I got asked what I wanted to use the account for, why I was thinking of changing banks, how much money I had and why I want to bank with Beyond Bank. I've been through less intimidating job interviews! Clearly the staff at BB are trained to treat customers as though they're doing us a favour by even considering to open a bank account for us. I think the real reason they refused to open a bank account for me is because they couldn't be bothered nor do they have the skill to read the trust document. I'm done with this "bank" and moving everything to Commonwealth. So what I've done is empty my personal bank accounts with them and I will leave them inactive. I refuse to deal with this "bank" any further. BB is about as ethical as the big 4. But at least the big 4 treat customers with some respect. Unfortunately, I have to leave my meal and entertainment salary sacrifice account with BB because I have no choice. But that's ok, because this card enables me to use this bank's facilities free of cost with limitless withdrawals for $110 per fortnight deposits, and I don't have to deal with the rude staff, so I'm not bothered.
You've lost a customer and I won't be coming back. And I'll be telling everyone I come across to avoid you like the plague. Not unless they enjoy having their time wasted, being insulted by supercilious and impertient staff, staff who don't understand banking, refuse to understand their customers needs, being kept waiting and spoken to like an idiot.

I’m giving Beyond Bank 1 star. After careful consideration, I’m giving Beyond Bank 1 star. Their service was deeply disappointing. While they claim “we must take all aspects of a customer’s needs into account,” their rigid customer service approach feels dismissive. There are much better banks to bank with.
Follow-up · For example, i witnessed a bank manager demand that a customer (with what appeared to suffer mental health issues) leave the branch in a demeaning and aggressive tone. No kindness or empathy.. I immediately questioned if this was the bank for me? From a health science and also financial services background myself I would never treat a customer in this way.

During that time, the branch staff told me I would need to drive 25 minutes to another branch for in-person assistance, as they don't offer face-to-face service. Disappointing experience – My recent closing of a Beyond Bank account is cause to reflect on the experience. The account was part of a management plan our parents set up for their estates. With their passing my interactions with the Beyond Bank Estate Department was not easy and reflects a common complaint from other reviews. Our mother spent time in aged care and one… Read more
daughter took it upon herself to remove and cancel her Beyond Bank card. It only had $50 credit we kept topped up for her to buy coffee and treats on bus outings. In firm and clear terms our Mother instructed the daughter to return it. It had been removed and cancelled without her authority. Beyond Bank and all three POA agreed it was to be returned but shortly afterwards the daughter changed her mind. Our 93 yo mother told me she ‘felt diminished’ by the action and that Beyond Bank had changed their mind to support the daughter. At the time our mother had over one million dollars in a low interest account with this bank. Mother had never lost any funds from the card and if there was a loss it would have been limited and insignificant. I attempted to pursue the matter and found the secured Beyond Bank email communications had been deleted. They advised it was standard practise to delete secured email after 2 months. That was not in their PDS and I considered it legal correspondence I could rely on and I required it to be restored from backup. After some months they informed me they were unable to do so. Both our parents had been a long term customer from CPS Credit days over 30 years ago, eventually taken over by Beyond Bank. My experience is Beyond Bank does not act at a minimum standard expected of a bank regardless of their self promotion they upholds community standards. Failing to respect an elderly loyal long term customer by allowing her the small dignity of having her card returned was just ‘Beyond’ them.

were told I am unable to apply for the car loan for not being a permanent resident. It was a shame and wasted time as we were in a rush provided our car is already waiting for us to be picked up! We tried Beyond Bank and they have no issues with me applying provided it is a joint car loan with a citizen, permanent resident!
We applied Sunday night, Tammy took our car application Monday afternoon, got conditional approval Tuesday morning, had a video call with Tammy (who was very professional and friendly!) to verify our identity, and processed our Comprehensive Insurance with them (which was a lot cheaper than IMB's!), and got the loan contract and money released on Wednesday morning! That's just crazy fast! We are now on schedule and picking up our car tomorrow and we can't wait! We will definitely recommend Beyond Bank to everyone!

they could easily have been traced, the staff at Beyond Bank were unhelpful and dragged their feet, advising me their “investigation” (doing what exactly?) would take 30 then 45 days. When I asked what was being done about it the woman in the branch stared at her screen for 5 minutes before walking off to attend other business, then returned to it before giving me a totally unconcerned and non-committal response making it clear they were not exactly blazing a trail to tracking down my missing funds. My pointing out all the signs warning about scams fell on deaf ears. It would’ve saved me time if they’d just been honest about it - "no, we couldn't be less interested. Please just go away". If they were really serious about putting customer needs first they’d reimburse the funds then in their own time pursue matters with the other bank. To reviewers: yes I know it can feel good to leave positive reviews but big corporations do not care about you and honest criticism can at least go a small way to help keep them honest and accountable.
