Cole and Bright Maxima Wall Security Light Questions & Answers
After install and had all day to charge light still is not working
Have the instructions been followed and the switch on the light been placed in the correct position? This is critical. Was the solar panel protective layer removed and the panel exposed to bright sunlight for as long as possible. If the sky is cloudy, the battery may take longer to charge. If you've done all this and still no success then the unit is faulty and take it back.
Lamp is fully charged ,at dusk it comes on and stays on until it flattens battery?
Try adjusting the light sensitivity by turning the adjustment knob so that the light comes on when it's much darker and adjust the timer duration knob/ setting to a much shorter duration - check the instruction leaflet
it is a maxima radar 360,no adjustment controls
my light has stopped working after a very heavy rainfall during a storm. It may have been inundated when the gutter overflowed. Is it waterproof?
These rortsters claim its waterproof, but after what I went through I doubt it. Mine never stayed on for more than 2 hours, I returned it to the "Bejing market" Bunnings, days after I made the mistake of buying it. Best you return this shoddy good to place of purchase, if they play up, threaten media action, given all the bad reviews, you should have no trouble returning this overpriced garbage.
Bought 4, first 2 seem to work ok but the next 2 both switch off when the panel lead is plugged in. Why?
this happens to me too - did you fix thie issue?
We bought 3 of them and the light won’t come on
Will only come on when you unplug the solar panel for some silly reason.
same for me - did you find a fix for the issue?
What size batteries does the 63757 hold
Probably a silly question, but is it possible to charge the batteries manually without the solar panel
Why doesn't it work with power leaders plugged in
Why doesn't it work while it's plugged into solar charger
Where can I buy a replacement glass
Three questions please. Does rain activate the sensor as mentioned with other buyers. Is this light HI/low brilliance or simply an on/off switch position? How much for a battery replacement pack - where to buy?
Suggestion: more info' on Bunnings site, battery details, weather proof IP rating (if any)? Hi/Low if applicable and other details to assist buyer/user from this site.
Rain sets these lights off I've got two of these units and they both are activated by the rain and continually stay on until it ceases. If the rain doesn't stop in a few hours they use up all their power in the batteries and their done for the night. The problem lies in the way they are triggered they don't use a I.R. type motion sensor to turn them on like in the majority of lights on the market they use a type of Radar activation. They also aren't waterproof both my light have filled up with water but still work for now. I can't remember what batteries they use as I've never changed em yet. One positive is it is a very bright light one of the brighter ones on the market.
Hi Ruslan, thanks for the reply! How old is yours? Had my doubts about the water resistance but how will it perform under eaves (no rain) for example. Do the actual "rain drops" get radar detected causing it to activate? Under cover should be okay?
Can I know why it not working when I put the wire in , do I have to put it during morning and take it off at night , because the paper didn't explain that
Being solar it needs to charge battery so in order to do that the wire needs to be attached into the socket @ all times & will need darkness to activate once the battery has enough charge. Hope that helps Mirella D.
I'm having the same problem. Light and sensor don't work while plugged into the solar panel, but unplugged they do?
mie too - did you find a fix?
Hello, we have recently (early April 2021) purchased 8 cole & bright security 50 lumen jordan pathway lights @$20 each from Bunnings & are extremely impressed to the point we intended purchasing many more to continue making our garden safe & impressive. My problem is that with in a week or so 1 light has gone out. As we are unable to find our sales docket we are wondering if the light can be returned to you or Bunnings (perhaps a return authorisation) for replacement? We would be grateful for any assistance you can provide as previously stated we are impressed & do intend purchasing more soon. With thanks, Sue (ashadon2@bigpond.com)
Purchased a security sensor light. Followed all instructions. Now in position as soon as we put lead into light & turned it won't work. As soon as lead is removed it works fine????
If the solar panel is in the sunlight it automatically turns the the light off. It was designed to only turn the light on after dark.
Unfortunately it's crap & being returned. We tried it in the dark ect but as soon as you plug it in it turns off.
Is there a reason the light does not work during the day? I have it set up in a small dark shed and the solar panel is mounted on the roof outside.
The light may not have enough charge in the batteries is the solar panel connected properly? but I think that it may have a photo light sensor inside to stop it triggering in the day.
I only put it in today so it maybe the battery. It is working right now whilst it is dark outside when I open the door so I will see what happens in the daylight tomorrow.
The unit monitors the solar cell voltage and will disable the light if the solar cell is in sunlight. You can remove a resistor to disable this but it may not be able to fully charge the battery.
Why does my security light keep coming on when it rains 2000 lumen
It's the type of sensor they use on it mine does the same thing they should not use this type of sensor on any security light. It's just a waste of time n money as it runs down the battery fast. If only they bothered to test it in the rain it would be scraped for sure.
Should you leave the light on high or high/low during the night
Is it possible to obtain an additional extension of the power lead from the solar panel to the light? Having just installed a maxima 2000 lumen security light I had about one metre of cable excess. Now that I have installed a second light identical to the first light I find that I need an additional three metres of cable to be able to connect the second light to the solar panel at a separate location. Is it possible to obtain an extra three and a half metres of cable with a male and female ends, or could I obtain a complete lead 7.5 to 8.0 metres in length. Thanking you Bill Nedeff. The longer the cable, the less it will maintain power.
