Read the Warranty fine print carefully before purchase! NOT WORTH IT!!!! It is NOT a 5 year full warranty, you only get 12 months... and the remaining 4 years is "pro-rata". This means you have to pay an increasing percentage of FULL RRP as time goes on. Copy Paste from their website terms: "0-12 months from purchase date: full replacement… Read more

**Manufacture Warranty 13-24 months from purchase date: full replacement with 20% pro rata fee of RRP 25-36 months from purchase date: full replacement with 40% pro rata fee of RRP 37-48 months from purchase date: full replacement with 60% pro rata fee of RRP 49-60 months from purchase date: full replacement with 80% pro rata fee of RRP"

The batteries are nearly permanently "discounted" on their website, but the full recommended retail price is always quoted on the items. So your initial purchase price seems low, but to get any warranty after the first 12 months you PAY THEM a fee based on this overinflated RRP.

For instance, I purchased a 170Ah Giant lithium battery from them 3 years ago. Currently "on sale" for $900, but has a RRP of $1600. If I want to claim on my 5 year warranty, I have to pay them 60% of $1600 (their RRP, not my purchase price) which = $960. So it's actually cheaper for me to buy a new battery than it is to claim on my warranty. At 4 or 5 years in it's clearly even worse!

So you in effect only get 12 months realistic warranty with these batteries... not the 5 years advertised in big writing under the warranty page.

Buy these cheap batteries knowing this. My battery has worked fine for 3 years, but has now clearly dropped a cell or two (only charges to half capacity and doesn't last). It's been well maintained (not in a hot car, not thrown about camping or on corrugated roads), kept indoors in a cool cupboard to power a CPAP machine off grid. It's done a grand total of 90 complete cycles according to the BMS (battery is rated to 5000). I use a high quality Victron battery charger specifically designed and recommended for these types of batteries. It's basically had the most perfect life for a battery you can have. No extremes in heat or cold, no massive or sudden power draws on it... lives in a Ardent battery case (also purchased from them). It goes down to 25-30%, and is then charged up again every couple weeks. Gentle as!

And even then, with all that gentle treatment, it's a "throw away item" after 3 years. For $900, a LiFePo4 170Ah battery seems cheap. But there's a reason for that. If you want longevity and reliability (and a proper warranty longer than 12 months), don't buy these batteries. Or buy it, knowing you only have a realistic 12 month warranty, and if it dies after that you are throwing it away with no warranty. It's a gamble I wish I knew before buying, as I would have purchased elsewhere. NOT a 5 year warranty. This is not a $1600 battery. A real battery of that value has a warranty you can rely on, not fine print that literally makes you buy another one after 2 years.

First the 36v battery charger failed and they happily wiped their hands of me when they realized the charger was just out of warranty. We then removed and checked the batteries and found one had failed, maybe because of the charger. They offered to replace all 3 batteries at a discounted price but they were hard to deal with and uncooperative. I… Read more

Battery caught fire in my car – I would not recommend buying from this company, my battery caught on fire in my vehicle. They made a much of excuses even though I supplied the invoice from my auto electrician to prove it was installed professionally. I will be taking this matter to fair trading to recover costs to my vehicle due to the fire from their battery

2 140ah lithium batteries failed after one year and illegal denial of Australian consumer guarantee – I bought two 140AH lithium from these guys 14 months ago. Both have substantially degraded. One shutting down with 20ah left and the other shutting down with 53ah left. This is far from what is advertised and after spending ages going back and forth they deem this acceptable. I will be pursuing a refund via QCAT, cant let these dodgy companies get… Read more

away with this stuff. Better of buying a Renogy, 4 years old and still putting out 99%

you can see of the screenshots the BMS is cut off discharging before getting anywhere near rated capacity.

This Giant is doing it's job very well! – Really pleased with my GIANT 140AMH 12 V AGM from Aussie Batteries & Solar. Although not fully tested by going out bush, it is working a treat. I’ve restored a 1980 ACT Consort wind-up caravan and have installed an X-Bull 3000 Kg electric winch for the roof so was a little concerned that the AGM might not have been the best choice. No worries! … Read more

With all the ups and downs required during the work of restoring, the voltage has never dropped below 12.7. Yes… I have an 12V 12 Amp 8 stage Automatic Battery charger on intermittently and have tested a small solar panel for trickle charging but at no time has the Giant ever looked at all phased with winch, LED lights, phone chargers, etc. running. Recommended!

Aussie batteries terrible!! Don’t buy – I spent almost $9000 on 260a/h lithium batteries and had nothing but problems. All of them have failed over the period of about 3 years. Customer support is crap. Takes ages to get anything done. Now the last battery runs out of warranty next month and they won’t reply to my emails. They probably will when it’s out of warranty. requesting tracking number and delivery date, "Customer Service" does not provide customer service and advised I had to log request on website. Despatch DO NOT have phones and you can only communicate via website & email. Fact 5 - Rang Sales department, advised I wanted a refund and was advised to raise request via website Fact 6 - 18/12 I raised request for a refund stating I had not received the item, that I needed the battery for holidays and I would need to source from somewhere else. I was advised that they would not issue a refund until the battery was returned. But now have provided to me a tracking number. Fact 7 - 18/12 checked on courier's website as to status of delivery, status was "ITEM NOT RECEIVED FROM SENDER" Fact 8 - After I replied to Aussie Batteries that this service was disgusting I received and email from the General Manager who advised that this was a busy time of year and apologised for the delay. MISSED THE POINT GENERAL MANAGER, for 8 days you did not follow up courier, you did not provide a tracking number for me to follow up with courier, you basically handed the item to the courier and wiped your hands. Your company DOES NOT provide customer service, your staff will not take phone calls to discuss issues such as these. Yes I understand it is a busy time of year but that does not stop you from providing customer service. Fact 9 - After my complaint Aussie Batteries did follow up with the courier and did arrange for item to be delivered and it was on 19/12.

I hope the product is better than your service.

Will never deal with Aussie Batteries & Solar again – I do not recommend Aussie Batteries & Solar and will never buy from them again. I fell for their good price and terrific 5 year warranty. the test. The test data showed that my140Ah battery was only capable of delivering 57 Ah.The technical team did not understand the test data and wrongly concluded that the battery was actually in good condition and had, in their opinion, actually passed the test. I finally asked for a full refund and that is when they dropped me like a hot potato and I have NOT heard from them since. I have reported this company to the ACCC and I also wish to point out that their Pro rata Warrantee does not comply with the Australian Consumer Protection Law. Since requesting a full refund this company has not even had the common courtesy of replying to my messages. Buyer Beware - If you ever need to ask for a refund from this Company I wish you good luck as in my case I could not even get a reply to my email messages.

Aussie AGM Batteries – I've been using the Giant 140AH AGM batteries for 2 years in my caravan off grid system; they take a fair hiding with the Appiances we run. Keep the draw below 1400watts to avoid damage to the batteries. The 3 batteries (parallel)can run the airconditioner, pulling between 35 - 90Amps, Microwave, Coffee machine, hair dryer, toaster, small kettle… Read more

(600w) and induction cooktop,( recommend no more than 1200w setting). Appliances one at a time. Basically any appliance rated below 1400w. I recommend running high power appliances (700 - 1400w) during the day with solar assistance because the draw rating is about 50Amp continuous; you'll notice the voltage fall to 12v during heavy loads and I don't recommend having the voltage drop below 11.9 for any length of time. In short, keep an eye on the voltage when you use them. The Online store is excellent and any questions you have are anwered pretty well straight away or at least at the next working day. There are heaps of products and bundles/specials to choose from. I love the quality of the Batteries, noting the AGM's have thicker plates, are extra heavy duty and take a reasonable Continuous AMP draw. If Lithium is out of your price reach at the moment, then these AGMs are OK for the basic setup.

Warranty changes and other "glitches" with the info they provide – After the ridiculous saga, trying to get tech info , i have been keeping an eye on their website. "Tech" staff I noted that the 200Ah had been changed to a 3yr warranty ? Next the weights of batteries; The 200Ah battery , initially had the same weight as the 260Ah battery (24.4Kg ) Really ?. Both sizes claimed dual BMS, (150A and 200A respectively) Then they changed weights to : 200Ah (28.4Kg) and the 260Ah (stays at 24.4Kg) ? Plus ... another change, with the addition of cell balancing added to the BMS of both sizes. There are a number of inconsistencies with this outfit ...my dear Watson.... !

Pro-rata refund is in breach of consumer guarantees. Demand all your money back – Purchased a 170Ah lithium battery September 2021. refund. After 3 weeks i contacted them to ask about my refund. They infotmed me they would send it back as they had apparently fixed it by replacing all the cells. I asked for a refund as I do not want one of their cheap under rated batteries. They offered me a pro-rata refund with a deduction for the period I had the battery. The battery has a 5yr warranty & after 18mths was holding less than 56ah, this is a major fault. The consumer guarantees act says they must provide me with a full refund or replacement & cannot make deductions for time of use. Their warranty terms as stated on their website are in breach of fair trading. I will be reporting them to the ACCC & taking it to the office of fair trading for my refund & compensation if they do not refund my purchase price in full. If you buy a battery from them I recommend you get it tested. I've spoken with several people who have had major issues with their Batteries from these guys and most importantly do not accept a pro rata refund. The giant Batteries come with a 5yr warranty. If it develops a major fault you have a right to replacement or full refund. Consumer guarantees take precedent over any false warranty claims that this company states.
