My Braemar system is nearly 6 years old. It doesn’t turn on unless I turn the power off to reset it. How can I fix this ?
Hi Sandra, sorry to hear you're having some issues with your gas heater. I recommend you get in touch with your nearest Braemar service agent which you can find here external link or you can call our service line on 1300 650 644 If your gas heater has been serviced and 2 and 4 years (4 years by Seeley International or Braemar approved service agent), your system will still be under warranty. There may be no charge for any repairs if it's an issue covered by warranty. Kind Regards, Rebecca
Can I reduce fan speed on a TQ320N myself with a manual thermostat, heats well but fan noise is annoying
I’m not sure if it can be lowered with that thermostat
Hi does this heater have a pilot light
Hi Alan & Others The heater must have an automatic ignition system. I replaced an old heater. This heater heats well except that it is noisy and cycles on and off until it reaches the required temperature. It should be operating continuously at a slower speed and lower noise until it reaches temperature. I thought this is a bad design fault. There are two problems that I have since learned about. 1. The FocusPro thermostat that i had installed with it ($434) comes with "Adaptive Intelligent Recovery" and if it is operating in that mode shows "In Recovery" above the time. This feature learns how long it normally takes to reach a set temperature at a set time. e.g. 18deg at 7am, so it may start at 5:30am to reach 18deg by 7am. To turn this feature ON/OFF do this: Hold ^ and Fan buttons until display changes. Hit NEXT till display shows 13 1. Hit ^ to change to 13 0. Done. 2. I had the installer back to look at the system. They deduced that there are not enough ducts for this unit and thus the thermostat overheats after about 3 minutes and switches off. After about 1 minute, it cools and it switches on again trying to reach the desired temp. The new type of heaters have more sensors that are triggered off whereas the old heater didn't have the sensor and kept operating. He was able to turn the unit to a slower speed that has helped a lot. They also discovered that some of the ducting had collapsed and have quoted $2100 to replace the ducting.
Hope this helps. Cheers.
our Braemar ducted gas heater model number TQ320NG was purchased new on 25/05/17 will not turn on. we have tried resetting it to no avail. It had been operating until power was turned off a week ago and now will not re start.
Hi Dominic, my heater has done exactly the same thing. How did you fix it ?
We have this unit and it is heat only, can it be changed to cooling also? And what is the cost?.
Unfortunately not, only models ending with "XA" can have add on cooling
How efficient is the TQ330? What cost to have on fitted?
Hi Dennis, TQ430 is much more efficient it’s almost 5 star rated. I think the cost will depend on lots of factors , ie we had a new return air grille, some ducts replaced etc. good luck.
Thanks for the reply. How much did that cost. Cheers
can the user alter the fan speed in a TQ320N model
How do I turn the fan speed down on my TQ320? There appears to be no option to do this on the touchpad under the heating tab. It is so noisy! Also there appears to be no manual available online for this model. The settings on my touchpad look nothing like some of those I’ve found online.
Hi Mary, I searched the Seeley International Australian site for TQ320 but nothing comes up and looking at the reviews on this site show 2017 so maybe the model has been upgraded and a new model number. If you search Google for your Braemar Ecostar TQ320 owners manual you can download from various non Braemar sites and from what I can see, adjustable fan speed depends on your heater unit and wall controller model number / type. My review is for the Braemar Ecostar TQM530 Non Condensing 5.2star fitted with a MagIQtouch® controller. As you don't mention your controller type I can't be sure if you have the MagiQtouch but in my Seeley International Owners Manual on page 25 headed "Settings Menu" it shows where an authorised trained service person can enter a 4 digit code and adjust certain parameters such as fan speed, This is done at installation or a service call out. You didn't mention if you have multiple "zones" or if your unit heats all at once, not that it matters as the fan speed for only one zone, or multiple zones can be adjusted to reduce the noise and force of the air coming out of the registers. In my case we set zone 1 to fan speed 6 and when we activate the other zones 2 & 3 tell the fan speed to increase to 8 and 9 (maximum fan speed is 10) so as more registers are opened the unit pushes more hot air through the ducts and out the registers into the room. So check what controller you have, if you can't be certain do the old Google search for Breamar Central Heating controllers, and find the image like yours which hopefully will give you the model number / type and either call Braemar to ask if it can adjust fan speed, or if your heater controller can be changed to the MagiQtouch. Sorry I can't be more helpful but too many unkowns for me to be certain.
There’s a potentiometer on the PCB inside the unit. Have a licensed gas fitter adjust it for you.
Our unit is so loud in our family room, it gives me a headache. Sounds like freeway noise !!
The fan speed on this model can only be adjusted by a technician. I had mine turned down to 7 (from where it was set at 10) and it’s much better. I still wouldn’t recommend this model at all - it’s very much a base product and I would have invested a bit more for the next version up if I was installing one myself.
Where can I find a manual for this sucker?
Braemar website
Our Plumber install this unit at my mum's place last week, I believe there is something wrong with the unit. our installation guys said there's nothing wrong with it not sure I believe him who can I get to inspect the install? Thanks Pat
Perhaps describe the issue...
It take the unit 2 hrs to raise the temp by 2 degrees, the flu gets extremely hot and it seems like there more hot air coming out of the flu than there is going inside?
so have you got any idea?
If the fan is running the unit will be heating. Sounds more like a ducting issue. Is your return air filter clean? Could also have a collapsed return air duct
Can you please email me a instruction manual? info@bcs3931.com.au
email a user mannual
