back to Australia sitting in business class unattended by medical staff to Darwin where she would have been relased from any care at all. Still with a broken neck. Medical staff at the hospital finally refused to release her until the fractures were stable all the time getting calls and emails from Covermore refuasing to pay. This went on for 2 weeks !!! I flew to be with her and ran up travel costs myself mediating for her. The doctors and surgeon were disgusted. I finally got the airline to refuse to carry her. Then they wanted to send a private medical medivac aircraft from Australia to onboard her but again only so they could stop paying hospital bills at point of injury, NOT because of caring for her or her recovery. Disgusting worst story I have ever heard. I am writing this review because I recently saw an advertisement from Covermore saying how caring they are !

straightforward and Cover-More approved the claim. It took about 3.5 months to obtain approval but the delay was because I thought I had forwarded an additional, requested document but when Cover-More emailed me why they hadn't heard from me, I discovered I had not done so. Upon receipt of that document, Cover-More were quick in approving the claim. This was my first time using Cover-More. I am very happy with the service provided.

good knowledge of the hospital and resolved my questions about the risks of surgery while overseas. They preapproved the hospital charges and regularly checked on my progress by phone. After I returned to Australia, they also approved my additional medical expenses paid for in cash during the holiday. They saved my trip, and there was no need to return to Australia early. The best we could have hoped for – My wife and I took out standard travel insurance for an urgent economy trip to Auckland from Perth on ANZAC day 2024. The policy was not overpriced but has saved us a lot of money. My wife broke her ankle the day after arriving in Auckland. Call Centre good, website crashed with 14 medical conditions – I used the call centre only because the website quoting system crashed when 3+11 (a couple) medical conditions were input for assessment. I only needed to speak to staff a couple of times and every time that were helpful and accurate with their responses. I received clear direction. Email responses were prompt and within described timeframes. The company made making a claim an easy process. The claim was processed within the agreed timeframes. Follow-up · Making the claim was very straightforward. The form was easy to follow. I did have a couple of questions and I rang and got good direction. The only thing is that you are limited to 10mg of attachments if you submit online. It does not take too long to use up the 10mg limit, so I ended up mailing my claim in. No real issue just something worth noting

I’d also like to mention a previous experience from a year earlier in Vietnam during Typhoon Yagi, when our cruise and flights were cancelled. I called Cover-More upset and unsure of what to do or where to go. Even after our call was cut off, the consultant was able to locate me via the Cover-More app and call me back. No claim was ultimately needed, but the help, reassurance and genuine empathy I received were second to none. With her guidance, I was able to cancel and rebook flights directly with the airline.

up and informed cover more that I couldn’t be bothered pursuing the claim, I got an email telling me my claim was now approved. My claim was a visit to a medical centre doctor so I would hate to think what this company would require if you actually had a serious medical incident! After all this I was rebated $23 from a $300 bill! Yes it’s fair to say $250 was for excess but after all the time spent trying to prove my claim and chasing information I felt this excess could have been waived given the medical report was then no longer required when I gave up pursuing it! Wife was hit by a bicycle in Amsterdam and got a broken knee-cap. Hospital said surgery may be necessary but we could travel back home if needed for that (surgery in Amsterdam would have been fine, but recovery time before we could travel would have been a showstopper for us). couldn't fly economy as she would not be able to keep the leg straight so the insurance upgraded her to business class. We also had to cancel some pre-booked trips at short notice (bike barge trips, which is why we were in Amsterdam) and the refunds were minimal (10%) from the tour companies for such late notice. Insurance covered the full amount minus what we were refunded by the companies, plus medical expenses. We did not claim things that were not associated with cancellations or specific to our return expenses (eg train trip to England, hire car in England). Just be sensible and only claim what is realistic. We had this insurance through our credit card as we booked everything for the trip through the card. People tend to ask if we expect lesser coverage using a "free" insurance cover, but we received excellent service, both in Amsterdam when we first contacted the insurers and at home when making our claim. A big plus in the modern world is the X-rays from the hospital were sent to our phone which allowed us to forward them to the insurers who could make a quick decision on the medical basis of our claim.

information, and my case manager was consistently unavailable. I was even given misleading information about supposed medical reviews that never occurred. Requests to speak with a supervisor were refused. I was then incorrectly told that my claim fell below the excess, despite the correct calculations. Only after filing another complaint was the error acknowledged and payment approved—without any apology or explanation for the mishandling of my initial complaint. Overall, this was a highly frustrating and poorly managed experience.

Cover More multiple times and was either not responded to or told they would send a copy of my policy to me so I could make a claim - which they failed to do a countless amount of times.
I reached out to a friend of mine who works in the insurance field who advised me he would take over and contact Cover More regarding this issue.
He took matters into his own hands, he contacted them and explained what the issue was, he managed to retrieve the policy. He provided them with all the necessary paperwork and details to which he was ghosted and till now has received no correspondence even after chasing it up multiple times.
Cover More is extremely unprofessional. I used to insure with them only, when travelling, many times, paying top dollar to not be given the service I have paid for. They have scammed me and I will never purchase a policy with them again. I have since started insuring with allianz who provides better service for a better price.
Cover More needs to own up for this terrible service they have provided, or should I say FAILED to provide.
The least they could do is respond to queries. If I could rate them -5 stars, I would not hesitate.

obvious message is "if you travel, you must have insurance". We have been using Cover-More since the 1980s and this is our second claim. Both were met with no issues.
The travel insurance policy was good value. We have used Covermore for our travel insurance for many years and always received pleasant and efficient service and it is easy to apply for online. We had to cancel our Xmas Trip due to an unforeseen medical journey (oldies) and Covermore refunded our policy charge in full, even though it was outside the 21 day cooling-off period.
