On a Bosch Compress 3000 the e09 is a mechanical failure or just a matter of resetting

1 answer
Bosch Hot Water & Heating
Robert B.Bosch Hot Water & Heating

Hi Arpad, the heat pump has a troubleshooting function. In most cases, the unit will return to normal functioning following elimination of the cause of the malfunction and resetting the device. The E09 fault refers to either an incorrect purging, water not circulating (water pump or hydraulic circuit may be blocked), or the system being unpurged due to water shortage. We recommend that you contact your installer regarding this issue.

I've just recently had a valve on the side of my Bosch water pump system which was leaking quit fast.
It's just possibly over 1 year old. Replaced a couple of weeks ago & I noticed yesterday it's dripping again slower from the drain pipe again.
I rang the Plumber & he said 'M' but they should loose at least 1 Litre of water a day ? I replied that doesn't seem right & he said he'd look at it again. I'm sure that's not right ' any answers please.
I gave him the address again & he was going to have another look at it. John D

Hi John, when water is heated, expansion occurs. This will cause a small amount of water to drip from the relief drain, otherwise known as condensate. Hot water usage will determine the amount of "water leakage", but it is not uncommon for the unit to release around 2L of water per day depending on the air temperature. For more information, please don't hesitate to get in touch with us at 1300 30 70 37 during the weekday from 7:30am to 6:00pm (AEST).

We have just had a Bosch Compress 3000 installed. We understand how it works (sort of). The people at Bosch advised that the unit is designed to run on manual 24/7. How would this compare to running our old water storage heater on off peak through the night? When we hear the Bosch Heat Pump running for hours we keep thinking will we need to re-mortgage our house to pay the electricity bill! We are a 2-person household and at the moment have the Bosch heat pump on P1 due to being uncertain of the cost of running the unit 24/7. The heat pump is not connected to a PV panel. Thank you.

You need to program the unit or get help to so it only runs heats between certain hours. We are very happy with ours and because of solar on the roof we were shutting down the system from 7 at night to 7 in the morning.

Bosch Hot Water & Heating
Robert B.Bosch Hot Water & Heating

Hi there, when the heat pump is in manual mode, the unit heats the water as required to ensure that the water temperature is kept at the set value. As Smithy mentioned, some users may choose to program the unit to run between certain hours. This is done under the P2 and P3 mode which allows you to customise your operating times for the weekdays and weekend. If your home is unoccupied during the middle of the day, this program would be really useful as it won’t waste energy and money heating up water that isn’t going to be used. The P2 and P3 programs also gives you the option to have two different operation times for summer and winter (e.g. P2 times are set for summer, P3 times are set for winter). Please be advised that you will have to allocate increased recovery times for your unit now that we are moving into winter - as the ambient temperature and incoming water temperatures decrease, your unit will be working harder to heat up your water and will need more time to do so. Robert B.Bosch Hot Water & Heating

Hi Arpad, if your unit is displaying an "e04" code, you will need a service technician to come out. When the temperature is above 80°C, it can increase the risk of scalding as well as increase your energy usage costs. There is most likely an issue with the system that will require servicing. If you require any assistance with finding a Bosch approved service technician in your area, please don't hesitate to contact our helpful team at 1300 30 70 37 any time from 7:30am to 6:00pm (AEST).

Hi Arpad, it sounds like your unit’s heating element requires inspection and servicing as it may be damaged. We would recommend that you get a Bosch approved service technician out to assist you with this issue. Please get in touch with us at the contact details previously posted and we'll be able to assist you.

Just installed the Bosch 3000 hot water heap pump. The plumber set it to the manual setting. The heat pump heats at anytime of day when it needs to. However, we want the heat pump to work during off peak period only (between 11pm and 6am). We followed the instructions in the manual, we set the heat pump to rum from 11pm to 6 am. However, the following morning at about 10 am I went and checked and the water temperature was just 23 C indicating that the heat pump had not heated overnight. There had been little hot water use, just a sink full of dishes nothing else. I then went to check the program it seemed to have the right times in it but I couldn't change them or set up a program in P3. So I put the heater back onto man mode and we have hot water now. How do I get to run a program? how can I check that a set program is actually running?

Hi Penny, I hope you have luck. We tried the same thing but it comes on at all hours through the day, the night time is the worse especially at 2am in the morning as it's so noisy, we rang for help and now it's back on Manual too but it's crazy it's still coming on at all hours. The noise factor of ours is unbearable so we have been trying to get it only to come on through the day as it wakes us up at night, the neighbour has complained too. I had a guy around to help but as it wasn't running he couldn't do a thing he said to record the noise, so I did after it woke us up again in the early hours of the morning, but it will be a waste of time as the recording does not give the true noise level We will just have to wear ear plugs, but we feel very sorry for our neighbour. If we had know how noisy the system is we wouldn't have touched it. How is your system regarding noise factor, we may have bought a dud at a huge expense. I have wasted so many phone calls to the help centre I give up. As I have been writing this it has come on ...again...I can hear it clear as a bell inside with the TV going, it's like living near wind turbines the drone is unbearable. Good luck with yours.

Hi how do I check the power consumption of the unit?

1 answer
Bosch Hot Water & Heating
Robert B.Bosch Hot Water & Heating

Hi Harry,

Thanks for your question. To find the cumulative consumption of your heat pump, you will need to access the “Info” function on your heat pump’s display screen. Press “Menu” on the heat pump display. “PROG” will then be displayed. Use the ‘+’ and ‘-‘ to find “Info”. Press “ok”. The cumulative consumption in kWh will then be displayed. Please be aware that the counter automatically resets to “000” once the value reaches 1193 kWh.

We hope this helps but if you have any further queries, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our helpful customer service team at our toll-free number 1300 30 70 37. They’re available any time between 8am to 6pm (AEST) during the week.

Hello, I have just had a Bosch Compress 3000 (double fan) installed. I find it very noisy (70dba). Do you know if there is a noise reduction kit available on the market?

1 answer
Dave
Dave

Good to hear someone else is having trouble with the noise, we rang Bosch and they told us it should run at 45dba they certainly have that wrong because ours is so noisy it is unbearable, they then suggested we move it, I don't think so...we would have to move it up the street so we couldn't hear it, great customer service advice absolutely hopeless, then they said we had to ring the plumber who installed it to sort it out, as you have noticed in my comments all of these solutions would be at our cost, oh and we were told that when the plumber arrives he should ring them and they maybe able to sort out the problem.....don't Bosch have people in their business that can come and sort things out, they are happy for people to pay a fortune for this product but heaven help us when something goes wrong....we wish we never bought it

HI there have just had this unit installed, also with solar roof panels. the unit keeps trying going into LEG mode every two hours any suggestions how to stop this as its costing alot in electricity.

I am not sure why it is doing that. I selected the day of the week for the LEG run during the set up. If you have not done so have a look at the manual it can be found here https://www.bosch-climate.com.au/trade/installation-manuals.html You can also find instructions there to specify the hours you want the unit to run. I have mine set for daily from 10 am until 3 pm to maximise use of solar power.

I agree with savydog, it sounds like you need to re program & use specific hours for operation. if still playing up, and to save time & money get in contact with Bosh & find
out who their authorized plumber is, as it sounds brand new & under warranty for 2 years.

Kimf
Kimf

I've noticed mine is going into LEG mode a lot also,
I'm hoping it's only a winter thing & doesn't matter so much as its giving us the extra hot water we need....
I don't know what that will do to our bill though...

Hi I am thinking of having the Bosch 3000 installed but I need information.
How much extra to have it fitted?
have seen prices ranging from $4,990 fitted and $1870 for supply only how can there be such a price difference.
I also have solar panels does this unit have to go through my electric h/w meter or can it be connected in such a way that i can draw off my solar power during the day to heat the water ?

Hi, I'm not a Bosch representative so unsure about the solar question.
My plumber installed the HWC, very easy and straight forward, took him 4 hours at his rate of $70 per hour for all of the pipework.
Once installed our electrical contractor connected to our switch board. Another two hours at $90 per hour.
We have continuous hot water and power bills are low. Very happy with our purchase!

so what did you pay for the bosch 3000 plus freight or did you get it as a package with fitting ?

Hello Bosch,
I have our unit set to program 1 (factory setting). When the unit runs on the night time program we have plenty of hot water in the morning.
When we come back from work around 5pm the unit temp is sitting around 35 degrees and hit water will not be ready until the evening setting kicks in.
What do I need to set the unit too to ensure that we have hit water in the evening?

I am looking at switching to a heat pump system. Currently have a worn out solar, but issues with high set house etc. Would prefer to get everything off the roof. One concern I have is the complexity of these systems.... therefore reliabilty and cost of spares is a major concern. What is the life expectancy of these units and how much warranty is offered? I'd be pretty concerned if only one or two years was offered. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

HI,

RE: installation of Bosch 270L Heat Pump Hot Water System Compress 3000;

I am trying to find a place to put the above system. I have an outside space but the walls either side of the space only allow 250mm clearance on either side of the unit, instead of the 400mm specified in the manual. Could you please tell me what the 400mm clearance on either side of the unit is for?

Hello Let me first say I am only a customer of Bosch and do not work for them. I would think the space is for the air flow required for the unit to work properly, But I would suggest the best think is to phone Bosch in Melbourne. 0395415135.
Hope this helps

Hello bosch,

I have the compress 3000, its about 10 months old, last week I checked the consumption usage and it was 1188kwh. Today I noticed that this seemed to have reset itself and is now down to 2kwh. Can you tell me is there a display limit of the consumption to possibly 1200kwh? Or could I possibly have a faulty board?
I also didn't reset the consumption either, and I've noticed even when you have a power outage it retains the usage.
