Changed over to Dodo NBN due to discount offered but since the changeover internet kept dropping out or freezing. Rang support and checked connection but no change. Changed back to my previous provider and noticed the difference straight away.

I've had no trouble with the internet, consistent supply. We went from an NBN100 account to the NBN500 account after the NBN upgrade which brought FTTP free of charge. The connection is completely reliable! We have experienced no drop-outs, and have had absolutely no reason even to ring Dodo about anything. -The NBN upgrade has been the gift that keeps on giving, really. speed, our TCL brand tee-vee (which was brand-new just last year) consistently confirms via its internet speed-check that we can reliably stream 8K, which is far greater than our expectations or requirements, really, for the moment, at least;-cf. Attached pic.

N.B. The NBN upgrade did not require a change of modem, so we're still working very well with the original (minimal) modem/router which Dodo supplied as standard. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

There's no doubt about it, that DODO has been and is still looking after us, and will continue to do so.

Switched to Dodo NBN in 2023 after using years of primary telco providers like Telstra and Optus, speed has also been delivered in excess advertised rates (e.g., actual speeds typically even better than advertised. FYI - this is based on a HFC connection). Their customer service team is excellent and very knowledgeable in areas like modem… Read more

I have been with Dodo for a number of years now. Firstly started with 50 mbps when my kids were younger band am now on 500mbps astheboys are older and streaming and gaming as teens do. Even so I am able to do everything I need and the service is really stable. If I have ever had an issue it is handled quickly and with a happy service agent. Have recommended to friends because of my experience.

I was a bit sceptical about leaving one of the big telcos, but I'm so glad I made the switch to Dodo. The price was fantastic, the process of porting everything over was completely seamless, and the communication throughout was excellent. Looking back, I realise I was just paying a premium with my old provider for no real benefit. Dodo made the whole experience easy, and I'm saving money too. Love your work, Dodo!

disconnected within a few minutes and will receive an email as soon as the service is changed over. I could find no facility to nominate a changeover date on the application, which I have had with all the other providers. I promptly phoned Dodo and waited nearly ¾ hour for the phone to be answered and was then told I need to speak to accounts. They switched me to Tech support and after another ½ hr I finally spoke to accounts stating I needed to advise my current provider of a cutoff date and coordinate the switch over. I was then told verbally my internet had already been switched and they could do nothing about it, they were very unsympathetic. I then waited for and did not receive a promised email advising me that the connection was completed and also the instructions on reconfiguring the modem. Consequently no internet for ½ day until I finished up phoning Tech support which resulted in them having to reconfigure the modem so that I could use the internet. Beware if you need to advise your current supplier who requires notice before a switch Dodo has no facility to do this. It is done as soon as the application is completed. There is long wait on the phone to get answers meanwhile you have been switched. Your previous provider generally won’t give you a prorate credit for any overlap time as payments are month to month. Not happy Dodo.

Just over two weeks ago on writing these comments regarding issues when signing up with Dodo I still have not heard back from them although mediation was requested. This company is quick at signing you up and getting your money but won’t respond to issues bought up.

Follow-up  · A few questions have come back resulting from my review on Dodo. No issue with speed or dropouts to date, performance as advertised. Their monthly billing portal is basic but have no problems since signup. However, they are very sluggish in replying to my initial complaint and eventually said they would pass the information on. Switchover was easy. Modem arrived early. Literally plug & play. Reconnecting other devices ,especially security cameras was a walm in the park unlike previous experiences. This is 2nd day of service. Hoping this is standard. Show details

Follow-up  · Too many dropouts, lots more buffering experienced in last 2 weeks. To be fair, could be the weather, could be nbn. Checked with neighbors on optus n telstra ; they did not experience buffering. & there's definitely been less usage as the heavy users have moved out.

I switched from NBN 100 with another provider to Dodo NBN500 as I was interested in higher speed for streaming and it was about the same cost as my old NBN100, very easy changeover to Dodo. The speed was reasonably good anything up to 420 Mbps at non peak times and around 200 - 280 Mbps during peak, I also bundled Electricity and Gas for further… Read more

savings, when I switched all of my services were available to browse at anytime on their app, all in one place, I was happy with the services connected.

But after an upgrade on their app many months ago, the Electricity and Gas services dropped off the app and are no longer available to view, meaning not all services in one location, very disappointing as now I have to find emails that relate to Electricity and Gas to view usage, this is very inconvenient.

Dodo advised me via email about a downgrade to save money as my usage was not high for the NBN500 plan and advised me to downgrade to NBN100 to save some money per month, I think this is very professional from Dodo during these tough financial times, well done Dodo.

I jumped on the NBN500 bandwagon because I was curious about high speed and with the same price as NBN100, it's the perfect time to try. The changeover process from Superloop to Dodo was okay with minimal fuss. The speed was pretty good and hardly any outages, but I live in the metro area and all my previous NBN providers had no issues with… Read more

speed and unexpected outages either. So I think I'm also just lucky with the infrastructure. In my dealings with Dodo, I used their phone, live chat and email feedback services, they all replied courteously and promptly. Generally Dodo is a pretty good NBN provider.

There are just two small pieces of feedback I have about Dodo: 1. Lack of email invoices. Dodo relies extremely heavily on their mobile app. All monthly invoices only appear on their app with no option for an emailed copy. So I have to separately remember to download the invoice for my own financial records. This differs from all my previous NBN providers such as Aussie broadband, Superloop etc, which offered emailed invoice for easy reference. I actually emailed this feedback to Dodo, as I don't think it's very hard to set up sending bulk email in this day and age, but despite the nicely worded reply, Dodo has no plans for such a change.

2. Inconvenience of the Dodo app. As they rely so heavily on their app, it's extremely annoying that you have to sign in each time on iPhone, unlike some other NBN provider apps which scans your Face ID and remembers your login. I could take a sign-in every few months for security reasons, but every time?! I mean, even my driver's license app opens with just Face ID, what's so top secret about my NBN account? It's really a hassle, maybe that's their set-and-forget strategy! In fact, I did forget about change plans/providers once their 6-month discount period is up, so they were very successful if that's their plan. Also, their invoices don't record your AVC ID unlike my previous providers. So to change to a new provider, it's another sign-in onto their app just to find it.

On the upside, as everything is on their app, it's actually super easy to cancel their service on the app. I noticed some reviews mentioned long wait on the phone, but the cancel process is a few clicks on the app. Please note, they do require a minimum of 30 days' notice for cancellation.

Another great service Dodo provided was that they actually sent me an email recommending I downgrade my plan. Since I only wanted to try NBN500 and hadn't upgraded my router to Wifi 7, I never reached NBN500's speed with my older hardware and my VPN (which adds another speed bump). I managed to average download speed of about 260Mbps with an upload speed of 40Mbps on Wifi 5 (802.11ac) router. During peak hours, my download speed have dropped to about 220Mbps at times. Previously I was on NBN50, and honestly, I really didn't feel that much of a difference in my everyday web browsing experience. The only time I celebrated the faster speed was when I was downloading large files, the green bar filled up satisfyingly fast. The fact that Dodo picked up on that and notified me about potential savings was very loyalty-inspiring.

I chose dodo for the price, and paid the price with a highly unreliable service. I’m on HFC, previously with Aussie Broadband (excellent, never dropped out, but expensive), then Buddy (good, one dropout per week maybe, a little less expensive), to dodo (terrible but still not cheap!), with multiple long dropouts every day. Very poor uptime,… Read more

terrible latency, and when the discount period ends I’m off to some other provider. Sorry dodo, you should stay extinct.

Update after “troubleshooting”: I have followed the suggested steps from Dodo, which did not work as I suspected they wouldn’t. I discussed with another rep who said we need the NBN to fix the service. I asked why my service prior to dodo was perfect, but as soon as I went to dodo, why did the service drop out? Was it that my internal wiring was damaged or broke on the day that I connected to dodo. Here’s the killer: the rep said “yes, that’s likely what happened”. Hmm, maybe I should buy a lottery ticket :)

Not happy with dodo pushing problem this onto the NBN and the taxpayer purse.

I had initial trouble with internet speeds, caused by an aging modem that was pre NBN FTTP. The service call taker was not very helpful and hard to understand, I nearly cancelled my service. despite all contact already registered to another email. Completely Frustrated.

To fix my issue: I bought my own modem, which I had issues initializing. I rang DODO for help, the DODO service guy in this case was easier to understand, and knew his stuff, got me sorted out with my new future proof TP-Link modem, very polite and helpful. So, I am still with DODO for now, thanks to his support.

Better consistency with their contact people, would improve their business immensely, I think.
