usually late and when asked to speak with representatives over the phone they often never got back to you, especially the people you needed to communicate with for a resolution. Get used to communicating only through emails. They don't tell you this before purchase either. This experience turned ugly the moment I sought reimbursement to bring in my own electrician to determine whether I had an electrical fault. It turns out that I did not. I was advised by AOL to use my own electrian ( not the electrician contrated by AOL) who did the elctrical piece in the first place. So they dont tell you this before you purchase the blinds. That the customer will have to throw down approx $240 to determine if there is an electrical fault (as their 1st troubleshooting step) they had enforced on me. Say bye bye to that money ! What a con. The AOL contracted electrician report also drew the conclusion that the leaves in the gutter was the problem. Yes , I acknowledge there were leaves in the gutters when they finally came to fix the blind but they were not there when I first reported this issue in late 2025. I believe this is an assumption and not fact. It is a new house and the gutters were only just installed when the blinds were installed. Anyway, lesson learned. Do you due diligence. I would recommend you don't focus on the colourful good review, but rather the much lower scored reviews. I personally can relate to the lower scored reviews with this business. Knowing what I know now, my short story and conclusion is find another business.

measurements were worked towards in real time and adjustments made (by us). And then communicated back to our ‘contact’ at Australian Outdoor Living. These adjustments were not communicated to trades leaving us once again to communicate changes and manipulations to ensure the correct installation. The wrong lawn was delivered. Weeds grew through our outdoor lawn within 2 weeks, phone calls to check warranty specifics informed us that this was not covered and instead we were told that the onus was on us to ensure a weed treatment was requested in the preparation process. We were taken aback to say the least, believing that weed treating should have been standard practise. Tradies were redirected midway through projects to other jobs, pushing out timeframes and completion dates. Multiple phone calls chasing payments for materials not yet delivered and jobs not yet completed was consistent throughout the 3 month period of our backyard lawn/patio/deck installation. The quality of materials (labelled Ausdeck) on delivery was good. The construction work of sub contracted tradesmen- also good. Australian Outdoor Living provide the illusion through sales people that multiple elements of the job will blend seamlessly and easily, project managed by a central contact to oversee it all. In reality multiple different people are responsible for small elements of each task, not communicating with each other to gauge a thorough overall picture and instead the back and forth is continual and draining to the point of exhaustion. Australian Outdoor Living over-promises and under-delivers. We have a backyard that looks good, however the joy of the project was lost as a direct result of error, miscommunication and lack of customer service.

Then when I commented on the rude way he was speaking to us, he had a tantrum stated this wasn’t the job for him and called me an “fxxxing c” on his way down my driveway thinking I couldn’t hear him.
