I bought the mixer 10 months ago. It is excellent for making a bread, using a dough hook. However I am not impressed with the result using a whisk attachment (beater). It NEVER reaches the very bottom of the bowl, especially when making a meringue. To make a meringue (even using 4-5 egg whites) it whisks only on top so I end up using a hand mixer or holding the bowl higher by hands so that it can reach the bottom. I am quite disappointed as it is very different from the claim on the video. Is this normal with this model or happens with only my machine? I am wondering why I bought this mixer in the first place if I have to use a hand mixer to get the result I want.

I have not experienced the same problem with my mixer, sorry I am unable to offer you a solution.

Having made several pavlova without a hitch I am still very happy with my purchase.

I have just started using my new BM1200HX BOSCO Multifunction Stand Mixer and wonder if it has been assembled properly. I have tried with softened butter and suger to beat it to a cream with both the ordinary beater and the scraper beater without success. My cakes have been a real flop as the sugar has not been blended properly. The mixture seems to lie at the bottom of the large bowl and the beater does not pick it up-. Hoping to have a quick reply.

Hi Tinkabell34, we use the silicone beater to cream sugar and butter. It does not quite reach the very bottom of the bowl but it certainly scrapes the side of the bowl quite well. If you are trying to cream a very small amount of mixture, it may not work so well. Are you using the silicone beater?

Also make sure when you lower the mixer you push it down until it clicks, for a while I wasn't doing so. I can only offer so much advice as I have only creamed butter for biscuits, I don't really make cakes.

According to my experiences, if you are creaming very small amounts of butter, the mixer is not the best option, a handheld mixer does a better job. Stand mixers work best if you have medium to large amounts of ingredients to work with, although the silicone beater does a good job with creaming as it scrapes the sides.

Hi, I am considering buying the top model mixer, should I wait to buy the mixer together with the attachments? If I buy the attachments after I get the mixer, how much would the shipping charge be?

I can't answer your question, I am not in any way related to Bosco. However, I did dwell over the same question myself and can tell you what Bosco told me, and what I decided.... Bosco said that more attachments would be available mid to late September. I toyed between their two models because the HD comes with all attachments and decided that I probably wouldn't use the missing attachments from the HX, and if I need them Bosco said they would be available to existing customers at a special price.... but the HX already has all of the mixing attachments, mincer and food processor... if the sausage nozzle, cookie and pasta extruders become available I may buy them, but I'm not concerned for a grinder, so for now I'm happy.

I would also like to know if the sausage attachment is suitable for the new model BM1200HX .. Thank you, Cheryl H
