Don't bother. Australia post will discontinue the travel sim from end of June.

Good information thanks for that will be home by then on 22nd June so might just make it rather than paying for another one.

I believe if you do not top the card up it is canceled by AusPost. I now use Esims and they work even better than physical sims. Yes after June AusPost no longer work.

It's an option when you register. My advice, AVOID AT ALL COST. It's a nightmare, didn't work overseas in Canada. Still not resolved with Australia Post.

Interesting - I used in USA and Canada 5 yrs ago and had no problems at all

Don't use the Auspost travel Sim it was absolutely useless in South America, but magically started working as soon as I arrived at Sydney

This was the worst prepaid service I ever had. Never again.

I didn't receive an email or any other advice that the travel sim was ending. It was only when I went to top up my account that I found I could not log onto the website. I lost about $125.00 as you had to top up every six months or something like that to keep your account active but due to Covid we could not travel. This is very poor form from Australia Post. After I found travel sim had ended I asked what had happened at my local post office. The people there did not know anything about it other than they were getting complaints. Apparently travel sim was not run by AP but by a company overseas. I have yet to find out how to get my money back.

Hi John, I wouldn't recommend posting your mobile number here as this is a public website and anyone can view it. I'm really sorry but I'm not able to pass your number on to the TravelSIM team. They are a separate team to the Aus Post customer service team and the only way to reach them is on 1300 881 710.

If this is in regards to a balance refund, there is no time limit for this to be processed so I'd recommend calling that number once you are able to make out going calls.

I'm afraid that the card itself you won't be able to keep using, but if you reach out to some other Travel SIM or local phone providers, you can ask about transferring the number to their services.

Hi Kate, Yes, TravelSIM customers were contacted via email on 11 March 2021 to advise that the service will be ending. TravelSIM's phone number is 1300 881 710 so if that's the number they are advising you to call in the email you received then yes, it's all good :)

Hi David, The service will definitely end but I'm not sure about asking for bank details, we have been told that if you have positive credit you are entitled to a refund at any time but to 100% I recommend that you call the TravelSim team on 1300 881 710.

Yes but I have just received an email 11/03/2021 saying they are withdrawing my service as at 31/03/2021. Not sure if they are closing down or just don't like me.

Put it into phone and a network will come up - mine actually worked whilst in Australia so thought all good, but got overseas and didn't work at all

I'm sorry I don't know, but from memory when overseas it uses whatever the local signal carrier is so I'd suppose the same may apply here but uncertain?

There's an aus post help desk free call they'd know more I just recalled, they were very helpful to me.

The travel sim app is specific to that SIM so no other app will work but you should not need the app to activate the SIM.

I didnt use the app at all when I had the SIM.

If you are still in Australia its best to contact Australia post about it.

Call Australia Post Travelsim or email them, they will fix it. My daughter had the same problens and they fixed the issue.

Thanks. I ended up ringing and got it all sorted very quickly. Turns out he only had his data turned on and not data roaming as well... simple fix

I just did it on the plane before landing at Heathrow.

You could install but from what I remember the time left for using the SIM only starts from when you first use it.
