I am happy with this product – This dryer is perfect for my family. It is so gentle with our outfits. Show details · 1
Can See Why Its Discontinued Bosch Series 8 WTW87566AU/09 – Bought this dryer just over three years ago now and today went to use it and heard scrapping grinding sounds coming from the dyer. Immediately turned it off and unload clothes from the dryer for a closer inspection to see what the issue was. Noticed the plastic drum cone detached from the drum and the drum looks to have dropped at the rear as i… Read more
can only assume the cone has something to do with holding the drum in position. Even closer inspection revealing the holes in the drum that the plastic lugs on the cone go through are elongated and have metal burrs on them which shows sign of a major failure in the machine. The machine was setup on a concrete flab sub floor and levelled out perfectly when initially setup as per the installation instructions so can dismiss vibration regarding incorrect installation.
Very disappointing as we spent hours and hours researching which dryer would be the best to buy and narrowed it down between Bosch & Miele and as there was no stock of the Miele dyer we chose WTW87566AU/09 and and really regret choosing Bosch as i believe that the whole rear assembly is poorly designed and should not have failed like this just after 3 years. I always purchase quality products and at the time considered Bosch as one of those trusted brands as i didn't want to go cheap only to replace in a short period of time but it seems Bosch is just like all those other mediocre brands that are not worth the big price tag they come with. Really disappointing that the machine has already failed after a short period of time.
I am in the building industry and call in on a lot of builders and cabinets makers and certainly wont be giving Bosch any glowing reviews any time soon after the disappointment of this dryer.
Thanks Bosch!
Slow to dry – This Bosch heat pump dryer was a replacement and has very average and erratic performance. It can be slow and temperamental and often thinks the washing is dry when it is actually still damp, so need to re-start cycle but again it ends before washing is dry. I have 2 washers and 2 dryers and recently replaced a Miele heat pump dryer with a… Read more
Hisense 8kg dryer and the difference is staggering! The Miele dryer was a disaster from start to finish; it had major issues and Miele never acknowledged liability so I ended up throwing it out after it was only 2 years old. I will never again buy another Miele product. The Hisense heat pump dryer is incredible and dries in less than half the time of both the Miele and Bosch. Don't waste your money on Miele or Bosch - just go Hisense.
Terrible! – This just does not dry. Bedding (read all other reviews) just gets knotted ... so tightly on occasion it has taken me half an hour just to unknot. Show details
waste of money – Never completely dry clothes and knots bedding so there are constantly wet patches.
Unfortunately it just doesn’t perform – Bought our Serie 8 heat pump dryer about 6 months ago and just have never been happy with it. We’ve had Bosch washers and dish washers that we’ve absolutely been happy with but this dryer just is a bit of a dud and we’re very much regret the purchase. We bought it after some study and a good talk with the Good Guys specialist. It did take a bit… Read more
of time to get used to the extended period of time it takes to dry, understating how it works. If you want a dryer that you can dry clothes quickly, these are not for you. It’s okay though if you understand it and the cost savings.
However, our two gripes are:
(1) Design feature without a reversing system. Honestly it was not something we ever considered with our old F&P. With Bosch’s lack of reversing, as a lot of people have reported, you will have a difficult time with sheets as they will ball up and not dry unless you buy dryer balls or throw some dry towels in. It’s doable but when you spend this much on a machine, you just expect it to do its job. I wish we thought about this in advance.
(2) smaller, lighter items (for us) are extremely difficult to dry. Doing a load of workout clothes and socks, it seems we can never get the socks to actually dry despite what setting you have it on. Similarly, things like PJs, they dry but the waistbands never dry and no matter what setting you try it never dries.
I updated the noise level to "Loud" - its not abnormally loud but when you hear your dryer running for 3.5 hours to dry some sheets or towels, the moderate noise becomes annoying.
As my wife says “I just want a dryer that actually dries.” Its actually hard to do more than 2 loads in a day as this would take 6-7 hours for two loads.
We really regret this purchase and are so disappointed that we were talked into the purchase by the store staff. We’ve given it 6+ months but, from our opinon, the performance falls way short of the inflated cost. 100% we would purchase a conventional dryer in the future, and, sadly, not a Bosch.
We were contacted by Bosch after this review, and I responded but never received any communications after that.
Works great – I was hesitant on heat pumps as many complain about it not drying properly, but my first use and its great! So first load was light load (weeks worth of work shirts, shirts shorts etc (no towels or large items), set it on cotton, cupboard dry & added 1 sun to drying level. The screen said 3hrs so I let it go. 50mins later its finished and… Read more · 1
everythings dry and WARM!
I read the manual and i can see that you need to keep on top of general maintenace, like clean the lint filters (even under water occasionally), the water condensor tray filter and wipe down the drying sensor. Without doing this will obviously hurt its performance hence the many negative reviews & keyboard warriors?
Obviously if you overload the dryer with heaps of towels & dont increase the drying level then this could cause dampness but it would be the same with any brand.
Good for Clothing. Bad for Everything else – Have had the dryer for a year now, very effective at drying clothes of all shapes and sizes. All clothes that have gone through it have been great, no lost buttons, no increase in piling or heat damage etc. However the real problem is when you try to dry sheets, quilts, towels or anything that needs a bit of heavy duty work, this machine is… Read more
hopeless at it. The drum only turns one way and just compounds the problems of everything getting tangled and bunched up. Sheets/Quilts/Towels never end up dry and need micromanagement from start to finish.
Real shame as most people buy a dryer to save them the hassle of some of the tougher items to wash/dry, especially in winter. This machine only works well if you use 1/3 of its features.
As a side note, after nearly a year of irregular use, the lint filter cage is already showing signs of cracks and heat damage. Costs $45 to replace it, so think carefully if you're buying this for the long-term.
Total rubbish buyer beware of bosch dryers – Brought a bosch clothes dryer in 7month of 2019. Didn't make its first birthday before the drum completely destroyed itself. Over 5 weeks to repair it and costing me more money going to laundry mats to dry clothes and never been any good since and still wont dry clothes. Had multiple technicians out to look at it each time they run a system test… Read more
and say all good and Its my filters have calcium build up on them so i purchased new filters same problem not drying clothes at all tried every program and recommendations from the technicians and from emails sent from bsh and cleaning sensor etc. Bsh won't give you a report what wrong with your appliance so you can follow it up. If you ask me hiding something. Technicians never ever pull your machine apart and looking inside just talk lies to you and still going through it right now trying to get it sort. Bosch won't replace the appliance but patch it together each time until the warranty runs out. Bsh don't send emails to you when you request them i even get them to read the email addy back to me so miscommunication. Bsh offered to send me a email two days ago saying the will credit me $75 to go and dry my clothes as i have special needs children and im out of pocket again more lies. I have a bosch washing machine and dishwasher and love them but im going to be passing on bosch products if not sorted to my liking. So buyer beware

Terrible - nothing gets dry and takes hours – I had a condenser dryer that died so spent the extra $$$ on a heat pump thinking that the energy efficiency would be higher and the dryer expectations the same. I want to know how do I get this dryer to dry sheets and towels or clothes in one go. Absolutely awful and a waste of dryer time. 4 hrs to dry one load of normal clothing! Have to go mix… Read more
then to warm times to get clothes dried. Absolute rubbish and I trust Bosch as I have a dishwasher that was good. I can’t get sheets dry at all and don’t talk about towels. What happened to nice warm towels out of the dryer. What can I do?

Absolute garbage!! Bought both dryer and washing machine and both are terrible – Purchased both the series 8 washer and dryer, washing machine has been problematic from the start but now dryer has stopped spinning.Help from bosch was pointless regarding the washing machine. Was told unfortunately we have no service personal for your area. Complete waste of money. Doubt the response will be any better for the dryer. Show details

Glad I bought it – I don't post many reviews here but I decided to do this one because I feel many of the other reviews of this dryer on this site are misleading. I almost decided against buying this dryer because of all the negative reviews on this site. But all my other Bosch appliances have been great, so I decided to give it a go. I'm very happy I did. dries just fine. I've owned old-school dryers in the past and I know how the clothes come out of them feeling hot and super dry. The clothes come out of the bosch feeling cool but they are dry. And the best part - it's super energy efficient. I got a meter and checked how much power it was using. Drying a load of wet towels cost 17 cents (0.7 kWH)! They're not joking when they say it is a 9 star dryer. (I also found that my matching Bosch washer could do a cold-water wash of a full load for just 2 cents - yes 2 cents!) So - if you don't need your clothes to feel like they've been in a blast furnace and you don't want to waste energy or have huge power bills then don't be put off by all the negative reviews. This is a good dryer.
Does not work – Our dryer is faulty, it does not dry clothes. No water is being removed in the cycles. I would presume the machine has a hidden fault, as dryers should dry clothes and remove water. We are in a very slow assessment process with a third party for repair. Really frustrating. We have already wasted a lot of money on electricity that has not dried… Read more
clothes, so I would not recommend others buy it and go through this, having a high chance of faulty product. Taking months to resolve.

Waste of money - doesn't dry anything – Broken hearted. We renovated our laundry and bought the matching washer (Good Guys). Looks amazing side by side, can't fault the washer. From first use of the drier I can't get it to dry anything!! My old model in the garage was due to be sold. I'm thinking of using that one instead. It dries clothes and cost me a quarter of this one! different loads and settings and it hasn't successfully dried a load yet. Everything is quite damp. I re-set it, it runs for only a few minutes and stops. The excitement over a new laundry lost shine. Maybe its broken? Urgh.....so disappointed.

Definitely not worth the money! – This dryer does not dry clothes. We recently had it serviced to find that the sensor was faulty. Bosch kindly replaced it, but unfortunately it’s no better. Don’t even attempt to try sheets or towels - it takes hours and they come out damp. For $1500 one would certainly expect a product that actually works. Show details

Trying to dry sheets for over 8 hours – Picked up this dryer from Bing Lee only a week ago and used for the first time today. Washed a set of sheets in the matching Bosch washing machine spinning at 1400rpm so sheets were damp that they should have been dry in max 2 hours. Put sheets into the dryer and they've been in there for almost 12 hours and they're still damp. I've tried 4… Read more
different settings and pressing different buttons to no avail. Considering calling Bing Lee to get a refund and choosing a different brand! Absolutely appalling they're charging $1700 for a dryer that needs the better part of the day to dry a set of sheets

A perfect replacement for old vented dryer – Generally have a 6kg load on the cotton plus setting. For thicker items sometimes have to adjust with fine adjust however power consumption is 1/3 of vented dryer. Big savings Show details · 1
What a waste of money – Got the dryer in March and have hated it from the first time I tried to dry bedding. The drum only turns one way, resulting in a big WET ball of sheets or quilt covers. The dryer thinks it's dry and turns off. If you restart it, it only last for 4-5min and thinks it's dry again. The only way to dry sheets or quilt cover is to untangle the ball… Read more

BOSH heat pump dryer – I bought the machine via harvey norman on 15/7 . A try to dry my clothes in several cycles and doesn't dry completely. I would like to return because is not efficient for me . Is a waist or time and money . I need something efficient that dry my clothes in a short of period of time . Very disapointed with product. Show details

Isn't modern technology great – Was looking for a cheaper replacement for the old Fisher& Paykel that had seen better days. because we needed one and found that it's so easy to use. A huge range of cycles rather than hot and hotter so I reckon it's got to be better for your clothes. Love the condensation tank (also has a hose I can run into a sink) because it doesn't fog the room up and you don't have to open a window and loose all your heat in that part of the house. It matches the washing machine so I can purchase an adaptor and stack one on top of the other which is a great idea. Being slightly larger too is an advantage so you can comfortably fit larger sheets and towel in there without them all knotting together or having to do multiple loads.
Can't imagine winters without it – We purchased our dryer from Harvey Norman last year and must say it was a worthwhile purchase. We love the multiple functions, easy to follow manual and above all its efficient drying. It's 9 kilos capacity is perfect for our household of 5. It's silent and efficient. We never owned a dryer prior to this. Happy that we have it now. Show details · 1
Well worth the extra money – After much research I decided to buy a heat pump dryer to stop all the condensation and mess caused by a regular vented dryer. Although very pricey which was my only reservation, I am so happy with this dryer! It is clean and tidy and can be run with all the doors closed and does not pump dirty, moist air onto the wall. The water collects in a… Read more · 1
cartridge which I pull the out each load and empty onto my potted plants. You can also easily plumb this in so it drains away immediately and it comes with all the required attachments, however I wanted to collect the water manually. It's very quiet and the average cycle is 1 hour so very efficient for our family of 4. I would struggle to go back to a vented dryer after using the heat pump dryer.
Not much to say, it dries clothes! – This is a great drier! Best I've ever owned, it has many modes and my shirts never lose any features such as size after going in. I cannot recommend this enough, a must have machine! Show details · 1
Just doesnt dry clothes – Purchased due to condenser properties and Bosch being a good brand. Rarely will the pre options controls actually dry clothes and even when using the timed option still wont dry. Not sure what to do as it is an expensive unit - seems to be multiple reviews like this one - wish i read them prior to purchase Show details
