I have a 3 year old Rotak 32 LI-ION cordless lawnmower bought by my late husband, I've used it but dontv know a lot about its workings but Ivm certainly learning about its battery! I'm assuming its the battery which is stopping it from working. I bought a new replacement battery but it wouldn't fit into the connector, my model only seems to take a slide in battery and they seem to be rare! Is that the case and if so is there no hope?

Just purchased this - why oh why do the back wheels continually keep falling off?? Very frustrating! Keep putting them back on - hear the click but within minutes they fall off again! Any help please!

I was mowing my lawn as normal, then near the end the mower just stopped. This has happened before, during a difficult cut due to the battery running out. So as usual, I put battery on charge. When the indicator said it was fully charged, I replaced the battery and thought I’d be on my way.

However, the mower remained completely dead. I know it’s either the battery or the mower itself and cannot see anything wrong with the battery. But neither can I understand why the mower would suddenly stop mid-mow.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, how do you remove the motor from an old Rotak 37LI battery mower please? Dave

Graham

remove all the screws and use common sense.

Thanks, last screw found (in plain sight) underneath, I found my common sense, motor out and ready for my next task. Thanks again

We have a Bosch Rotak in our summerhouse. The batteries and the mower might have been exposed to water. It starts okay, but stops after 1-2 sec’s. With both batteries. I’m in doubt if it’s the mower or the batteries causing the problem.

Mower starts to rotate slowly then up to speed but when stressed cutting grass slows down and often stops. why? The blade is OK and rotates freely (battery not connected!)

I have a Rotak 36li battery mower. Does a good job but having a problem with the grass box dropping in operation. When this happens the grass blows everywhere. Have to stop remove the grass box clean all grass away and refit. It happens then again , so have to keep stopping etc. Anyone else had this problem and how to resolve things on otherwise a good machine

I have got the same problem did you come up with any solution?

Rotak man
Rotak man

I thought I had found the solution. Lubricated the spring and hinges of the guard flap that holds the grass box, helps a little but not the solution. I contacted Bosch about the problem and they suggested to buy a new grass box !!! Don't think that would do anything to solve the problem Will keep working on it, I have ended up putting a bungie round the grass box and over the guard lid to hold all in place, see how it goes ? Not what you would expect of a Bosch product

Rotak man
Rotak man

Think I have found the problem with the grass box, the top has come away ( not obvious) from the bottom, I managed to push the top firmly back onto the bottom clips with a click, so that may fix things. How Bosch could not have suggested that as opposed to suggesting buying a new grass box !

We have a 36li battery mower but not cutting grass, blades sharpened & got new blade but still not cutting

Graham

do you mean the motor is not turning the cutting blade?? You will have to fault find. Could be the switch; dry joints; dirt etc in motor contacts - best of luck.

Hello my rotak 37 LI lever to change the height of the cutting blade has snapped. Any ideas on what I should do? Thanks

Same thing happened to me about 6 weeks ago.... I ended up plastic welding it back together in situ using a soldering iron and some ABS 3d printer filament to "beef it up". It's holding up so far.

Thanks for the response. That sounds like a good fix. I don't have access to soldering equipment so I'll have a chat with a place that fixes stuff.

I have repaired the leaver by drilling new hole and used a bolt. I have tried various methods but found none very successful. The price for the replacement parts is outrageous. In the end I drilled, bolted and plated the broken bits with aluminum so the mower is now a fixed height. Bosch should pay their long suffering customers to take their crap off their hands.

That also sounds an interesting fix. I'm hoping to take another look to see what I can do. Thank you

Graham

You could try to drill a bigger hole

The same thing happened to me. The blade was for the electric mower and not the Li battery mower. I drilled the hole out and it worked fine

ended up taking them apart ourselves . Disconnecting and reconnecting all the push fitting electrical connectors, cleaning out, spraying with contact spray and bobs your uncle, they are both flying. Am thinking of posting a video to help others.

Was it easy to take apart, Janey? I'm having the same issue myself but presumed I'd need an electrician or something to look at it.

I have a Bosch rotak lithium battery lawnmower about 10 years old. It was working fine last summer but now it wont start. Both batteries seem to be fully charged. I'm thinking it is something to do with the connection or the red safety lever. Any ideas as to what I can do?

I have a Bosch Rotak 43 battery mower. Last year the battery kept slipping out meaning I had to keep pushing it back in many times each time I cut the grass. Any ideas how to resolve this? It is really annoying.

Graham

not rocket science - check locking clip on battery or the locking mech in the mower

I have had my Rotak 34 Li Ergo Flex since 2011 and its still going. I just made the first cut of 2023 and a problem which started last year is getting worse. The clear plastic shroud which covers the battery pops up and the motor shuts off. Pushing it back down it works for a very short time then shuts down again. Any idea what the fix is?

Graham

work out a means for securing it - you my have to pull the top off the machine to see exactly whats happening

I have stripped down and refurbished my Bosch rotak 37li battery mower. I am having a problem re assembling the roller and rear wheel assembly. Any ideas? Where might I get a diagram of this? I am obviously missing something simple as it is not really complicated!

go to a parts on line exploded view. I generally use these diagrams if in doubt. Best of luck!

Thanks Graham, I will try using the exploded view to re assemble the machine. Right now the machine looks very much like an exploded view itself! All the best.
