My Braemer TH415NG starts sometimes and runs for either long or short periods and then shuts down and shows RESET flashing on the controller. It is hot and miss as the if pressing the RESET button will get it to restart. Mostly it just tries to start and doesn't actually run and again RESET flashes on the controller...... Thoughts ?? I'm leaning towards dirty flame sensor.

Tomek
Tomek

cleaning the flame sensor and spark igniter should be your first port of call :) few years back same thing with Reset happened to me and after few hours of research found a post on Whirlpool forum to annually clean off any carbon buildup on the igniter and sensor using fine sandpaper or steel wool. if you have easy access take a pic of their exact positions .. from memory spark 3-4mm from burner + flame sensor 4-5mm . good luck :)

Braemar
Braemar   DM

Hi Craig, thanks for sharing this and I’m sorry your TH415NG isn’t running as it should. The RESET flashing and inconsistent operation you’re describing isn’t normal and could point to a flame sensor or another component issue.

Could you please email us at seeleysocial@seeleyinternational.com with your full name, contact details, unit serial number and location? We’ll coordinate next steps and get a service technician to assist.

In the meantime, please avoid repeated resets and make sure the return grille is clear of any obstructions.

i have TH420NG since 2014 or 2015 at 5th years, it was broken, and i had to replace pressure controller. Till recently, it was broken again and never start. I am going to dump it and never buy one Braemar again.

I have a TH3, and when powered the fan runs, It looks like the pressure switch activates, the piezo runs but gas doesn't turn on and the gas led doesn't turn on resulting in no flame and then it shuts down. Is it likely an ignition module or PCB fault?

Can cooling units be added to this gas central heat unit

W w.

Does anyone else unit make loud banging noises. It only seems to happen between 2- 5am even though ive had the unit on all nite. Installed 2011.

Braemar

It sounds like your unit may need a service, and we recommend booking one here: external link  Regarding adding cooling to your gas central heating unit, it may be possible to integrate a reverse cycle system, but this would need to be assessed by a technician. We recommend discussing this option with the service team during your appointment.

I have a TH4X30N unit under the house. I had the power off for 30 minutes while I was getting some electrical work done (non related). Now the unit does not turn on. IS there a pilto light that needs to be activated??

Braemar
Braemar   DM

Hi There, the system does not have a pilot light, it uses an electronic ignition. We recommend that you call 1300 650 644 to get a qualified Seeley International Service Agent to attend. It may just be coincidental that the heater is not working after the power was turned off for a period. Kind Regards, Rebecca from Seeley International

I have a Braemar TG430N model - how come the controller is reading 79 degrees?

The power is working fine and no error code shown but the heater will not activate anymore.

Thanks,

Braemar
Braemar   DM

Hi Brian, can you confirm your model? I know you have listed TG430N, but this question is posted under our TH series. TG and TH models use different controllers. Do you have a MagIQtouch Controller? Is it possible the controller is showing temperature in farenheit vs celcius? This can be changed in the settings - general.

TG Heaters use Spectrolink controllers, and the TG range ceased manufacture in 2008. Given the age of the unit, there could be a number of reasons for an incorrect temperature display, and we would highly encourage you to call our Service Support team directly on 1300 650 644 if the problem persists, to diagnose correctly. Thanks, Diana at Seeley International.

Hi I have a Breamar TH430 ducted heater. It stoped working and i get the message reset code 16. I tried many thanks many times to reset it but nothing worked. I keep getting error code 16. Any idea how to fix this? Thank you

Braemar
Braemar   DM

Hi H K Error code 16 means there is a fault with the thermistor which measures the temperature going into the house. This must be repaired/replaced by a service technician. I recommend contacting our service department on 1300 650 644 or booking online at external link  Our service technicians use genuine parts, are factory trained and specialise in servicing Braemar appliances. All the best with getting your ducted gas heater operating again. Kind Regards, Rebecca from Seeley International

Have a TH4 was getting a intermittent 07 fault code on T'stat, replaced ignition rods and seemed OK for a while. Now the 07 flame fall code is appearing again and requires resetting more often than is normal. Checked out the ignition module in fault mode and have no fault indicators flashing. what could it be gas or electric problem. P.C board seems to be working OK .

Hi i Have a Breamar ecostar th4 heater and now when i turn it on the inducer gets up to full speed and the heater shuts off with an error code 11 on the the spectrolink controller inside the house. i reset it from the controller then it does the same thing again but gives an error code of 1 . i have replace one of the pressure switches but that did not help. i can get the heater going by switching off then disconnecting the purple wire to pressure switch > turn the power back on > wait till the inducer motor gets to full speed and i put the purple wire back on the pressure switch and the heater ignites and runs as normal. i replaced board a few years ago with a repaired board. not sure what change next

My TH4 sometimes brings up the flame logo on the wall controller , fan logo then stops everything . Ex-sparkie here by the way . Outside and Took off heater lid , combustion fan is turning very slowly . two led's on pcb on , the one marked gas is not . The combustion fan coil windings are light brown but no burnt smell. This happened last winter called service Co , 1 hour before he arrived everything was perfect , cancelled service call back then .Need advice this year please.

TH4 Nothing but grief and it's still is a problem and I've been told by experts it could be due to the provider failing to fix instalation problems, that were not rectified for 6 months after instalation. These mistakes are likly too have damaged the Bramear Heating . I paid Cold Flow $10,400 for supply and fittin of ducted heating and evaporated cooling and had I no heating at all when I moved in for six months, evapotated cooling never missed a beat. Dec 2016 heater repaired 2022 No heating 2023 intermittent heating issues 2016 Cold Flow cancelled repairs time and time again claiming they were waiting on parts. Without heating I recieved huge electricity and gas bill, so shocking that AGL sent an inspector out the following day to check my premises, their were no l issues. I provided the AGL inspection reports to Cold Flow who made apointments and broke them for 6 months.I had no heating the entire winter,& I suffer from asmtha and was sick.I begged for assistanc, Cold Flow Servise Manageress lacked empathy even when I was in tears and she said to wait. I had waited 8 weeks already without any heating in a new house !. In Dec my concerned brother spoke to the service manageress ,her attitude was rude & carless& didmissife .He followed that call up with a conversation with Cold Flow Managment. My brother, a Managing Director himself spoke to the Sales Manager who arranged a meeting at my house for the following week Cold Flow sales manager, Daravin Gas, my brother and himself meet at my house. The repairer quickly accessed my heater and diagnosed a multiple of instalation errors.. The Darabbin gas Tech fixed what he could within apx an hour. 1/zones were not as per heating cooling plan, provided and incorrect placement of vents which could not be altrered without patching the ceilings. 2/Heat duct not attached in living area, were cut short and secured with duct tape was no longer attached [That explained my bills) 3/ The monster mistake ! A hose designed to drain condensation outside to the gutter was draining water back into the heatering unit system.. The Daraben gas guy fixed what he could and the heating was working in apx an hour. Cold Flow manager made no apologises for their instalastion nor did he offer any compensation or for the pain and suffering or expenses I had acured. My heater is great when it works, quiet warm and very economical, but unreliable 2022. Not heating, Rang Cold Flow would not provide technical repairs under the 6 year warranty. I was told my warranty had expired a few weeks before my call. I argued then argued my heater was used for only 5 years of a six year warranty. Flat out no claim. I called ia Bramear repairer, he couldn't identify the isue but said this model heater is usually good but in his opinoin the unit was most likely water damaged from the faulty instal & beyond repair and he could not guarantee his work and wavered his call out fee ! He advised me my heater needed to be replaced not repaired . The next Bramear repairer was puzzled after two hours, also said he supect water damage and iincorect ducting issues . I could not afford to replace the heater never the long re plaster the ceilings. Last minute, last ditch effort he changed the thermostat ! Wonderfull ! It worked perfectly for rest of the winter but only last year. 2023 it turns off with out warning , somtimes it starts again and somtimes it needs too be cold to start & the zones no longer work at all. I will never know if it was a good or bad heater due the instalation of my ducted heating. I it had been installed per Bramear Instalation insructions would it have been better ? Probably ! Both repairs think so. but they disliked the Specto Link controler. My advice, be very carefull to do your reseach on the heater and also, check Supplier reviews. If you buy a faulty product don't be intimidated, dont wait months see a solicitor ,talk to Fair Trading, lodge a complaint at VCAT asap I have had two calls from Cold Flow regarding my review.theres not been an offer to fix or replace the heater and I have no intention to remove my review of my very horrible experience. I hope this is advice is helpfull and you are fore warned, warm and are happy with your provider and the heater you purchased. Lyn S Hillsille Vic

Hi Peter Please get in touch with your nearest Braemar technician which you can find here external link  or you can call 1300 650 644 to book in a service. It's best to contact a Braemar approved repairer because they have more knowledge of the Braemar systems, have better access to parts and can perform warranty repairs. If your system is less than 7 years old it may still be under warranty. However, just be aware our warranty has conditions for the system to be covered. I'm happy to provide this information if you need it. All the best with getting your gas heater up and running! Kind Regards Rebecca

I've had that flame and no heat ! I did a reset of spectrolink controler. Take it off wall, un plugged the spectrolink controller. Wait for 5 min then followed the spectro link manual on how to reset.. Did u test the thermostate ? It a $26.00 part and can cause the heater to start then suddenly stop. Lyn

Come on Peter, there’s no such beast as an ex sparky , just retired Like me. My TH ducted heater started playing up with startup and then lockout with error code 7 .Next time ok but then we were having to reset the controller every startup. What to do ? First removed and. cleaned the sensor at the the right hand side of the gas train replaced and tried to start , d—m still the same . Long story short purchased a sensor and spark assembly from eBay for about$80 for both (pays to shop around)and replaced both Warning!! The powers that be have made changes to the spark assembly, there are now 2 electrodes aca like a spark plug and it will not fit into the mounting bracket. A new type was provided with a “ half” hole . The 2 self tapping screws holding the old bracket refused to be removed not easy to get to and even with my trusty rattle gun just succeeded in ripping the Allen screw head to bits. Had to get my mini grinder in and grind the heads off ( 5 minute job turned out to be 30 mins!! And all this time the house was getting colder (Melbourne weather) anyway all good , fired up again and the air turned blue , just the same ran for a while but as the duct fan was powering up to 10 everything stopped and the dreaded 7 came up again. I then started to read the blogs on various sites . Discovered that the duct thermo couple should read 55 degrees when the hot air begins to flow mine was showing 44 when the up and down arrows where pressed together. I had purchased a new t/ c the one with the 6 mt. Lead from another store on eBay and and I Then forced my 76 year old body to do a bit of under floor crawling and removed the old and fit the new. They recommended a distance of 3 mts from the heater in the hot air duct but mine is 2. Heater came good and the duct temp is now 55c . Ps I also checked out the 2 pressure switches on the flue exhaust fan and they where ok . Both normally open and close on air pressure . I think it’s 55 and 100 could be wrong . And there’s my long story short. Good job I’m a sparky. It pays to know what the unit in the heater is looking for at each stage of start up before it moves on to the next stage.

Chriss

The BSC has detected that heat exchanger over temp 2 is open at start-up and heat exchanger over temperature switch 1 is closed and the system goes to lockout2 and can only be reset using a Braemar SCC from service mode. Contact a service agent.

Sorry I did not know that answer as mine has had many faults. The known faults and their error codes can be found on the Bramear web site. It sounds like a job for service man to me and my advice is to ask for the price of their call out fees and their hourly rate before employing a bramear repairer. The rates for a repairer are definately not equal and can vary by hundreds of dollars. Lyn

Hi everyone. I’m sending up a flare. My TH430 unit with the Bradman Spectrolink ‘hardwired’ control has not been used since the tail end of last winter - at least 4.5 months. We’re now in the height of summer. As you will know, the controller always has a display showing. On the weekend I noticed it went off for the first time since installed in 2009. Hmmmm… nothing has thrown out on the main switch board; the wiring from the back of the controller to the unit (some 15 mtrs) is A-OK; power supply from the GPO to the unit is fine…. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what it could be please? Could it be either the PCB or the wall controller? Should I lean towards one? I have a multimeter & can use it safely. Multi thanks in advance… Ian

I have had an ongoing issue error code 07 where my LPG Braemar TH series heater will start but flash reset after about 10 seconds. I had their service agent Darebin Gas out more times then I care to imagine. But after a few months the same thing happens, I had them out just 3.5 weeks ago and yet again the issue has returned. They are trying to tell me that I need a new heater as just about everything needs to be replaced but they just can’t fix this. The Service Manager and National Service Manager are useless and have offered jack crap !! I asked for one of them to come out and check it out but we’re told that it’s over 10 years old what do I expect !!!! Can anyone offer me a minor insight or recommend someone who knows a thing about this error code who has more brains to at least give a straight answer instead of taking my money for doing absolutely nothing !!!!

My heater did the same and it was due to a faulty thermostat. Part cost $108 and service fee $220 and it is heating the house but my zones do not work? I have made lots of inquiries since and I’ve been told many times a faulty Spectrolink controller. It’s very likely that it caused the thermostat to fault and why my zones do no work. Im warm again so haven’t replaced my controller yet .The remote control (Spectrolink) is expensive, apx $380. The good news is it easy to find the part and you can replace it yourself.even if it is wall mounted, just unplug the old one and plug new one in. Good Luck and I Hope this helps .Lyn
