Unit died 11 months out of warranty – Cooling was great. But they just don't last. Unit caused a short after 11 months out of warranty. The 3.5kw unit cost almost the same amount to just to repair so now I'm being forced to install a new unit. This is the second Daikin that has died on me only just months after warranty. ACs should have 10 years warranty, fact that Daikin now offer only 5 years shows that their products are designed to fail.

What's shocking is a Daikin approved dealer has told me that Daikin is the worst product they sell, too many breakdowns and advised me against getting another Daikin.

Too noise in SL mode, sound level is 40dBA – We installed this split system in 2017. In the day one we had found the sound level in SL mode is louder than what Daikin mentioned in website. What they said SL mode - night quiet mode is what they are proud of. They have a special technology on the fan and it will shows the most quiet than other brand. Unfortunately, no..... To be honest, in my past experience in my parents home. The statement is truth, but for what we installed in our home isn't true.

Now, the noise level of SL mode is coming to 40 dBA. When the temperature reached, the sound will stop. When the temperature lower than seting, the sound will start again.

I measured the sound level. Without the sound, the background level is 30dBA With the sound, I could get the 40dBA.

I can't accept it. I had written to Daikin again, and hope they could try to fix the problem.

As for my installer..... he has disappeared since he got all the payment.

Noisy Rattle - supposed to be quiet - NOT! – Was sold this unit on the promise of it being the quietest on the market but its been nothing but a hassle since installed - with both the installer admitting that it is faulty and replacing parts, and now Daikin Australia attending twice and still working to fix it. I've been very underwhelmed by this unit. Overall, a poor experience.
