Baccarat Ceramic Eco Questions & Answers
VerifiedActually Andy78_2 years ago, in your comment " not worth the hassle". I came to this site due to Baccarat using the term Ceramix " in a current (Feb 2021) frypan range. I cant find what it is. But I wondered how it performed also. Many thanks for your previous contribution. May I ask whether it is still being used? Or can anyone else reply what it is?
I’m still using it. I found that heating the pan throughout, then pour a bit of oil before stir frying anything. Fir frying eggs, I would recommend as it will stick!
Thank-You! Yes! I have learnt that egg proteins will bond, unless prevented, by wiping the inside down with even the thinnest smear of fat/oil. And also if pan not properly washed, (i.e with suds detergent to break down "invisible" particles adhering to the non-stick surface, which egg-proteins especially, will bond to) You seem to have nailed the problem on yr own - well done!
I bought a 26cm Baccarat Bio+ frypan around 12mths ago and is has developed an orange colour build up on the bottom of the frying pan. How do I remove this without scratching it? And where can I buy a 26cm lid for it, as the shop never had any when I bought it and everywhere I look hasn't either.
I recently bought a Baccarat Bio+ from Robins Kitchen and the lid from my Raco Frying pan fits on the Baccarat Bio+ Frying pan. If it is the bottom on the outside that needs cleaning, try to use a paste of Vinegar and Bi-carp to clean it, or a Chuck sponge, that cleans beautifully.
Given a large pan last year as a gift and when unpacked the handle fell off. Has never been used. Took to a local homewares shop and they were surprised when shown and told me to contact the company. I put it away and forgot about it, and have been reminded and brought it out again and tried to find a phone number for Baccarat but after reading the reviews I wonder if I should just forget about it. Certainly not going to send back interstate to the people who gave it to us as they would be upset.
Why don't you give them call, I did and the guy there replaced it for me. No questions asked.
i have a yellow and green bio+ baccarat frypans the cooking is fine but when i wash them in the dishwasher the cast aluminiun on the base leaves black soot on my teatowels when i dry them to put them away why is this??? i use finish powerball all in one for the detergent hope you can help
Hi, I would say it's because you are washing it in the dishwasher and the finish powerball could have some harsh chemicals in it that is making the aluminium do that. I only ever wash my frypans (whatever they are made of) with hot soapy water. I also dry mine straight away which was a recommendation from another non-stick pan I bought. Try that and see how you go.
You should not wash any non stick pans in the dishwasher. The dishwashing tablets are very harsh (to get everything clean without scrubbing). And at the high pressure that the water is shot around, it is actually abrasive and will damage your non stick coatings (and dulls the blades of knives).
I work in a kitchen shop, and there are a handfull of things we tell each customer before leaving with any cookware; non stick, stainless steel, carbon steel whatever.. Don't use it in the dishwasher. A lot of the cookware will say that they are dishwasher safe, but all the reps from the companies will tell us not to use them in the dishwasher. The dishwashers use extremely high heats and the detergents/powders used in them are extremely abrasive. Always hand wash them in clean hot soapy water with a strong nylon bristled dish brush - Circulon do a great one!, and dry immediately. If you have a build up of oils or suaces, once you take the pan off the heat run it under hot water from the tap to create a steam bath. This will help the food to release from the pan while you eat :) Don't put them on high heats as you can burn the non sticks, and buckle stainless steel pans - they will still reach a high temperature, but it will just take a little longer to heat up. Don't use any kind of metal utensil on your non stick cookware - even if it says you can.Just use nylon, wooden or silicone utensils as there is no chance of scratching or slipping to a scratch on the pan - this goes for using knives or forks to check your food. Don't use the spray oils that yuo buy from the supermarkets. They have propelants in them to pull the oil from the can. these propellants stick to the pans which are extremely hard to clean off and eventually build up on the pan; also the propellants are semi toxic and bad for you. The oils in these cans also burn very quickly in the pan, so you often end up cooking in burnt oils, and continue to burn the oils into the pan. you can get pressure pumps from most cookware shops for around$10-$20 which you fill with your own oils, and pump up and down, the pressure releasing the oil through they sprayer. I hope this helps a few people :)
I was all my 3 frying pans by hand. Very easy. Once they have cooled down I clean them out with paper towel and then poor some hot water and a few drops of dish washing liquid in let it stand if necessary and with a brush or a non-scratch scrub cloth, I clean it out and rinse with warm water and let air dry. The are all still looking like new even though the 2 Raco frying pans are 2 years old.
