Babyhood Bambino Dormire Questions & Answers
VerifiedAfter using the Portacot only a few times over the past two years, base does not lock on assembly. Have followed the instructions each time to assemble and dismantle. Please advise what to do.
One of the long rails of the cot won't unlock. Please help.
Hi, Thank you for contacting us. Please refer to the instruction manual or the printed instructions on the base of the portacot. The arm needs to be lifted lightly and then the button compressed to fold the arm down. Make sure the base is unlocked and raised before attempting to unlock the arms.

Hi there- the best thing I did was contact Babyhood directly - they talked me through over the phone exactly how the cot opens and closes. I am sure they can explain it to you. Good luck

How do I put the portacot in bassinet mode?
Does this product meet voluntary as well as mandatory Australian standards?
Yes Its to Australian standards for a portacot.
Thank you but you haven’t fully answered my question. There are also voluntary standards which you can comply with as Australian standards are not fully adequate. Does this product meet the additional voluntary standards?
According to Choice this meets standard guidelines (now of two identified and tested by choice experts) but not the stricter voluntary standards. I am Yet to find a portable cot that meets both!
Up to what age is this cot suitable for please?
Cots are usually weight-rated rather than age dependent. For this cot the ratings are as below. Maximum Weight: Basinette level : new born to 8kgs Porta cot level : 18kgs More info at external link Though it says up to 8kg for the bassinette, baby will usually have started to roll or sit up before they hit the maximum weight in which case they will need to be moved to the lower level anyway.
The 18kg weight could place a child anywhere between 3-5 years (or more) so they may have long since outgrown their cot by then. A child's height and ability will also play a roll in how long they might remain in a cot eg. are they too long for the cot or can they climb out easily.
