The build quality is excellent and they are more than willing to assist when things aren't quite what we expected. This will be our last build, but if it wasn't, I'd certainly go with Aston again and would not hesitate to recommend them for anyone building a new house.

Joe, my site supervisor. He has been consistently responsible, supportive, and proactive, guiding me smoothly through every step of the process.

One of area was unexpected disappointment, After the tender was finalized, the price increased by approximately $2,000 due to a new gas connection fee. Additionally, I received a separate bill from the utility provider for $732 for new electricity supply works and the meter installation.

In my previous home build, the electricity meter fee was included in the overall construction cost. I reviewed my earlier quote and also consulted with other builders, who confirmed that this charge is typically covered. However, Aston clarified that the electricity supply cost is the client’s responsibility.

Later in the tender stage, termite protection was added as an additional item, even though it had not been identified or classified during the initial sales contract.

Recommendation: If you're planning to build with Aston, I suggest budgeting an additional $2,000–$3,000 to cover these potential extra costs.

longer a priority once they have your money. Issues are brushed aside, concerns are not taken seriously, and responses often feel dismissive rather than helpful.

One particularly concerning practice is that they actively discourage independent building inspections by charging additional fees if you choose to have one done. This should've been a red flag.

Communication with the site supervisor has also been difficult. In my case, they were inflexible when it came to discussing the handover date, showing little willingness to accommodate reasonable concerns. Even more disappointing was the tone and attitude in conversations often coming across as misogynistic. See attached images.

Overall, the experience has made what should have been a major life investment feel trivial — like you’re spending $25 instead of $250,000. That lack of respect for customers is unbelievable.

I would strongly recommend that potential buyers do their research and consider other builders. This process should be exciting and rewarding, not stressful and draining.

initial colour selection interview which I believed they were annoyed with through my 3-4 emails and mentioned I quote, "As there has been a lot of back and forth with your selection". When I am spending 100's of thousands of $ to build a home, I have every right to change what I want as far as it's within the option guidelines. I think all Aston homes representatives should be able to answer customers queries regardless of how many changes us as a customer want to make as far as they are reasonable. After all we are building a home to live in not buying groceries from supermarket. I know that Aston Homes runs on Customer trusts as they mention which is exactly what I want. addressed promptly. We are very pleased with the workmanship and how our home is built. Our Client Liaison and the HR & Finance Officer were very helpful and gave us good advice along the way. Our Site Supervisor was excellent! He gives us updates every week and addressed everything that we have raised. If we are to build again, I wouldn't think twice to choose Aston Homes again. Having said all of that, as with everything there are things also that we had issues and the only thing that I would point out is the generator charge. Although it is stated in the contract and you have agreed to it, it turned out for us to be a very big amount that it did crush our spirit as it drained what was left on our savings. The land developer refused to reimburse us as in their opinion the amount was over inflated and we tend to agree with that as we had signed with a different builder which we terminated and then signed with Aston Homes. With the previous builder's contract the generator charge in case there is no power to the property during the build is $600 while with Aston Homes it's a daily charge which ended up to be around 21 days and a handful of thousand dollars in total. I tried to plea if there was anyway the cost can be lowered to no avail. In hindsight I could have purchased a generator with the amount that we paid and get to keep the generator. It was truly a heartache at that time. We are 4 months now in our home and is very happy with it! Some issues here and there but all are addressed. The only issue that we are waiting to be rectified is the hot water pressure in the ensuite shower which has been looked at by the plumbers and is now under observation on what needs to be done after the observation period. I would totally recommend building with Aston Homes!

Aston Homes promptly fixed all the defects that were identified

3. Supportive Sales Agent: The sales agent was supportive throughout the process. However, a he was very particular to make any plan changes, and same was during tender process.

4. Build Quality: The overall build quality of the house is good. A few items, such as cooling ducts and handles, felt like they were of lower quality compared to the rest of the home.

5. Price Increases: One downside was the price increase during the build process. I was charged in total 13k aud , 8000 was for price increase and 5000 for starting the build after an year.

In summary, Aston Homes delivered a well-built home with a smooth construction process, backed by a supportive team. A few minor quality issues aside, we’re happy with the result.
