Jack was always in contact providing updates, following up with the land developer for me and putting my mind at ease. Pre Start with Teegan was made easy, Teegan offered advice but not pushy about upgrades and recommendations and provided pros and cons to different options. Alicia is my Client Liaison and only having dealt with Alicia for a short period she has been open and honest about any delays and been there to answer ALL my questions. Currently only in the early stages of construction but everyone I have had dealings with at DreamStart has been friendly, approachable and always willing to answer my hundreds and hundreds of questions. felt as though our best interest was always at heart and they worked tirelessly to make our dream come true. We came to the team with a difficult block to build on, however they endeavoured to make it work and ended up custom designing us a beautiful home that fit the block perfectly. Every email or text that I sent was attended to promptly and we were given consistent updates on the progress each week. Not only was the communication, experience and end product amazing, we could not fault the price. The price for our build was the best by a LONG shot, yet had more inclusion and suited us far better then anything else going. Even though we chose the standard range for alot of our colour/material choices, the house looks incredible and definitely not 'standard' or 'budget' by any means. The quality of the build is faultless, with many tradies, inspectors and visitors commenting on how well the build was done.

To say we're stoked is an understatment, we have already referred another couple to build with DreamStart and we cannot wait to crack onto the second build!

Terrible experience with Dreamstart almost from the get-go and would absolutely not recommend to anyone if they want a seamless build experience, especially as first time buyers. being hit with a $28,500 build increase that we needed to pay out of our pocket due to the signed contract passing a certain number of days and our developers not having the land titled still (titled a week later). Totally out of our control and Dreamstart couldn’t even provide a breakdown of where this money was being spent/what items had greatly increased this much. Slab went down September. Week after week out client liaison would tell us bricklayers starting next week, in two weeks, and by the time that came around the goal posts moved all over again and it changed multiple times without explanation until I finally challenged in December as to what the hell was happening. To add, we also provided them with a bricklayers details happy to help us in Early November but due to their unexplained three week wait to contact him, we lost out on him too as he accepted another job. Week before Christmas a singular bricklayer started. A month later he had only managed 2.5 walls and after two bricklayer friends inspected these walls he flagged MULTIPLE non compliant aspects to this shoddy work. No dampcourse was used as required, larger than complaint gaps in brick work, frames were not being clipped in and would move freely within the brick, door frames not mudded in properly. Overall extremely poor workmanship. Met an arrogant area manager onsite who wanted to dismiss all our points and we left site with no clear understanding of when the bricklayer would even return to finish as he seemed to come here and there as he pleased, which the area manager was unphased by. Thankfully the construction manager was later looped in, instructing these walls to be knocked down and rebuilt by a new bricklayer due to their poor construction. This again took weeks for them to source a new singular bricklayer so overall slab to completion of brickwork alone took six months (Sept to March ‘25). Ironically Adam tried to use the excuse it was hard to find a team to work in Eglinton due to the distance and commute times for tradesmen however SSB have had no trouble building multiple display homes up this way recently?? In this time we went from being one of the first slabs down to watching all houses around us fly up - very frustrating. How wrong were we to hope this was the last of the errors. The brickie then didn’t complete a front pillar properly which left a gaping hole at the front once roof was installed. Hole left for over a month until we queried it. Construction manager admitted to us the error stating it should be bricked. To add, every issue through the build was flagged by myself and husband. Although site supervisor [Name Removed] was personally a nice bloke, his professionalism with having things seen to, corrected and being generally in the know with the quality of workmanship occurring onsite was non existent. I write this after multiple items raised in our PCI are still left outstanding that he told me three weeks ago would be done “this week or next” putting it down to trade on annual leave which was an excuse we’d heard a few times throughout. If [Name Removed] had been more present throughout I’m sure things should have been corrected prior to keyhandover like different coloured sealants being used on the same worktop (white and cream), a large chunk of the front render missing, very poor siliconing of the shower and rust stains in our sink (all raised in PCI report - but never actioned/corrected). Even a window frame in a bedroom wasn’t glued/stuck down properly and on our PCI walk through could literally be pulled out of the brickwork. Wrong colour downpipe as per our addenda wasn’t picked up for months again until we raised it, this has since been replaced with a dented downpipe - again raised and not corrected. Quality of workmanship is very poor overall. In addition we found communication poor with CL, we had several changes with never any real introduction all of a sudden we’d just be emailing someone new. We would be told “X, Y, Z” is happening onsite this week when in some cases work mentioned we had already seen as completed when visiting over weekends or it just wouldn’t be done til following weeks. Therefore we found communication always was a guessing game and between site and office very poor. Could probably go on for longer but in short we’re glad to finally have keys after a 13 month build ordeal with constant delays, errors and disappointment. Having worked within the building industry myself, it certainly seemed lacking in comparison to the service I know is provided elsewhere! Definitely go with a more reputable builder if you’re reading this trying to decide on builders, unless you want to feel like you’re working for them for free while waiting for a house to be built.
