had only half an hour left after I showed her just a 3 room and 1 bathroom, very concerning given the time I paid for.

The cleaners were slow, and the results were far from thorough. They didn’t even clean the drain in the shower. While the fronts of cupboards were wiped, the tops were ignored, and I keep finding other areas that were overlooked. This service felt like a complete rip-off. Avoid CleanHouse Melbourne and save yourself the frustration!”

Fantastic job - efficient quick and excellent job – The total experience in dealing with Clean House Melbourne was so easy, uncomplicated and they simply did what they said they would. Mimmo was great as the first phone contact, the team turned up on time, and finished on time. Bathroom taps and accessories left unpolished. And the owner refused to compensate us for the damage done to the Lego set.

Rip off. Rude stuff – They 420 $ for a 6 hour cleaning job and did just windows (inside only ) and left. once the staff arrived they looked around my empty house and Shaji’s just to wipe clean the cabinets and kitchen benches they need 9.5 hours. (which does not consist of the people on the website- it is just him as "manager" and his wife and his son on the road) to clean my 75 year old mum's house. I was initially recommended them by another cleaning company on the Mornington Peninsula that did an amazing job on a holiday house we were staying at.

After requesting a 3-hour clean (about standard for my mum's house, based upon previous cleaners), [Name Removed] advised that his minimum was "6 hours" and that he would charge $80/hr, and then I said I'd accept if he could do it for $70/hr and do the whole house thoroughly.

Upon arrival, his wife spoke tersely to my mum, not asking, but dictating what she and her son would do. In 6 hours, this consisted of the kitchen (3 hours), the small upstairs bathroom (2 hours) and the downstairs toilet (1 hour). OUTRAGEOUSLY slow and inefficient. And the quality was not even that good. I can clean my mum's entire house in 3 hours to a reasonable standard, without being a professional cleaner, so heaven knows what they were doing for 6 hours. Well, they did spend an hour upstairs, arguing!

The tipping point for me is how uncomfortable they made my mum- for whom I had organised the clean. Mum is really rattled by how rude and curt [Name Removed]'s wife was, and [Name Removed] just lies to cover his tracks (claiming that my mum was "standing over" his wife for 3 hours- when in reality my mum was reading the newspaper in the living room).

Last but not least, I spent 30mins on the phone this evening with [Name Removed] calmly explaining my grievances and providing a reasonable opportunity and reasonable suggestions for him to remedy it. His response was "you book in another job with us [of 6 hours] and we will throw in 1 hour for free". No thanks!

If you check through the other low google reviews- you'll see similar. I've also gone back to the company that recommended [Name Removed] to say "never again" and I will also take Clean House Melbourne to the Small Claims Tribunal.

Don't waste your money – We contacted a company called "Pet Stain Remover" via the 1800 number on their web site. It turns out that it is run by the same people as "Clean House Melbourne". hoped they would be able to clean our carpets properly. This requirement was communicated clearly to the person at the end of their 1800 number when I asked for a quote.

The appointment was booked for 8am on a Thursday morning and they required to be paid ahead of time. That should have been a red flag but we accepted their excuses that they don't want their cleaners to handle money and they hadn't been paid for work in the past.

Their cleaners turned up about 8:15 am. After being shown around, they went to unload and set up their equipment. They were leaving by just after 9:00 am which immediately made me suspicious because the total area being cleaned was about 65 square metres. As they walked out, I asked them if they had finished and been successful removing the stains and they said that they had been. They took me to where they had been working, as if to show me the result, but the carpet was wet, of course, which made it difficult to judge.

It took a few hours before the carpets were dry enough to walk on so that I could inspect the work. It was at that time that I realised just how badly the job had been done.

I contacted them immediately and made a complaint, asking them to rectify, but after 1 week they had not responded. I tried contacting them again, this time asking for a refund, and received a response which said: • 2 technicians were sent to the job site • They finished the job in 45 mins • One pre soaked the carpet with the treatment, while the supervisor prepared the equipment • Carpet is in a high traffic area, the supervisor advised the customer due to it being a high traffic area, the carpet stain can't be fully removed • After the job was finished, the supervisor let the customer check the work before he left.

This doesn't really match up with their web site claim of "... our professional pet stain eraser professionals in Melbourne would use a combination of steam cleaning, deodorising and wide array carpet surface treatment procedures for removal of the pungent smell of urine odour and its stain."

Wide array [of] carpet surface treatment procedures?

It doesn't seem likely that they were able to pre-soak anything if they were out in under 45 minutes. How long did they let the "pre-soak" treatment sit? The carpet is about 2 years old and was specifically purchased because of its resilience in high traffic areas. Their claim doesn't add up.

Since they're not going to rectify the problem and aren't going to refund, I have posted this review in order to help others avoid the mistake I made. The company appears to have multiple names and has many web sites and contact numbers - but uses the same address The names that I found - and I would recommend that you avoid - are:

Over priced and undelivered service promised – We organised and paid for a Premium package worth $170 for a Sunday job with the following inclusions: 3 bedrooms carpet cleaning, sanitising and guaranteed to be machine dried. Pre-sale clean – received anything but that – My house was left almost bare in preparation for the pre sale clean. After spending more than an hour and a half cleaning after they had left and discovering more and more areas that were not properly attended to, I called the manager to express my disappointment and request a partial refund (I paid $770 in total). He was incredibly patronising towards me and just said ‘we did our job, you checked it before we left’. I told him it was ridiculous and completely unrealistic to think that I was or needed to check the house top to bottom to review their work (before they finished) when this is their job and they should have done the job correctly in the first place. I went on to say that my fortnightly cleaner does a better job and his remark to that was, ‘well perhaps you should give me her number’.

I WOULD NOT recommend this company, they are not professional and are a complete rip off for what they ended up doing.

was bathrooms, which they did. Second priority was vacuum and mop floors. They didn't even get to second priority.

Not only didn't they vacuum parts of the house and left dust and dirt in places, but they did not mop the floors at all as they left it til last then ran out of time. They also walked some kind of sticky residue all over the wooden floors with their boots and left the floors dirtier than when they arrived!

Spoke to the manager afterwards and requested a partial refund as they had not done the bare minimum of cleaning the floors for $420. His response was 'they did a good job of other things so we don't owe you anything'. Wow.

Will never use them again and want to warn people not to fall for their slick sales pitch - it doesn't result in a good job, and it's incredibly over-priced. Beware.
