My steam mop is not steaming, it is more like a mop, saturating the porcelain tiles, regardless of what setting I have. I have tried removing the water container and reconnecting it but it is correctly fitted. Can someone help before it goes back to the store. thanks.

Purchased FSM1610-XE ON 1.10.14 in Morayfield whilst on holidays, however it doesn't appear to steam, red light comes on turns blue then attempt to clean floor but nothing is cleaned. I live in Moranbah closest Godfreys is Mackay. Any suggestions why it isn't steaming/cleaning/working?
I think maybe your water container is not in properly. Remove it & then put it back till it gives a clicking noise. This happened to me, unit was working but no steam & I found that was the problem, the water container must be attached properly. Hope this helps.
Hi I want to buy FSM 1610 XE which oi on sale for 79$.Just worried about warranty, if for some reason there is a problem with the machine how do I get it replaced?since I had been told in godfreys than I can't return them for any warranty issues.
Secondly does it have a attachment for carpet cleaning(sanitising).
Hi, I'm sure that if Godfreys sell you the item you should be able to return it there if you have any warranty claims. You can always ring the Black & Decker info line for more information. Yes the item comes with a carpet glider for steaming carpets. It's a great steam mop, I paid $199 and they are on sale for $79 now.
Cheers
Hi, this steam mop is covered by a 2 year warranty. In the unlikely event that there is an issue with the steam mop, please take it back to the place of purchase with your receipt and the retailer will be able to help you.
Thank you for your kind comments Mary, we agree that its a great steam mop :)
I bought a Black & decker a couple pf years ago. It worked well. However the top handl broke off. How do I get a replement? Is it cheaper just to get a new one?
Lily I spoke to a young man @ Stanley Black & Decker about three weeks ago his name was [name removed]. I told him about my problem and he is sending out a new head for my machine. But he also told me that Stanley Black & Decker are aware of the problem with the handle. give them a call. I reckon they will do the right thing by you
Kindest Regards
Boxhead
Lily the advise I gave you I believe is good. I have a major battle going with the retailer I bought the steam mop from. He is only interested in the money he banked $269.00. Black & Decker is interested in the reputation. That's why they are sending a new mop head at no expense to me. as well as if it does the same as what I claimed they will refund me.
I didn't think Big Companies like that existed anymore
