Disappointed in Service
Our suburb was changed to getting our post delivered every two days, which is okay if we received better service but now the posties rarely come to the door to deliver tracked items/parcels. In fact I think the service has gotten worse.
Instead of coming to the door, they jam the letters/parcels in the letterbox causing some of them to tear. We even had a parcel left in the top of the letterbox which was hanging out where anyone walking past could just have easily grabbed it.
We had a postie slam a parcel on his bike once because he couldn'...
Read moret fit it in the letterbox, which actually meant he had to get off his bike to come to the door. We have had damaged cds because they try and squeeze items in our letterbox that don't fit. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to see that. We had one postie nearly tear our letterbox down because he couldn't fit something in and kept trying to jam it which meant it was pushing our letterbox. As the letterbox was locked, he got annoyed so he had to come to the door, which he should have done in the first place. We also had the same postie ride his bike right up to our porch (it's only a small porch) to ring the doorbell and deliver a post. We just had our render fixed on the wall and he was so close to this render, he could have easily damaged our property, not to mention trying to squeeze past our cars. Our door from the footpath is not more than 5metres long, so not a long walk for him. We decided to put in a complaint to Australia post about the above incident, however, never again will I do that. When the postie returned the next time, he decided it would be a great idea to have a go at us, at our front door regarding that complaint. His argument was that he doesn't have time to get off his bike for every house, not that would happen like that anyway. However, he stood at our front door for 15mins trying to explain to us that although he loves his job, he can't find another job and that he needs to stay. He also complained that they are trying to get him to deliver parcels on his bike which he doesn't like to do. He said he was a postie for over 20years. When he spoke he had excessive spit in the corner of his mouth and on a few occasions in that 15 minutes that spit decided to fly at us. He didn't do it in purpose, but gross all the same.1 comment

Delivered to the wrong address
I just want to ask the question" why don`t you start employing people that can read address correctly "Other day I had someone else parcel delivered to my address, correct number but not the street, today someone drops off my parcel, it was delivered to wrong address, again correct number but not the street. Do your employees know only how to read the number... Clyde area has streets not just numbers. Educate them to read the letters not just numbers because this is gone far beyond any understanding of how many wrong deliveries, no one has anymore trust in Australian post

Careless, Incompetent, Useless, Dismissive, Disinterested And Disgusting
After countless negative experiences (spanning YEARS) with this useless, poor excuse for a company the straw that broke the camel's back finally landed today. Today I decided that never again will I pay their ridiculously exorbitant postage fees. Never again will I hand over an important item and assume it will be delivered safely just because I'd paid an exorbitant fee to ensure that outcome. Never. Ever. Again.
What was the final straw? Well, that was an important item I posted on Thursday the 18th of February. It only had to travel a d...
Read moreistance of 160km (Toowoomba 4350 to Margate 4019) and should have arrived at its destination on Monday the 21st or Tuesday the 22nd at the latest. Instead, the tracking information has had it "in transit to next facility in BRISBANE AIRPORT QLD" since the 19th of February. This hasn't changed in the last 3 days. No-one I've spoken to at Australia Post seems to know or care why this has happened. All they've given me is empty apologies and no help whatsoever. They've told me it's still within the delivery time frame (I guess that time frame is based on their own low standards) and if it hasn't arrived by next Tuesday then I need to let them know. I repeat: Australia Post is careless, incompetent, useless, dismissive and above all, disinterested. Their prices keep climbing (for example, it cost me $10 to send one sheet of A4 paper express to Melbourne two weeks ago) and their service just gets worse. I've had as much as I can take of their incompetence so in future I'll be using Sendle when I need to post something. Sendle managed to get a parcel delivered to me overnight from Sydney AND it was cheaper. That is how a postal service should operate. So it's adios Australia Post, you'll never see another cent from me, that's a promise.3 comments

Bizzare times a and COVID is nice excuse for mismanagement
Now 2 weeks delay and counting for the parcel from Melb to Sydney. It is just ghosted with Auspost claiming that item was not dispatched by sender and sender claiming that item was dispatched. While I’m waiting for this parcel I sent another parcel from Sydney to QLD and also received another parcel from VIC within normal time like 2 biz days... bizarre times and complete absence of customer service.. is it hard to arrange work from home and look in the system? Company I work for went 100% from home in 3 days... it is not hard... just require decent management...

Disgrace and disaster
After taking time off work to be home for a delivery that 'could not be safe dropped' (not by my choice!!) I had to chase after contractor's van who tried to ignore me running! What a joke has Australia Post become. The bloke lied to my face trying to say that he KNOCKED. I hear him sticking the stupid card in my door, surely I would have been able to hear him knocking - he DIDN'T. He snuck a card and tried to run to make me line up at a PO shop to get my item. Really, Australia Post, you are pathetic.

Prices going up again!
As a struggling business resorting to small time online selling to stay afloat, I find Australia Post amazes me that they can cry poor holding out one hand saying people don't send letters anymore so they up the price of stamps and reduce the number of days they deliver (but they say nothing about how much they are racking in with the other hand given parcel deliveries and online sales were taking off).... then came covid and it really boomed with online sales, they even put on more staff to cope. Most companies recover extra staffing and logis...

MyPost Business beware of damaged goods claims process
Aust Post have an outdated claims process. Although you pay for extra cover for full value of the article being sent.
(Quote): Aust Post will not process a claim with photo evidence, your customer is required to take the item and packaging to a Postal Manager at a corporate post office, not LPO, for a third party damage assessment to be conducted and can make packaging recommendations for future parcels. (End quote)
This process encourages businesses to rethink if the additional 'Extra insurance' for items over $100 is serving the purpose.

Read moreed to see the parcels ourselves, I know this may seem like a huge hassle already for your customers but photos are just not enough evidence so we need to see the damage ourselves and hold the parcel until we reach an outcome. If we see the parcel is not packaged adequately then we will not pay compensation as it's the sender responsibility to ensure the right packaging is used. Can you please let me know what kind of items you're sending and the packaging? Any more info you can provide me about what's happening with your parcels will help as well.Hello Priscila,
I apprecate your prompt response....
Read more The problem was one single damaged low cost item, the first claim we have had with Aust Post. My concern now is what if the damaged item was far more expensive. The package was securely wrapped and accepted at LPO. We have sent hundreds of the same product with Aust Post without incident. According to the receiving customer the package was in perfect order, however believed the item was hit very hard to bend the product. My problem with the Aust Post damage claim process is the archaic 'in person' inspection. This certainly does not fit with the current contactless climate. I agree with your mention of adequate packing being the responsability of the sender but don't agree with the assumption. If Aust Post accept the package that should be evidence of packaging. I also agree that it is the responsability of your service to deliver the item in the same condition as sent, particularly because the insurance is for that purpose. If Aust Post are going to throw it back on the business seller as 'in adequate packaging' as first response the insurance $100s we pay is useless. I would not request any of my customers to physically take the item and packaging to a corporate manager because l value my customers and have no reason to question their integity and the travel to have inspection would be a huge variable. Are Aust Post prepared to reimburse the customer for their time, travel and klms expenses on top of the goods value and postal expenses. So wrong to blame the victim. Perhaps Aust Post may contact the receiving customer directly to arrange a suitable time for the inspector to visit the receiver, or is it to be assumed that Aust Post believe employees time more valuable than the receivers time. Remember the reveiver has done nothing wrong, they had a damaged item delivered along with disappointment, so why punish them and question the integrity of their claim. Aust Post should only be dealing with the booking party for claims. Rather than defending the outdated policy better for Aust Post to be part of a change to make your customers happy. Simply put, we paid Aust Post for a service that was not provided. The booking party/sender is Aust Posts customer, not the receiver. I recommend Aust Post go contactless for damage claims.Priscila L.Australia Post

Do Not Even Think About Choosing Australia Post
- Australia Post takes more than one week to deliver a small item from one suburb to another within the same city

Are the postal delivery personnel the laziest bunch or what? Fully supported by Australia Post!
I have complained about the issue of not getting parcels (large and small) delivered to my door countless times! I am mostly home, so that excuse won't work! So have others, in my circle of acquaintance!
It means that us oldies especially, have to turn up at our post office and cart around at times heavy parcels because the lazy postal delivery personnel can't be bothered to deliver the parcels to our door!
Do I (we) ever hear back from Australia Post? Never! It is just ignored and the practice continues unabated! An absolute shocker as far as service to the public is concerned!

I live in Karratha Western Australia, my parcel was picked up from sender in Sydney on10/2, Most recent update, on my parcel tracking ''Delayed – waiting to be processed for delivery'', what does that mean? This is the first time I have seen that message, on my post tracking. Karratha residents have been complaining for the past 12 months, about how long it takes to receive parcels, with Aus post, it has gone from 1 to 2 weeks at the most, to approx. 4 to 5 weeks, if you are lucky. And the my post tracking appears to be useless now, used to be able to track a parcel quite well, now it basically just shows picked up from courier, in transit, and when it is ready at post office to collect, or has gone out for delivery to residence, besides the messages that constantly appear to say delivery delays. There appears to be plenty of excuses from Aus post, but no resolution?

Hey Mitch,
The first time it passes through a processing facility might not be until it's reached Brisbane so I'd expect it's currently in transit up to you and shouldn't be too far off.
Hopefully it'll even be out for delivery to you tomorrow but it may be early next week. If there aren't any further tracking updates still by Monday or Tuesday, I'd recommend letting your sender know you are still waiting so that they can follow up with us for you.
