Downgraded to one star because I waited 3 weeks for Aussie Broadband to take my feedback seriously. Oh well, I'm over waiting for a response. It's too expensive for the service we are getting. The reliability is okay, and we have experienced dropouts at times when it was critical for me to have internet connectivity. The technicians are usually… Read more

helpful, and when I first started with Aussie BB, they really were friendly and genuinely interested in helping people, however last time I spoke to a 'person' they sounded rather robotic. When I raised a query that would normally generate a skerrick of empathy or discussion, there was dead silence every time. ABB is not what it used to be, and also, whenever there's a prolonged outage, we never are offered any form of credit for loss of service. I will be looking elsewhere for a better deal.

Previously very happy with ABB but recent events have seriously made me consider switching ISP. Over the last month our wifi has been incredibly laggy and slow. So bad that I am unable to load basic apps, TikTok comments don’t load, etc etc. I have resorted to using mobile data for basically everything. This has coincided with several rounds of… Read more

“maintenance” in our area as well as outages as reported on the ABB website. I have contacted support about this several times and they have been completely unhelpful. As soon as they heard that our router is over 3 years old they decided that was the problem and refused to investigate further. Their only solution was that we needed to connect a device straight to the router with an Ethernet cable and when told that I don’t not possess a device with Ethernet ports so we would need some other method of diagnosing and resolving the issue I was told they couldn’t do anything and that was that. So I guess we’re either just stuck with a terrible service at Aussie Broadband or we go elsewhere and get what we’re actually paying for - or at least customer service representatives who actually want to help.

Aussie Broadband service was excellent. Had communicated with them twice before taking the plunge to join them. The consultants were not hard selling and it was just comfortable dealing with Aussie Broadband. Was informed about the Black Friday sales and to wait for them. Decided to join the 100/20 speed as it was cheaper than the 50/20 speed, at… Read more ·  1

least for 6 months anyway. The 50/20 speed is more expensive than with other ISPs but you pay for the excellent service and it’s well worth it. We received the modem yesterday. It took all of 5 minutes to set it up. We are getting a faster speed than with our previous ISP, possibly due to the TP-Link modem that was supplied 2 years ago. The Aussie Broadband modem is a Netcomm one. It was just plug and play and scan the QR code to get the wifi going. We have hard wired the main computers to the modem router and we are getting a speed of 47mbps. Our maximum line speed is 50. Upload speed is still limited to under 8mbps. We might have to change to a Cat 6a cable rather than the Cat 5 cables that we had. Two Cat 5e cables were supplied in the box as well as the cable for the DSL line. The wifi speed is a little less at about 36-42mbps but much better than the 25-35mbps speed that we were getting with the previous ISP. The Aussie Broadband app is simple to use and a mine full of information. I would recommend Aussie Broadband to anyone who would like a first class service.

Aussie Broadband supplied me with Mobile Phone and Data for a couple of years and I found them to be excellent. I subsequently ordered NBN Fibre to the Home through them. The installation by NBN Co was carried out as promised, the router supplied by Aussie Broadband connected immediately and my connection has been going continuously ever since with speeds exactly as promised. Show details ·  1

Kept informed of preparation for FTTP upgrade. NBN technician called on the day (Friday 1st August) to offer an earlier install time. We agreed and… Read more ·  2

he arrived shortly thereafter (11am). The technician listened to our proposed installation site. He pointed out the optic cable could not negotiate the tightness of bending required. We walked through the house and he suggested a location we had not considered. He reassured us the eero 6 router we had purchased would reach all corners of house, so we agreed. This entailed disturbing brick paving to find telephone line conduit. He successfully inserted cable from Telstra pit some 14 metres distant away. The internal connection box was installed and connected in short time and he re laid the paving satisfactorily. He tidied up and finished around 4.30pm. We were impressed with his professionalism and commitment. Reception has been stable and we were able to visit the sites we frequent with all our devices. Connecting them to modem was seamless, admittedly early days yet.

Follow-up  · The technician was methodical and measured, he didn’t rush his work. There didn’t appear to be any unexpected challenges. All devices worked well, as before; wifi signal certainly reaches all corners of house including in nearby workshop! According to all utube videos I watched, I was expecting installation of an external box as well as internal connection box. Now it is just an internal box (relatively discreet) and a cable.

Follow-up  · Internet speed is good. Wi-Fi reaches all rooms in-house. Data allowance more than adequate. Very satisfied.

had a fault very late at night, was able to send a fault via my app & within 10 mins it was working (after half an hour of trying myself), then I got an email this morning WOW the service is overwhelming AMAZING - I had many, many Internet providers then NBN providers & mobile phone providers but NOTHING has been as wonderful as Aussie Broadband & nothing has been so stress free as Aussie Broadband. The call centre is all Australian but please don’t get it twisted they hire ALL Aussies with or without accents - I too am a person of immigrant parents - so just because they may have an accent it DOES NOT mean they are not in Australia. So please make sure you keep this in mind & not to be rude ‘off the bat’ I want Aussie Broadband to be around for a long time ! Everyone should be with Aussie Broadband- it is simply the BEST & as well for customer service ! Also the value for what you get is amazing !

After a very frustrating experience with another provider, I moved to Aussie Broadband and immediately understood why they are so highly recommended. having the real fault investigated.

Once I joined Aussie Broadband, the difference was clear straight away. Their app offered proper diagnostic tools, not just speed tests. It quickly identified a line connection fault. I raised a support ticket and received a phone call within about an hour. An NBN technician was booked for the very next morning.

The technician attended, fixed the line issue, and I had working internet within 24 hours of joining.

That level of service is outstanding. Fast response, knowledgeable support, and real solutions instead of scripted answers.

Aussie Broadband may not always be the cheapest option, but based on my experience, they are worth it for the customer service alone. Highly recommended.

If you're weighing whether to sign up with Aussie Broadband, you should be alarmed by the company's outright evasiveness on a fundamental privacy issue—particularly ironic given their self-proclaimed status as “most trusted”. Their public privacy policy appears to deliberately omit any clear answers about URL logging. When a direct email was sent… Read more

to the privacy team asking if URLs are logged, the initial reply came from a customer‑service employee who claimed they don’t log your URLs. That statement was offered without any supporting evidence—no official policy or statement, no audit reports, no technical description—just a baseless claim.

When pressed for proof, the employee could not produce a single piece of relevant documentation and abruptly stopped responding once the inconsistency was highlighted.

Further attempts to get clarification from other staff members led to no answer.

Employees were reminded that the Australian Privacy Laws obligate any organisation to disclose what personal information it collects and why. None of them engaged with that legal requirement; instead, they either ignored the request or gave generic, non‑committal answers. This pattern of stone‑walling mirrors a broader, troubling strategy: when a question threatens to expose a possible ethical or legal gap, the company simply refuses to engage, allowing the ambiguity to persist.

The stark contrast between this silence on privacy and the relatively prompt replies to billing queries underscores how low a priority the company places on disclosure about user data.

When I reached out to the official privacy contact that multiple employees mentioned, Aussie Broadband gave no response.

If URLs are indeed being logged, the lack of transparency means you could be subjected to undisclosed profiling, targeted advertising, or data sharing with third parties—all without informed consent and it seems, in breach of Australian law.

While the company maintains its official B Corp certification—ostensibly demonstrating ethical standards—it demonstrates a complete disregard for ethical alignment in this particular matter. This suggests the certification functions merely as a meaningless sticker, serving as performative ethics rather than reflecting any genuine commitment to ethical business practices. In fact, my experience with the company seems to suggest moral decay.

For shoppers who care about digital privacy, this conduct should be a decisive red flag. Until Aussie Broadband provides a verifiable, written statement confirming that no URL logging occurs—and backs that claim with concrete evidence—their privacy practices remain suspect.

Consider alternative providers that publish clear data‑handling policies and respond responsibly to privacy inquiries. If you still contemplate using Aussie Broadband, keep detailed records of all correspondence; those will be essential if you need to lodge a formal complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

In short, the company’s baseless denial, refusal to supply proof, and overall avoidance of legal disclosure requirements reveal a disturbing willingness to conceal answers from the public and it should give any privacy‑concerned consumer serious cause for concern.

Bad experience. Ordered 100/20 internet service online and purchased a modem outright. The website advised the modem would be delivered within one week. It was delivered to my billing address in Sydney instead of my service address in Townsville. I rung the company and was advised it was my fault as I gave my billing address as Sydney. I had no apology and no offer to rectify the problem. I was told that I would have to sort out transport to Townsville. In the meantime they are going to charge me for using the broadband service. If I stop the service I would have to call back to restart it and spend another hour of my time organising the restart. So much for giving the local Aussie doer a go.

Poor customer service. Would be on hold for over 30 minutes with no answer. Technical support was never helpful, would always be in the too hard basket, would never be able to stream anything or use more than 1 device, despite what level plan I was paying for. Would request support. But never received any as they states only to fix wireless, but it was always unsuccessful. Was paying $95 for 20mbps. Show details
