Absolutely worth every cent – Bought the machine nearly 13 years ago, and we have never once had an issue with the machine. The coffee is great for a machine of its age, and is extremely consistent in quality. The temperature of the coffee is always a bit too hot, but that doesn't matter as the coffee you get out of this machine is worth it's time. Show details · 1
Very unreliable and a waste of money – Machine was great for the first 6 months but went downhill quickly after that. Coffee was never the same, you pretty much have to brew it manually to get a half decent taste. Consistently breaking down, we have replaced several thermal switches, milk jug, water pump, boiler and repaired the display cable, the machine is only used 3/4 times a week… Read more
too! Currently collecting dust as the coffee grinder doesn't turn off, waste of good money and won't buy Delonghi again!
8 years and still going strong – 8 years and still going strong 13,000+ cups of coffee Never been serviced EVER Good coffee - can adjust grimd, water etc to your liking. Wish other appliances lasted this long. Great buy. Enough said Show details · 1

Long term use of DeLonghi ESAM 6600 – 2008 we bought our DeLonghi 6600. It is now 2019. Have used it every day in eleven years. Once in for worn grinder repair. Short microwave burst to increase temp. Overall highly satisfied. Show details
Even my husband can use it! – Love that it has an auto-on timer.. my husband is up at 4.30am so its on timer to turn on and be heated ready to be used by the time he wakes up. Fully automatic machine.. just press a button and walk away and it makes you a coffee. Easy to clean, maintain and descale. I wish you were able to manually froth milk yourself, that is the only downfall. Show details
Great machine!! – I've had this machine for nearly 4 years, first it was at my house with 3 coffee drinkers making at least 10 coffees per day for 2 years! Then we purchase a newer model for home and I took this machine to work. This machine still makes at least 10 coffees per day and still works as good as the first day I got it!!! Please creep in mind that you must always de scale it and you will be set for many years!! Show details

Will never by any Delinghi product again – Within months the coffee started tasting strange even though we cleaned it religiously. After about a year the screen text broke and you couldn't see the lines of text anymore. Got repaired under warranty but the same problem returned and because by then it was out of warranty they wouldn't fix it and the store only gave a month warranty on their… Read more
repairs! Dodgy. Machine cost me $2000, the most expensive appliance in my house even more than my fridge and yet all my other appliances are working perfectly for years. I also bought a kettle and toaster from Delonghi and they are painfully slow. Never again.
An Expensive Gimmick – Previous to this product, I owned a $100 Sunbeam cappuccino machine, which made hotter, stronger and overall better coffee. There are many problems with this coffee machine; the coffees are always luke warm, I can't get the coffee to taste strong, it costs $200 every year to service and it feels as though the machine is asking me all the time to… Read more
descale it (cheap way is to use half vinegar and half water).
For the ridiculous asking price, I expected something bulletproof and trouble free.
I think coffee machines are kind of like BBQs. By this, I mean that you can buy a $3,000 BBQ, but the steak will taste as good on a $50 BBQ. Well, honestly, The cheaper cappuccino machines (that aren't automatic) make better coffee in my opinion. I would seriously steer clear of any automatic cappuccino machine.
Prima Donna is the perfect name for this machine – We bought this machine to replace a manual machine as we were short on time with a newborn. Great from six months then the time spend standing in front of milk jug trying to get it to work was about the same as making a better coffee in a good quality manual machine. After this things went down hill as everytime it was serviced it cost another… Read more
$500 for some big issue milk lines had it (even though it was cleaned after every use) and fried circuit boards. Three milk jugs as well all of this in three years. Machine also spend 6 months of its life being repaired. It still does coffee but it was going to cost another $700 to fix. Going to replace with manual machine that has servicing with company that has better customer service. Would expect more time out of machine for the $$$$$$$. Also was supposed to have $250 cash back as it had lable on it and salesperson informed us of this only to discover it was not for that model when we got the machine home.

Better than cafe – Purchased a Primadonna S Deluxe to replace a Nespresso machine. It was on sale at my local Harvey Norman store. This machine is simple to use and makes excellent coffee, whether it is long black, cappuccino, latte or whatever. Cleaning is also a simple matter. Would not got back to a Nespresso machine and have not wasted money in a cafe since the… Read more
purchase. Would highly recommend this coffee maker to anyone that likes fresh ground coffee made as simply as possible.
Loving my coffee machine – I must've gotten lucky with mine! I have the ESAM6600 model. I've had mine for over 8yrs now, never had a single complaint. It's true that the coffee isn't the hottest, but... If you learn to use the cleaning method on the jug first, warming up the spout (for at least 8 pumps) you'll find your coffee is hot. I also find the longer it's on, the… Read more
better it works.
I only have one complaint about it atm, and that's that my blue light display has gone. It's still making beautiful coffee, it's just that I can't see my settings, lol... Lucky I know my machine back to front. I'll have to get this checked. First time in over 8yrs I've had to bring it somewhere!
Yummy yummy yummy coffee... I love it!
Great machine – Purchased thi machine 2 months ago. Very happy with it. Took a little while to get the coffee strength settings correct to keep my liking, but once set, perfect every time. Milk frother is the only downfall. Can not get a creamy frothed latte have improved I by my trailing differ hrands of skimmed milk but still not over 100%. Using the machine daily. Very happy.
Blocked Milk Canister Nozzle – As a user (coffee maker) problem, the user will need to thoroughly and weekly clean the milk canister nozzle. Ours has become blocked with congealed milk within the elbow of the nozzle. The blocked nozzle if difficult to clean given access to the inside of the elbow as it is very restricted. We now use CLR: 1 part CLR and 10 parts water and soak the elbow enabling the congealed milk to break down and exit the nozzle. Show 2 replies

Easy to use, its the best – My hubby spent a heap of money on this machine without my knowledge. Wow best thing he ever did. Had the machine now for 6/7/8 years and it hasn't missed a beat. Daily use - Great, Fundraiser for Biggest morning tea - Great, Christmas and Easter gatherings - Great. Love it, love it. Thanks hubby!! Mewah
Good value – A sound product which produces the required result, without any issues. Good grind, and milk temp is set by conducting a quick clean before use. Wish the water container was larger and if you use filtered water, the constant descale is a bit annoying when its not required. Overall a sound unit, if you pay the right money.. Ps..paid 995 on special at Harvey Norman
second one in 8 years – I had the magnifica 7 years ago, loved it and used it daily for 5 years. Wanted to upgrade and got this one. Love it also. Never had any trouble with it and 2 years later it is still going strong. Maybe the negatives got a bad batch. I have never had to get mine looked at for any reason. Regular cleaning keeps the milk at a good temp. I will… Read more
admit it wouldn't hurt for the coffee and milk to be a bit hotter. looks great. Yummy coffee. Easy to use could be a bit hotter. A bit on the pricey side, but worth it
The most unreliable machines machines in the world – My wife bought me a DeLonghi magnifica for Christmas 3 years back, just as the warranty had ended the machine failed had it repaired with new boiler unit cost me close to £200 lasted 1 month then failed again different fault, thinking I had been unlucky with this one I decided to replace it with the more expensive model DéLonghi ESAM6600, big… Read more
mistake this one has now failed after 13 months, To me the name De Longhi along with Whirlpool represents very poor quality, I will now avoid any product made in Italy.
Often people refer to a machine as being the Rolls Royce of there type, DeLonghi & Whirlpool are the Lancia Beta of there type!!!!
Very poor quality & reliability

Not worth the money – Purchased one of these have had nothing but problems with it my husband bought a pod machine from woollies for when he is away it works 100 times better than this machine which cost over $2000.00 compared to the pod machine for $100.0 defiantly wouldn't buy another or recommend them
Don't waste good coffee beans in this poor excuse for a coffee maker – Great for 3 weeks, then the milk just started to get colder. In 18 months it has been back for repairs 4 times, and be prepared to wait up to 4 weeks for the repairs to be carried out. Main problem is milk temperature, followed by printed circuit board failed, then boiler failed, again another boiler. Absolute rubbish, Delonghi has successfully… Read more
degraded their good name with a piece of rubbish like this, and their after sales is as bad, no care for the customer. They got you cash, now they do not want to assist or help Looks good Spends more time in the repair shop, wont make good coffee
Expensive Italian Rubbish – Make a coffee take it to the repair shop wait a month, get it back, make a few more coffees (luke warm) take it back to the repair shop wait a month...Just forget about it. go to a shopping centre and get a profession to make you a decent coffee. Hmm... still thinking... looks good I suppose. Just don't use it. expencive breakdowns
Disgusted with Delonghi – Our machine was in the repair shop 5 times and was gone a month and more at a time. This review has not got enough space to write about all the problems we had. Disgraceful product – I would never recommend the Delonghi to anyone. After the first machine Broke down 3 times was given a replacement new machine.Took around 8 weeks to try and repair the first machine. Now 5mths later same thing frothing not pumping.Absolute joke after paying $1500. Sales representative no help what soever didnt want to know about it.Got your money so who cares attitude!!
I've got two machines, work and home – I don't understand the critics on this machine. We bought a machine for work and have had it a few years now. Everyone comments how good a machine it is. Guest often comment it puts their machine to shame. We were so impressed we bought one for home. Recond machines from Grays. Yes we've had one issue, an ‘O’ ring split on the milk side; took… Read more
machine into a local service centre and had all the seals replaced and machine serviced for $100. Warning, you must keep the machine clean, the frothier will not work properly if you don't clean it out often. We always push the clean button after every batch use. Spend the time setting it up properly. Simple and perfect coffees. Must keep it clean.
Repair Shop Owns Our Machine – We have had our De Funked Coffee Machine now for 2 yrs and in that 2yrs it has been back 4 times for repairs twice for led screen dying, once for coffee grinder coming loose, 4th time just stopped was totally dead. get a product of reasonable quality.
(It is not that the machine has made a lot of coffee as we have maybe max 4 a day.)
De Funked Coffee Service would not do anything about our machine because we took out extended warranty so we are stuck with a useless machine that keeps breaking down when we take it in it is in the repairs for up to 10 weeks (They are very Busy I am Told).
The coffee that it makes is luke warm on highest setting, doesn't make the froth properly, inconstant strength in cups of coffee made (maybe me not doing something right), in total not a good machine Does look impressive when we have it. Warm coffee, breaksdown, expensive.
DeLowsy and Primma Dodgy! – Considering this machine has a retail price of RRP $3000+, one would expect they are buying very high quality machine. Your not… 1. Got the machine home and parts missing….we waited 3 weeks from DeLowsy for replacements part to be sent. 2. Does not make HOT coffee even after adjusting temp to ‘HIGH”. 3. following areas, Taste either too milky or too much coffee even after resetting machine. Volume of output tends to vary after every cup of coffee.
4. Machine breakdown every 6-8 months, common issue is the milk jug. This is the cause of DeLowsy Milk frothing issues.
5. DeLowsy sent me 3 sets of O rings to try fixing the milk frothing issue, though you cannot change these unless you have the machine pulled apart.
6. DeLowsy rep at the stores suggested for us to oil the coupler… does not mention this in the manual.
7. DeLowsy just introduced a Milk Cleaner, many years after the machine was made. Now they say it’s a requirement for the up keep of the machine. Why was this not though of when I bought the machine DeLowsy??
8. There are parts on this machine, that one cannot fix unless they buy a Baby Bottle cleaner, for the price you pay you expect this to be included.
9. Machine was going in repair for its 4th time for frothing issues. Servicephere (Melb), seems to have thought that the error was due to using the machine incorrectly.
Begged and argued to place a new Milk jug on machine and guess what problem solved?
10. Still waiting for DeLowsy to call me back regarding machine. No call back yet.
If you have just purchased this machine, do your self a favour and return it, like I did even after 2 years.
You have just paid very good money for a machine that does not live up to the quality and standard DeLowsy makes this machine out to be.
Both Harvey Norman and Clive Peters even advised the common issues with ESAM 6600 are Milk Frothing and Temperature of coffee….do I need to say anymore?? The machine does look good... that's about it EVERYTHING!
I wish this post had been included with the operating manual and DVD when I purchased my DeLonghi… Read more
Bad – Don't buy unless you want a luke warm coffee from a machine that will need continual servicing and technical support. It is automatic so you don't have to do any work. The milk does not heat up enough. The machine breaks down all the time as it is fully automated. We have since down graded to a manual Sunbeam and we could not be happier.
If you really enjoy a good coffee, don't buy an automatic machine – After spending so much money on this machine, we simply don't use it any more. Would rather go to our local coffee shop every day and buy a coffee that we really enjoy. There is just no comparison. The difference is so great that I just can't drink the coffee from our machine any more as it is so awful in comparison. We went out and bought… Read more
premium coffee beans from the supplier, thinking that the problem with the taste was with the beans but it made absolutely no difference. The same brand of coffee at the coffee shop was far superior in taste to our Delonghi brew.
We previously had a little Krups machine and, once we perfected the technique, it made a really good coffee. We thought we'd "upgrade" to an automatic machine as we were becoming busier (or lazy) and had started buying takeaway coffee again. Thought that this machine would deliver a coffee of similar taste but it doesn't.
It broke down once during the warranty period so we had the inconvenience of having to cart it across town to be repaired and then back again to pick it up a week or two later. We complained about the temperature of the milk at the same time as it was being repaired but it was no different when it came back. There are times when the temperature is good but not very often. When I use it I always put my coffee in the microwave afterwards just to get it to the correct coffee drinking temperature.
The milk frothing jug is a real pain; it is often hard to click into the right spot and could be easily broken (especially when you get angry with it). If it's not clicked in properly the milk frother won't work. The problem with the jug is often caused by the plastic sucking tube inside the milk jug not being pushed into the lid properly, which makes the lid lift up a fraction and then it won't click into the coffee machine.
I am thinking of going back to a small (much cheaper) manual machine, similar to what we had before. If you want good coffee, you need to do it manually. My husband is determined to buy one of those expensive big things but I don't want it parked on my kitchen bench. I read on the website of one of the local barista schools that the small ones can make very good coffee (as ours did) if you know how to use them properly. I would even invest in a barista session just to learn how to do it properly. I think worth the investment and still way cheaper than the Delonghi. Easy to use, froths the milk well for hot chocolates for kids (as not too hot). Poor tasting coffee, has broken down, milk not hot enough, difficult to give the jug a really good clean, noisy.
Terrible – I did some research before buying and decided to go to my local harvey norman store to buy a saeco automatic machine. i was speaking to the delonghi rep who was at the shop and was really helpful and took me through a demonstration of the primadonna model. It looked like it had everything i needed and was offered a good price and it came with… Read more
stacks of bonuses, so i bought it. I was so excited when i took the machine home and started setting it up. I had spent 3 hours programming the machine and reading the manual to set the machine to my liking, the only problem was, i couldn't get a good cup of coffee out of it. it was getting late so i though i would try the next morning. but my frustration was componded when it stopped making any milk. after contacting the company they sent me out a new jug after 5 days without coffee. the machine worked fine for a couple of weeks after that despite my coffee being only lukewarm and the froth on my cappuccino was rediculous.... it looked like it had been made out of a vending machine. then the jug started playing up again and my coffee was being made without any milk. i went back to the store and asked for a refund, but they said i need to contact delonghi.... i have had the machine for 4 weeks now and am still waiting to hear from the service people about repairing the machine. i regret not buying the machine i first intended to purchase as this experience has been very stressful. my old gaggia classic makes better coffee than this machine. automatic, one touch operation, stainless steel it keeps breaking down, the froth is very poor, it keeps breaking down, the coffee isn't hot (it's lukewarm and needs to be drunk straight after making it), it keeps breaking down, espresso shots are extremely poor (I use premium coffee beans), it keeps breaking down, i can't fit my favourite mug underneath, it keeps breaking down......

is the best it gets at home, and will make you feel disappointed in coffee that you drank in coffee shops! Highly recommended to everyone, one stylish, high quality machine. Awesome coffee, as good as any coffee house I've been too. Top build quality, super easy to use and maintain. Expensive, but guess most things that are good cost big $$$$
Not worth the money – After being electrocuted by the stupid thing (twice) then watching it throw perfectly good beans away because of a design fault, I'd go for something else next time. One button press (when it works) electrocuted me, bad warranty service, luke warm coffee, badly designed - throws perfectly good beans away
Excellent – awesome bargain and a stunning addition to our kitchen, for the price i would have liked to have seen a couple of cups included, will review again in a couple of months. delonghi any cups please ??? had the machine only 6 hours so will report back at a later date but as for now got a great deal $2137 inc 5 yr extended warranty, its making great… Read more · 3
coffee from 1st cup, trust me when i say that the temp was a big issue and the temp when set to high is HOT, also very easy to set up. looking forward to many a coffee. non as yet, except a little loud.
Good – Good - It takes a little while to get the hang of making great coffee but it is worth the wait. I have had no problems with the unit though I have read some daming reviews. I would recommend this product though a little on the pricey side. I like the style, the instruction book is easy to understand and the sales person knew the product well,… Read more
hence I bought this one. Can be slow to start up. I have coffee strength set high but could be a little stronger.
Excellent – Have only had it a week and have no complaints. If you find coffee not quite hot enough attach the water tap and top up with the hot water, not alot is needed just a short burst makes all the difference. So simple to use and makes a fantastic coffee. Son has been using it non stop for hot chocolate, froths milk brilliantly, very professional. Absolutely nothing to dislike about it
Terrible – After horrible experience with Saeco Talea Touch ( milk island was leaking very first day, constant error messages, pre ground coffee did not work, machine was asking to refill water tank when it was full and list goes on) This all happened within 5 days. So I want back to store and returned it. Anyway milk froth was so creamy and coffee was… Read more

Before I bought another Coffee machine I made good research on the internet, read all the reviews and after very careful consideration I decided to buy DELONGHI ESAM 6600.
Great design, fantastic reviews on the internet from the customers. I checked few stores and got really good deal in Harvey Norman. It was 3 days ago when I got me new Coffee machine. When I got home and opened the box I find out that this box was already opened, plastic bag for manuals was broken, finger prints all over the machine. So I took it back and with no problem I got new machine.
It worked great for first few hours. After I made few different coffees machine started to make horrible sounds. Like space ship just about to take off. Next morning it was even worth. So I took it back again, they checked it it was definitely very loud and machine died in the store. Machine went very quiet and totally stopped making coffees. It happened in front of the sales person in store. Manager in the store was very helpful and apologetic (it was not their fault), they gave me new machine again.
This one is working OK, but coffee is not hot enough, there are 3 temperature settings " LOW, MEDIUM or HOT" but doesn't matter what settings I use temperature is always this some, you can drink coffee straight away. Also milk froth is very airy and milk is cold. Anyway coffee taste great and convenience of one touch cappuccino or late is great as well. I would not accept for expensive coffee maker to have such problems. I am not sure if I will keep it or take it back as I am not happy with milk froth and temperature of coffee. Also cappuccino or late is cold. Just horrible. But I am not sure what to get once I return this one.
"You get what you pay for" well not in my case.
I also made phone call to Delonghi before I made this purchase they told me that Delonghi ESAM 6600 is one of the best coffee machine on the market I can get and they highly recommended it to me. Person on the phone was very nice helpful and friendly. Well it was totally different story when I rang up again after I made my purchase and I complained about coffee temperature milk temperature. When I mentioned that doesn't matter what temperature I set for the coffee always get this some temperature. I been accused of not using machine properly and I am not setting temperature properly . After I told him how I set it up (it is so simple) I been told that coffee not suppose to be more than 70C. He just could not get it that doesn't matter if I set low medium or high temperature coffee is exactly this some temperature. (Simply I can drink coffee straight away when is done and after 2 minutes goes totally cold. )
Well, I was so frustrated that I can't get any help on the phone, I asked to speak to Manager, well very unpleasant unhelpful as well. I do not want to go in to details of conversation with manager as I will just get more frustrated.
I would NOT RECOMMEND this machine at all. Great looking machine very expensive and I expected great coffee for that money. All what I get coffee not hot enough, cappuccino COLD and late COLD as well. I mean it and I am not to fussy about coffee temperature. Milk forth very POOR quality. Great looking machine, coffee taste nice especialy espresso but not hot enough Cofee not hot enough, so cappuccino or late is cold, froth very poor quality and cold I mean it COLD
