with bendigo just don't you will regret it. The 3 months (yes 3 entire months!) it took them to open our account in the first place should have been a big red flag. Logging into the Bendigo online portal is incredibly frustrating - you cannot go online without your mobile phone so if your phone has run out of battery or is not with you cannot access your banking - you're cooked. You cannot alter a direct debit online. You cannot cancel a direct debit online. When you call their call centre you can never get through - its a minimum 1 hour wait. I have just ticked over into 1.45 hours on the phone today - the first call took them 1 hour to return my call as I gave up waiting after 1/2 hour. This time I have been on hold for maybe 30 minutes and I assume I will either get cut off or be holding for a minimum of 30+ more minutes. I bet you when I get through for some reason they won't be able to help me. With Bendigo EVERYTHING is 10 times more difficult than with any other bank. Seriously the most S**T bank I have ever had to endure. Incredibly frustrated.

Good home loan rate and okay online portal. But on boarding and leaving were both terrible experiences. I had to attend a branch twice to have my accounts set up. They stuffed up my discharge paperwork, cost me a rate rise and had to call 3 seperate times (one of which I was on hold for 50 minutes before speaking to someone) when leaving. Bendigo Bank's service has really gone down hill. It took 3 hours to get through on the phone following a problem with a transaction, They changed the number of an account I have had for 10 years and said I have to ring to them to set up a password. The person who finally took the call said 'find a local branch and go there'. This has taken hours and hours of time and I am still not able to access my account.

Unsafe and uncaring – Substandard security has seen many customers stolen from by hackers and the bank has absolutely no ability to stop this and refuses to help recover or refund any losses. You guys are an absolute joke.. outages all the time and what's worse during the day and weekends when people need you online the most.. Banks are trying to kill of cash but this online nonsense proves how much we really need to keep cash and p*ss you banks off...

They paid $2000 to settle my complaint to AFCA! – I tried to get a homeloan from them. They made countless mistakes and I sent them 40 emails and countless phone calls to follow up. complaint with them and they came back saying "We have done nothing wrong". I then lodged a complaint with Australian Financial Complaints Authority. They speedily paid $2000 to settle it!

patiently rang their 1300 number only to be waiting over 30mins during which I rang on a phone to my branch to be told that passwords can't be changed over the phone. I am 73 years old and not able to just jump in the car and go. The branch is 17 klms away. I finally arrived and I have now been assured that this temp password was key to my prays. I arrived home and proceeded on my android tablet to change my password, so far so good. No this did not resolve anything. I ring the 1300 number again and let it go for 10 mins and hung up. This shows you that the bank is pretty useless. It's another trip to the bank in the morning. This time if no gain,I will look into closing my account.

Easy to open accounts – I had a credit card but had not got around to opening an account to go with it and every time I went into the branch they were too busy for an appointment. So did it on line and it was so easy - should have done it that way before.

He then tried to google it but still didnt know. Finally I found the instructions on their website and showed him. Bendigo Bank the NO service bank. The website advises to call immediately if you have been scammed. I have called within 2 minutes and I am now one hour and 45 minutes still waiting for my call to be answered. They tell you to treat their team with dignity and respect in the phone recording while keeping their customers waiting for hours for service that we are charged for. Where is the dignity and respect to your customers Bendigo Bank???

recently deleted my application and now I’m unable to log into my account. I’ve called customer service twice and received inconsistent support. One representative said they couldn’t verify my identity, while another said they couldn’t assist me with the issue at all. The lack of clear communication and consistent service has been very frustrating. I expected better support when dealing with something as important as banking access.

bills and check if money has come in ASAP. Today 11/02/26 I phoned to speak to someone at Bendigo. Previously I waited to speak to someone(three days ago) and it was ages, so today I made the choice to get a call back. that was at 13:21 it is now15:26 and I still have not had a call back. I am now again on the phone(yet again having been told they are so busy), I chose to wait rather than have a call back. THIS IS DISGRACEFUL WAY TO TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS as if my time is any fecking less important than your obviously under staffed call centre! I tried my branch who are awesome but they can not help me so I have no option but to wait and wait and wait WTH love being angry frustrated waiting all the while listening to this debacle of customer service expounding their awesome services. How most trusted by farmers and NO 1 Legendary customer service in some awards for 2025. WHAT A JOKE seems to have stopped! What a disgrace that the CEO and MANAGEMENT have fully lost the plot! I will be removing the app of my phone as its a nightmare. So still on hold and its 17 minutes and going on and on and on. 15:46 I get a call back and hung up the second call that I began 20mins ago and GUESS WHAT IM ON HOLD !! STILL ON THEIR CALL BACK!! So tomorrow I will have to fit in somehow going to my local branch in my nearest location (I live rurally) and continue to deal with this, as I can not cope with even attempting to ring the call centre again! Bendigo Bank is no longer about the people in rural communities who got it up and running through OUR money but since merging is just like any of the other banks. The phone just rang 16:05 the person I was talking to rang back Im so frustrated, especially she begins by saying she needs to ask me security questions!! WHAT she rang me she had been talking with me we had gone through the security questions. Im so at the end of my d#mn limit with this st^pidity. I know its not the customer service employee fault, I know it. Rationally I know it to access my account I have just reached my limit and am not happy she tells me if I dont basically settle blah blah, I gave up and hung up. A trip into my branch tomorrow is now a necessity. More time over 8 hours I have spent on hold or waiting for call backs from Bendigo bank in the last week.

Disingenuous … Whilst you’re waiting for ever to get phone service ..the recording tells customers to please treat staff with curtesy and respect …that’s no problem! Yet how about you Bendigo management treat your customers with curtesy and respect ….all you need to do is put on more phone staff to speed up the service.

I had proof of delivery. Bendigo Bank’s response was shocking: “That’s between you and the other party.” In other words, they admitted they weren’t interested in facts, evidence, or fairness.

When I asked the obvious question—“Then why are you closing my account?”—the representative coldly replied: “The decision is final.” No investigation. No dialogue. No respect. Just a blunt execution of my account based on hearsay.

This is not fraud prevention. This is negligence. Bendigo Bank punished me despite clear proof of legitimacy. They silenced me, ignored evidence, and treated me like a criminal without cause.

The reality is terrifying: Bendigo Bank can close your account based on an unverified phone call, refuse to consider your proof, and dismiss you with the words “decision is final.” That is not banking—it is reckless abuse of power.

Final warning: Bendigo Bank is unsafe, untrustworthy, and contemptuous of its customers. If they can do this to me, they can do it to anyone. Customers deserve protection, not persecution. Bendigo Bank has proven they offer neither.

This bank recently purchased AFG home loans. Having abolished the phone app 18 months in advance and replacing it with nothing, they then implement a new phone app and totally abolish the desktop banking interface. What a disgrace. This bank cares nothing for its customers. Don't get involved with them if you have a choice.

Warning! DO NOT GO TO BENDIGO BANK FOR BUSINESS. I decided to go to Bendigo Bank for a bank guarantee for a lease to punish Westpac for its fees and not picking up the phone at the branch I had been doing business in for 6 years for its lack of service. I tried to call Bendigo Bank to make sure they could provide this and do it in the 4 weeks… Read more

required and ensure the fees were less than Westpac and interest higher. I failed to get any consistent information from the phone line and they would not transfer me to business area for some unknown reason. My branch gave me different information from the phone service and I should have just stopped and crawled back to Westpac. I had a month to set this up before needing to deliver a bank guarantee. In the end it took 6 weeks, dozens of phone calls, many emails to push this process along. I was given apologies at one state because it had not been allocated, told it had been lost, even some gaslighting that it was my fault as I didn't go to the branch. In the end I had to provide the money in trust to a law firm to secure the lease, costing me more money in legal fees and I had an extra $26k tied up in a bond until Bendigo Bank did their job. Then to add insult to injury it cost me more than Westpac as they had not told me about the all the fees (just some of them). In the end I complained and said I wanted to speak to a manager and was assured they would call. I'm still waiting. It was unbelievably bad and it really felt like a bank "playing at" being a bank. Just don't do it. Small business is hard enough in Australia without dealing with amateurs.

haven't had banking for three days now tried to ring last Friday now answer just sat on the phone for over 63 minutes till I got fed up, tried over the weekend no success so I rang today just to sit on the phone for more than 58 minutes (1300 236 344). I hung up and rang the local number (02 6041 1104) just to get a message that they cannot answer the call at the moment. I then rang the number on the card (1800 035 383) Just to follow the prompts and be put through to the same area that I started from and now on hold, so far for 27 minutes listing messages how good Bendigo bank is and what they offer. How frustrating so today I give you a 1 star only because I cannot go any lower.
