flight cancelled, incurred extra travel costs, that was december, still no action, no communication, just delays and disgusting customer service. in short - stay clear of this company, more holes in the policy than swiss cheese. in fact useless cover., no cover. no help, no result, nothing, zip. worst of the worst. Show details

Reasons to insure your expensive travel arrangements. our Travel Insurance. The process was a little tedious however we were always kept informed and up-to-date regarding the progress of our claim. What was most important was the fact that we had kept all of the original documents, receipts and diary entries regarding our travel arrangements and also the events that lead us to eventually making a claim. Included with all of our original documents was a detailed description of events. I believe that there is no such thing as too much information when it comes to an insurance claim. We purchase insurance almost every time time we have an insurable event such as travel whether it be domestic or international. Claims can be a lot more than just medical - it can be an easy excuse to say that we are covered by the Australian medical system therefore I do not need insurance. In summary, and in hindsight, it was well worth the extra expense of insuring our travel arrangements.

 Follow-up  · Our daughter Kellie paid for the second room. She was covered by the insurance for the holiday. She is a nurse and was needed to look after her mother. The room payments are covered by the printout on her credit card statement. They are similar to my credit card statement. The 8th/10th of may. You have all the paperwork there. Hope you can help. When I finally returned home, I made a claim with my travel insurer, Covermore, to cover the costs of an unanticipated overnight stay. I am not great with technology; however, the Covermore claim system was so easy that I was able to lodge my claim quickly online (no direct assistance was necessary). A couple of weeks later I was informed by email that my claim was approved; the cost of my unanticipated stay in Melbourne was transferred into my account within days. The claiming process was so easy and prompt, and Covermore did not challenge any part of my claim. On the sole basis of my experience, I'm delighted to be able to recommend Covermore travel insurance for added peace of mind while travelling within Australia.

 Follow-up  · The airline offered no compensation, nor were they legally obliged to do so (I mentioned this in my travel insurance claim and attached the airline's email as proof). home in time to get back to work for my husband and I, and the airlines cancelled our flights and would not answer our hours and hours of calls ( 12 plus hours) to get alternative flights and help to get home before the cyclone hit the coast. With no alternative we had to make arrangements that cost us four times our original flight costs to get home including flights partially home and then a hiring a car to get the rest of the way home. If we did not get home - no work means no money for our home, family and bills and to pay back the costs we had to make to get home. But Cover-More listened to us and the insurance covered the costs of our extra forced expenses and we were able to once again have faith in the system and be able to breathe again financially. Thank you to Cover-More and the team who helped with our claim. We are so ever grateful for your help in these matters. It was a good price policy and easy to set up and the claim was lodged and even with a few teething problems with my not knowing how to do things - we were given clear instructions and it was processed. No coverage for travel disruption due to plane issues – I took out insurance for a recent trip to Lord Howe Island as the flights are often disrupted due to weather and other issues, and wanted to make sure that I was fully covered. The flight to Sydney had mechanical issues at takeoff and the flight was aborted/cancelled, and Qantas rescheduled us to a recovery flight the next day (and provided… Read more

overnight accommodation). This meant that I missed my connecting domestic Jetstar flight that was booked separately to the Qantas flight - so I had to purchase a ticket for another Jetstar flight the next night to get back home from Sydney. When I went to claim the cost of the additional Jetstar flight the claim was denied. Travel disruptions that result from mechanical issues are excluded on the policy wording. I am really disappointed that Covermore has excluded such a common and reasonable reason for travel disruption. I would not have expected this to be an exclusion in the policy wording. I guess I will just learn from this and I will never use them again.

I submitted my travel insurance claim with the required documentation and was genuinely impressed with the process. My claim was approved within three days and the funds were in my account within four days.

The whole experience was straightforward, efficient and stress-free, during what was already a difficult situation. I will definitely be using Cover-More again and would highly recommend them to anyone considering travel insurance.

Good luck trying to get a quote from Covermore. Their online application form is faulty and trying to get a quote over the phone is frustrating to say the least .... Impossible to understand staff, asking mountains of invasive personal questions when you don't want medical insurance and simply do not understand what you are after, Go elsewhere, life is too short. Show details

Finally, after 3 months for a very small baggage damage claim. I am 80 years old and this took forever. How would I ever have the receipt of luggage previously purchased. When I went to cancel the cover on the website it crashed; it took me two phone calls and an email before they finally confirmed that it was cancelled, and to this day they still haven't sent me the cancellation… Read more

confirmation documents they said they would. My refund was supposed to take 7-10 business days and instead took 23 business days, 3 phone calls and 4 emails before I finally got my refund. I have used covermore before and thought that there were good, but after this experience I shudder to think what would happen if I have ever had to make a claim..... I won't be using them again going forward

particularly from the various tour operators but persistence paid off and the claim was submitted. Cover More stated that they required at least 10 days to review and respond to the claim. I am happy to say that 10 days later Cover More have responded and approved my claim for a refund. I have used Cover More many times over the last 15 years or so and have never had any problem with either my travel claims or their response. And I will continue to use them in the future.

Covermore has been spectacular throughout this experience. I was messed around by the manufacturer of the suitcase I purchased as it was damaged on holidays. Covermore had my back every step of the way and didn't make it any harder than necessary to make my claim. I would never use any other travel insurer and I plan to do a lot more travelling. terrible stories about travel insurers finding all sorts of loop holes to get out of not paying and it being a long drawn out process but this was not our experience at all. The Covermore staff were so helpful when I rang multiple times to get an understanding of the process, what we needed to do and getting the information to us. The form was quite straightforward to complete. We received our outcome letter that they would cover our trip in full (within the 10 days they advised communication would be by) and then payment came through a few days later. The relief was immense. We are very grateful for it to be sorted so easily.

Once all the necessary paperwork was sent through to them, claim was successfully approved within 5 working days. I was very pleased with the service provided by Cover-More when one of our party broke her ankle on a recent family holiday in Noosa. A Cover-More representative was assigned to us when we made an initial call and followed up to advise terms of the insurance and provide assistance if needed. I experienced an unexpected medical episode requiring emergency surgery the day before flying to Norfolk Island on holiday.
