Britax Safe-n-Sound Kid Guard PRO Questions & Answers
VerifiedWhat are the washing instructions for the covers please? Can they be machine washed and if so on what setting?
Hi Alexandra, thanks for your question. The care instructions are located on a label on the inside of the cover, they are machine washable however we would suggest if you also washing any insert that you place them in a laundry bag. Kind regards, the Britax team.
Is this seat superior to the Britax Hi Liner sg?
Hi Kellie P. Thanks for your question. The Kid Guard PRO is now a discontinued product in our range. We now have the Safe-n-Sound Kid Guard which is from 4-10 years approx. in age whereas the Hi Liner SG is from 4-8 years approx. If you have further questions please call us on 1300 303 330. I am looking for a seat suitable for my 9yr olds. After talking with a guy from a child restraint company, he recommends the Britax S & S Kid guard suggesting it will suit the kids until they are 12. We don't want to buy new seats if we are only going to get 1yr out of them. If the max height is 135cm. they are about that now. What do you suggest. Thanks Jenny
Hi Jenelle Hughes, thanks for your question. The Safe-n-Sound Kid Guard is from tested 4years-10years approx. The Britax Kid Guard has an Upper height marker position of 542mm. This is equivalent to a total standing height range between 135cm – 155cm. If your child is less than a total height of 145cm, you can seat them in the booster to determine fitment. If their shoulder is beneath the upper height marker, they can safely use this seat. If your child is taller than 145cm, and their shoulder height is under the upper height marker position, they can safely use this seat. Kind regards, the Britax Childcare team.
why was the Britax kid guard pro discontinued?
Hi Oli, thanks for your question. Products are often discontinued to allow new products to be placed in the market. We made some changes to the Kid Guard Pro and replaced this with the Kid Guard. These changes were removing the SICT to enable improved full height adjustment fitment in smaller vehicles with lower side pillar trims. The SICT was replaced with a feature called AHR (active head restraint) which is a simple to use adjustable headrest designed specifically with deep side wings lined with EPS to shield and protect your child’s head in a side impact crash. The Kid Guard also has extra height, 12mm more growth than Kid Guard Pro, now 542mm from 530mm. If you have any further questions, please feel free to email us on au-support@britax.com
Kind regards, the Britax childcare team.

Does this seat fold forward & collapse at the base? We have just bought a 7 seater & need a car seat for my son which can fold forward when we flip the 2nd row of seats forward to reach the 3rd row.
Hi Tracy, thanks for your question. This seat does fold forward however I don't believe this will be suitable as the seat must always used the top tether strap. Please feel free to give us a call on 1300 303 330 if you would like to discuss this with us in further detail. Kind regards, the Safe--Sound team.
What’s the maximum height that this seat can take? My son is 137cm and find it hard to sit comfortably in most car seats.
Hi Clovellyc, thanks for your question. The Britax Safe-n-Sound Kid Guard Pro seated height is approx. 530mm however we now have the Britax Safe-n-Sound Kid Guard - external link which has a seated height of 542mm approx. The easiest way to measure your child's seated height is to place them against a wall and measure from the base of the wall to the child's shoulder. Please feel free to give us a call on 1300 303 330 if you would like to discuss this with us further. Kind regards, the Britax Safe-n-Sound team.
