One bolt as per all other mowers. Unscrew counter clockwise.

Reduce tension on cutting belts via the spring and chain mechanism.

Transmission I had to replace mine twice one on each side a week after purchasing they said it was faulty

It is nearly 3 years since i sold the Dog, so memory dims. Rather than guess I just recommend you have a look underneath at the pulleys, springs and wheels undersneath and it should become fairly obvious.

i just traded in my raptor sd for a big dog 42 inch mp,the front wheels hit the corner where the led lights are and when the blade is on the whole deck shakes,about the belts,they just replaced mine on the raptor and when it was in there getting an oil change i said my deck was vibrating when cutting they said my belt was getting worn,its only been on there for 6 months,im going to change to exmark mowers ,i have had 4 raptors and big dogs nothing but trouble,its either the spindles which are crap or something else

Does anyone know why my Bigdog C146 loses power in the left hand drive after a while of mowing. The left hand drive becomes so weak l have stop and let it cool down before continuing.

Mine did the same, had to replace the transmission.

G"day Larry, mine is a Bigdog Alpha I'm assuming the drive belt set up is the same on the Alpha ,you'll need a 10mm/3/8"socket to remove plastic belt protectors then a 17mm/11/16"spanner to loosen tensioner pulley ( spring loaded pulley ) so as to be able to slip belt between pulley & retainer then fit belt as pre diagram on label/sticker on the deck & retighten tensioner pulley & refit plastic protectors . G'day Lele , I've not had any problems with the level of the deck as yet, the only adjustment I've made is with the anti scalp wheel which has 3 adjustment heights as the wheel wasn't touching the grass hardly from original settings ,from memory the arms that come down on each side of the deck have an adjustment nut on them which I thinks helps with relation to levelling & or height ?? Sorry, but I have since sold my house and The Dog with it, so I can't go and look at the linkages. My guess is that there will be a mechanical adjustment (bolt/screw) to adjust where the arms sit when in "neutral" and another (probably screw) adjustment on the hydraulic motor itself to adjust the amount of fluid passed when the forward/reverse lever is moved.

On mine I found over 3 years one motor began to drive harder than the other for equal "throttle" position, suggesting this is an adjustment that needs to happen from time to time and consequently making it highly likely such a balancing adjustment is provided by the makers.

G'day Lawnmower man I've not encountered such issues as yet with my Bigdog it sounds like the previous reply may have answered your question sorry, but I am unsure of the location of the adjusting bolts & screws but will be keeping an eye out for future reference, sorry not much help today , cheers

G'day Huffman if you check some of the previous Q&A's I'm sure I've answered a similar question but in short there should be a diagram for your belt placement around the pulleys on the deck , remove pulley covers x 2 , loosen tensioner pulley which will allow belt to go in between the retainer & pulley check belt placement tighten tensioner & refit covers I hope this helps, cheers Batman
