Since the 27th of May 2026, I've made multiple calls to Belong regarding the constant drop out of my internet connection. 1st call (27th May 2026): Was told that the area was undergoing known maintenance and the problem should be fixed soon and 'no need to call back' as the problem is being addressed. 2nd call (28th May 2026): Was told that… Read more

the modem was the problem as it is outdated and I would have to purchase a new one. Was told to confirm before buying so that compatibility was confirmed.

3rd call (28th May 2026): Called to confirm modem compatibility, was told that it would work and to call during set up at home.

4th call (28th May 2026) last call made: Called to set up. Was told then that the modem wasn't compatible. Then after 40 mins of conversation, the modem did work but the problem was not fixed. Additional: I took the original 'Belong' modem to my friend's home to test it, and experienced no dropouts. Which means, now I have spent money for a modem that wasn't originally required. Towards the end of the call, when the representative saw the dropouts were still happening...they said they would escalate this but I would have to wait 2-5 business days before a complaint representative would get back to me. Till then, I am expected to just keep having this issue and constantly drop off my calls till someone can assist?

That router has since proven worse as of this e-mail, as it doesn't even pick up after a dropout of the internet. I have since has to replace it with the old one as it would at least give me 5 mins of internet at a time before dropping out.

I was told by the last representative that I will be called back in regards to this soon. I'm hoping someone reads this before calling back because depending on the response I receive, I might have to reach out to a telecommunication ombudsman as I feel this case has led me to make purchases for things that weren't even faulty.

Update 29/5: I had to call back as the issue was still ongoing. Got told we're performing diagnostics, we'll call you back in 4 hrs to check in. Still facing drop outs

Ordered an upgraded plan for an Airbnb property we are staying in, and they were quick to sort that out and start charging more. However, they did not ask a simple question about the modem to ensure it could handle the jump to the Premium service. Plan rolls out, and the modem can't handle it and goes haywire. trying to revert to the original plan, as it is too troublesome, and the advice is that they will not repair the issue they have created until the next billing period. I look forward to taking this case to the Telecommunications Ombudsman for further consideration. Yet another disappointing experience with tech support, service and issue resolution from Belong.

terrible. If we are not online by tomorrow, we are looking elsewhere. Since this time, we went with another provider Swoop, the initial request for internet connection was logged on Tuesday, the modem was dispatched the same day, it arrived on Friday and we were online within 5 minutes of the modem arriving, all up it took 3 and a half days to get online, it can be done!

 Follow-up  · Was support helpful? Not really, they seem to follow a set script with no deviation I feel. No they didn't provide updates unless I spent a long time in the queue chasing them up! The delay was caused by their processes which seem to be let's not rush into doing anything smoothly.

Good deal! Expect exactly what you pay for – Pretty reliable connection with some connection drops in the 3 months I've been using the service. Decent speed during the night. unfortunately, the modem did not arrive until Monday. So I suggest signing up on a Monday or Tuesday or you may end up with no internet over the weekend.

EDIT - I am now with Aussie Broadband.

gave up trying to get issue resolved. BUT BELONG HAVE BEEN PERSISTENT with helping me get the connection and voucher issues sorted due to their being multiple buildings in the complex. And their data speeds have consistently been above par, which is the issue i had with Optus during a brief and regrettable change. I feel that Belong win with the reliability of Telstra as the provider, they provide superior customer support to any provider i have dealth with. Joy and Harim thank you.

I had for 2 years (approximately) a NBN plan. After 2 years, they detected that my unit was unable to receive and works with the Speed I was paying. Then, they gave me the information and also they refund me $579 aud. I never had a problem with them. The customer service via phone was always good with few or not long waiting time attention. This is not a one-off issue or an occasional outage — it is a constant problem that makes the service completely unreliable. I work from home and it is impossible… Read more

to work with internet of this poor quality. Video calls disconnect, meetings fail, files don’t upload, and online platforms crash at the worst possible moments. The level of frustration caused by depending on this connection is unacceptable in today’s world.

What makes this even worse is that no one takes responsibility for the money and time lost due to these constant outages. The hours of work ruined, the professional opportunities affected, and the stress caused by this service are simply ignored. Customer support offers generic responses and no real solutions.

I live in North Bondi, and the experience has been terrible from day one. If you are considering Belong and live in Bondi Beach or nearby areas, do yourself a favor and do not sign up. This service is not fit for purpose.

I strongly advise anyone who needs stable internet — especially for work — to avoid Belong at all costs. I would never recommend this provider to anyone and cannot wait to switch to a company that actually delivers a reliable connection.

lines, however I find that it’s quite intermittent drops out and not that great, we’re not paying for the lowest tear either so you would imagine you’d be getting good value especially using Telstra. I left Telstra to come to Belong and it is definitely not worth the hassle and to continue every 3 to 6 months to have your plan raised is absolutely Ridiculous.

Notifying the customer at 9:30 about an internet interruption that started at 8:20? The notification should have been sent earlier so we could plan ahead. I have a meeting now, and I’ve been stuck at home without internet. Very poor service. The internet is not reliable, and I’ve recently missed several meetings due to outages. Not recommended — I’m changing my provider.

Terrible service rip off at 90 per month slow always broken. No call centre. Outages without compensation for lost time on plan. Disconnect you if you 3days late with paying for the month in advance. Sub company to Telstra ofcourse. Start prices originally was 50 per month and 5 years later it's 90 per month for slower service. Go elsewhere. Show details

minutes of troubleshooting, the lady says “oh your service got suspended, you have to wait for (some team, I don’t remember the name) and this will take 4-24 hours).”

No body else that I called said that it was cause my service got suspended.

Last lady I talked to I refused to do more trouble shooting and time wasting, she said “I can book a technician for you, but I need you to trouble shoot first”

I asked her if she would like me to smash my modem against the wall instead.

Nasty company, they read off scripts. Changing services asap

Straight up appalling – This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I have been a belong customer for many many years, however over the last 1-2 years the performance of our internet has been sub par at best. We have raised a number of tech issues and complaints without avail. All we ever receive is the usual “what are the lights on the modem showing” “we have… Read more

stabilised your internet it is working for us now”. The technician are clearly reading off a script and have no actual IT qualification or experience. After speaking with them if they manage to improve the internet, the high speed only ever lasts for a few moments before dropping again. Most recently we have been without internet for a week, we keep getting told it’s fine, we were also lied to and told a technician attended our property when we have cameras and can verify that they had not attended. I had also been advised earlier that day by a different consultant that the technician has been cancelled. This company will just run you in circles until you can’t be bothered dealing with it anymore. The charge for a service they don’t have the ability to provide. DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THEM.

Slow services and no service at all – We had 50mbps internet but some days it would be very slow and upon checking it would show only 20mbps supplied and sometime no internet at all. Also, one time, no internet, the team said due to heavy rain, it might have hampered the connectivity. complaint they sent someone new out and gave me my first month free. Time went on and then had to disconnect because I was moving and I didn't know when I would have a stable place. So when that time came around, no issue reconnected. However over the many years that I've been with Belong their prices keep going up and their customee service keeps going down! my payment in advance, but failed to provide me with the internet service I paid for. When I asked for a refund, I was given the runaround and ultimately told that they couldn't refund my money. So, not only was I left without internet, but I was also out of pocket for a service I never received.

Overall, my experience with Belong was terrible, and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. They are unorganised, unhelpful, and seem more interested in taking your money than being a reliable ISP
