months old, totally unreliable.
