My Breezair EXH170 is 14 years old and the wired wall controller shows the cooling and fan is on, yet there is no response from the main unit, just "Waiting". The gas heater operates from the wall controller, so assume the wall controller is not the problem. I had the BCB Control Board replaced just over 12 months ago, and pads replaced due to the same malfunction. It then worked ok at that time. The unit failed to respond 3 months ago, and was "fixed" by a licensed plumber, who has since retired. While it worked then, it has now failed again. Should I have it looked by another licensed plumber (at some cost), or simply replace it because of its age?
Hi Colin, We apologise for the inconvenience you’ve experienced. We would like to investigate further to find the best possible solution for you. Could you please email us at seeleysocial@seeleyinternational.com with your unit details, including the serial number, location, and your preferred contact information?
Thank you.
Should the ‘overflow’ water be running out at more than a trickle? Current rate 1 Ltr per minute.
No idea. Sorry, Robert.
Exh170 Pump will not start up tried another still the same everything else seems to be okay. Thanks Harry.

my ezh215-g trips circuit breaker without running. power to unit but not turned on. Do you have any idea's. Frank
Hello Frank, You can contact 1300 650 644 to organise a service agent in your area. Alternately you can go through our website to find a service agent external link
Thank you ~ Craig
i will write my own answer seeing I ended up finding the problem myself. I ask a question about a problem and I get a phone number to ring at steely international. It was a faulty control box.
Thanks Frank. How did you fix it? ~ Craig
What size are the filter pads
I ve no idea never open it
But replacing the spare parts of $600ish only after 5 years and a few months is sucks as when you count you only use it for 3-4 months in a year its mean this model only lasted 20 months! While my previous Breezair that i installed in 1987 lasted me 25 years
Has anyone had their Evap coolers fixed outside of warranty under the Australian Consumer Law?
No l didn't try l still believe l did not get fair usage out of the product so maybe it might be worth pursuing this avenue.
Myone evaporative breezair wall mounted remote is playing up and changing from two higher cooling to one level cooling and if I want to work it on vent it wont do it it goes back to cooling. Do I need to change the battery?. (2) where is the battery on the wall mounted remote located?
What store can you buy this at?
There are several sellers in the Denver area. I would not recommend a Breezair but if you must I would call Metro Heating and Cooling.
Hi there, I am after some info on the main differences between a Brivis and a Coolair evaporative system. Which was is the best for price,, efficiency and durability?
Thanks, Mike
Sorry dont know much about Brivis but in terms of efficiency, quietness not price, the Breezeair is good. The blower fan designed is good however the motor (brushless type) durability and reliability is questionable. Many failures and a very expensive item to replace. So stay away from this product unless you can afford to upkeep this " Rolls Royce". Would suggest a reverse cycle air-con, as more cost effective and beneficial in the long term. You are able to use it all year round. Hope infor is useful.
Hi Chris, thank you for your input.
Cheers,
Mike
I can't vouch for the Coolair, but our Breezair EZH215 died after 6.5 years. Too expensive to repair ($1650) so will replace with complete new unit. Seeley Internationals service department were unwilling to help us unless we spent more money to get their service technicians out to inspect the unit. In my opinion, steer clear of any of their products!
Mike, maybe a separate topic but worth knowing that the Australian Consumer Law provide consumers statutory guarantees that often exceed warranties.
We are looking at replacing our brivis with breezair EXH210 have been told we have to replace all ducting and vents due to new unit needing smaller ducting true or false?
False. You are being ripped off. Unless your ducting is in very poor condition - it should be re-usable.
what's the life expectancy of the Breezair fan motor? Why it's so expensive to replace it? Mind you an exhaust fan is only $20 and lasts years and years?
Hi Fay, I was advised the motor could last up to 20 yrs, however would need close monitoring after 10 yrs. In saying that, ours starting playing up after 2.5 years and needed to be completely replaced after 3, not to mention the consistent other faults since installation as well.
I'm not sure exactly how much the motor would cost to replace as ours was covered under the 5yr warranty, however I was told it could be anywhere from $500 and up.
We are now looking at purchasing a refrigerated system as we are sick and tired of this awful product!
What I found out from Seeley International (Breezair's manufacturer) is that the actual motor is $470, plus GST, total $517. But you'll have to pay for the companies that service the product, and their sub contractors. In my case, it's $200 coming in to do the partial service, and identify the problem. Then $800 to replace the motor (motor included). When you get it installed, they only tell you the low ongoing running cost, no one tells you about the ongoing maintenance cost, which is $180, if you're lucky, every second year. Refrigerated is good in the long run, but the power capacity must be right for the size of the house. My old unit was too weak for the house, it was doing nothing.f
6.5 Years. Our Breezair EZH215 motor died, along with the electric control board. Was quoted by Seeley Internationals Vic Service Manager $1650 to replace parts. Parts come with 12 month warranty only. Better to replace unit with something that will go the distance and steer well clear of Breezair.
Hi Fay, it is difficult to answer your question since many evaporative coolers last more than 10 years without any hassle. It might be worth checking your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. If you are in Victoria, guidance can be provided by Consumer Affairs Vic. There are articles on the web from Choice that provide an indication on the life expectancy of common products.
