We purchased a new build with eagle homes and moved in 6 months ago. Steve was the builder and made sure we ended up with a quality product, for the price we paid, that I felt was one of the best deals in the suburb. We did have some small issues like silicone work and a broken front door handle. However, they sent a chippie named Sam who came… Read more

out and rectified all the issues we had within the 90 day rectification period, he was great to talk to and very friendly and accommodating.

The only thing that would have made it boost up to 5 stars would be if some of the finishing work was a little higher quality, a little more care on silicone work and just small things like filling small gaps ect would have made it abit more tidy on completion. However these weren't major issues and we will be able to fix them to how we want later.

I would recomend eagle homes overall and I do feel they have been fair and put in the effort to give us a premium home.

Poor construction quality, poor repair work, and major faults from construction leading to major water ingress and damage to property and rooms being unable to be used and lived in. Multiple phone calls and emails have been ignored by them. I don't not recommend using this company for anything. As they have repeatedly ignored us, we have opted to… Read more

get other builders in to correct the issues and will look at taking all of the building reports to any and all construction ombudsman's, Fair Trade aswell as media outlets. Last time we left a review, we were harassment and threatened, including legal action from them regarding our review (which was documented and 100% factual) well this isn't going anywhere until it's fixed properly.

Terrible service – We had a house constructed 2 years ago in Marsden Park. To this date, we are still following up on the post maintenance. We had heavy leakage in the master bedroom whenever there are severe rains, Lower facade needs sarking installed. The builder dint bother to send someone to check the issues and refer to the insurance company. They checked and… Read more

confirmed the issue is with the maintenance. Moreover, we requested the roofer to inspect the property to confirm these maintenance issues. Have been ringing eagle homes for over a month now but no assistance. Furthermore, the exhaust pipe is not connected to any outside pipe the air gets sucked and blown back into the kitchen. This is the worst customer experience I have experienced where emails and phone calls just go unanswered.

Do not recommend!!! – Not helpful when things go wrong & after a few years living in your house you start to see all the defects come out. Cornices start falling down, ceiling starts to crack and so much more. When you notify this company about the issues they don't reply back to your emails. Show details

Only 5 stars? Eagle Homes deserve a trillion stars!!! – Thank you so much Eagle Homes for completing my house in 16 weeks woohooo!!! and we love it!!! For all those individuals who'd like to build with Eagle Homes, go for it!! My cousin and I both purchased a block of land at Oran Park, one behind the other. We visited all the major builders, no of them had the layout we wanted. Both blocks of land… Read more

that we purchased were a 12.5 wide by a 35 metre long block. For a house that would fit on a 12.5 wide block of land, all the other major builders would build us a single storey house with bedroom 1 at entry and only 20 metres in length which we did not want. We wanted a house with an open space living room within the entry of the house and at least 26 squares on our block of land. Fortunately, Eagle Homes were the only builder that had this design. So we chose the LORIKEET DESIGN which Eagle Homes has a display at The Hermitage. This Lorikeet we chose is a 26 square house 10 metres wide by 24 metres long, that fitted on our 12.5 wide block of land and still had a 8 metre backyard!

No other major builder has a 26 square house that would fit on a 12.5 wide block of land. Eagle Homes also has a smaller version of the Lorikeet for a 12.5 wide block at 30 metres deep which is on display at Gregory Hills.

SALESPERSON:

G our salesman from Eagle Homes at Oran Park (now at Middleton Grange display homes), no matter how much I write highly about this man, no words can ever describe his professionalism, commitment and wonderful service towards us his clients. Every time my family and I would come by and visit, he would welcome us with open arms, a cuddle and a kiss. Because it took 18 months for our land to register, I had a lot of time to do my homework. I sat down with our salesman G and brought up the reviews here on product review, and he went in detail, one by one and showed and explained every situation which only built my trust in building with Eagle Homes. He provided me with address's of houses that were going through construction and also address's of houses that were completed if I needed to knock on doors and ask actual customers for feedback. I ended up knocking on 15 newly built Eagle Homes houses. All their feedback were positive. Their only advise was to try to be prepared as I possibly can during plans process and I would be right. The information the salesman provided to me was all before paying my initial deposit. After paying my initial deposit, until now I have over 200 emails I have sent to our salesman asking him question after question after question. Not one time did he let me down. He always replied to every single email and I have kept them all for reference. Every time I have called our salesman, he has always had the time to talk on the phone, including his days off! To one stage I started getting so embarrassed about asking, calling and bothering this man; I started sending him Pizza deliveries for his lunch. On one situation - my cousin's block of land right behind me had an issue with his 88b restriction. With his restriction he could only submit to council and not to CDC. Thankfully our salesman along with the team at Head Office had that restriction sorted out, and we have both submitted our plans to CDC. Now that we have moved into our new home G still calls and asks about my family and our wonderful home. G I salute you, thank you so much I truly honour you!

HEAD SALES MANAGER - HEAD OFFICE:

A true lady of dignity and a true professional that truly knows how to get things moving rapidly. My first meeting with her, she explained all our costs, including costs for council requirements and so forth which I had no issues with. I was advised that it would be better for me to interact with her via email, and boy she was good at it. Every time I sent an email, I would expect a reply within the hour. If I never received an email during the same day, the next day she would apologise and advise that she was not in work on that certain day. Any issues that could not be dealt with via email I would call head office, leave a message and she would always call back. I remember the first time I met the sales manager, I made it clear I didn't want myself nor my young family to be put down, her replied was that was an honour and truly she proved herself very right. T you’re the best!

PLANS/DRAFTING:

While I went door knocking on customers homes that built previously with Eagle Homes, their advise was try to make changes to plans only ONCE. Again, because our land took 18 months to register, nearly every weekend we would attend the display home at The Hermitage and write down what changes we wanted. When we were called to check our plans, I had already prepared a list of what changes I wanted from the original plan. The plans manager was shocked that I had come so prepared. I asked how long would the changes take place in drafting, his reply was for me to come back the next day and sign off. I was amazed. Our appointment the next morning was at 10am. I had a call from drafting about 10:15am asking I was going to make it or not. They were rushing more than I was! I made it late, and signed off our plans. I must admit they are very well organised with documentation. Every single paperwork is signed. I once asked for a list of my variations, they were all emailed to me. Within two weeks our plans and external colour selection were all completed and our plans were submitted to CDC. Thank you G!

PRE-CONSTRUCTION CO-ORDINATOR:

Once the CDC was submitted, the Coordinator called and introduced herself. She advised that she would be the point of contact from this stage until construction. She would keep me up to date via email. If it was urgent she would call. All my emails were replied and calls returned. Very well documented and always kept me up to date. Truly professional! We had our plans approved in 7 weeks! Thank you so much R!

INTERNAL COLOUR SELECTIONS:

Another appointment that went very smooth. Again I was prepared with my colour selections. The internal colour selection lady was extremely polite, had a big heart and was very patient. Always told me to take my time and no need to rush in making decisions. Also very well documented - this lady knew her colours! We were given our Construction date! Thank you so much V!

CONSTRUCTION CO-ORDINATOR:

Building a house could be so so stressful but this lady just made things flow so easy, every time I was on the phone with this lady it was only good news! Either I was telling my husband its a miracle or Eagle Homes are absolutely the best of the best! J I will never forget your professionalism. Every time we were on the phone it was always positive news! Keeping me up to date. I remember very well prior to handover, Eagle Homes also sorted out my Full Occupancy Certificate. It only kept becoming easier! For a first time builder like me, everything was at ease. I also remember when my family and I picked up our keys, I gave our Construction Coordinator a big hug and kiss for all she did for our family and our wonderful new home. J thank you a million! You're an asset to Eagle Homes.

ACCOUNTS:

H is the most kindest person to deal with. So polite and such a professional in his emails. At one stage there was a delay from our bank paying a progress payment. H put our minds at rest and always kept us updated when progress payments went through. The best and full steam ahead service that Eagle Homes provided for us was, they did not wait until a certain progress payment was paid to move forward to our next stage, they just went ahead with the next stage!

SITE SUPERVISOR:

A, I hope you're reading this YOU ARE THE BEST! You were always available for updates. Our construction date was 1st July 2015 and our 26 square house was completed by October 28th. Our house was complete in 16 weeks and that included waiting 3 weeks for their best brick layer at my request! Thank you Amigo!

OWNER OF EAGLE HOMES & HIS SONS:

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! A TRILLION TIMES!!

This is what happens when you deal with a family owned company. Because towards the end of our construction, we were treated as their own family and here is why. About 3 weeks prior to our handover, our rental agreement expired; we were asked to leave the premises because we refused to re-sign a new 6 month contract. We had no choice but to move to a hotel until our house was complete. One evening I was at work and I saw the owner of Eagle Homes and his MAGNIFICENT sons come out from a restaurant nearby. I greeted them and explained my situation to them, the owner himself I could tell felt very sad and promised they would do their best to have our house handed over. That night I received a SMS from of the owner’s son saying don't worry about a thing we will do everything possible to get you into your new home.

The next morning which was my day off I went for a drive to Oran Park and drove passed our house. Who do I see outside my house? The owner of EAGLE HOMES, P was on his phone walking around my house as if it was his own son’s house he wanted finished off! The next week our house was chaotic with tradesmen all over the place. I wanted to thank one of the owner’s son. P did the unthinkable. Till this day I thank him wholeheartedly. He added a few upgrades to our house without us knowing and as a gift. They were their most expensive upgraded toilets and since we had three toilets, all of them were upgraded. A $650 door handle for our main entry door. An upgraded stained door for our laundry! THANK YOU P!!!

We are so happy my husband and I made the right choice with building with Eagle Homes. There are times when our kids are asleep and my husband and I clean our house and once we are done cleaning, my husband and I sit together and say to one another what a beautiful house we are living in! Thank you so much Eagle Homes!! I can’t wait for house number 2! Kingfisher or Myna? Let me see!

September 13th 2016 Update: Super Superb Warranty Service from Eagle Homes!!!

It has been 10 months since we have moved into our new home and we are over the moon. We love our house so so much!!

One of the main reasons we built with Eagle Homes is because they have been building homes for over 30 years and that obviously shows that once you have paid your money and moved in doesn't mean the job stops there. Once we filled in our 90 day maintenance request list, without any hesitation; all our maintenance concerns were rectified.

MAINTENANCE:

G the maintenance man for Eagle Homes, you are a credit to yourself and to Eagle Homes. I remember very well on one occasion when G attended our house and completed his work at 4pm, on his way out I showed him an issue with the lock of our main door and at times our key would get stuck in the lock, he put all his tools down and worked on our door till 7pm. He didn't charge me for it neither was this issue included in my maintenance list. He just fixed the problem - NO QUESTIONS ASKED! Thank you so much G!

WARRANTY:

In regards to our Warranty with Eagle Homes, our freestanding bath on one occasion was leaking. That evening I had sent an email to JZ from maintenance at 11:30pm. JZ the lady who does such an incredible job, replied to my email the next morning at 9:30am advising me that a plumber will be sent to my premises ASAP. At 2pm the same day, I received a phone call from the plumber advising me that he was outside and wanted to see if I was home. To my amazement this Gentleman attended my house and rectified the leak. I called my husband and advised him that the plumber just left and fixed the leak, he couldn't believe it either! EAGLE HOMES WARRANTY you guys are super superb!!!

I'm so lucky I built with EAGLE HOMES:

I really didn't realise how lucky I was that I built with Eagle Homes, until many months after my family and I moved into our beautiful home. We met many of our neighbours. When they came and visited, they were shocked to see so much living space for a house that has been built on a 12.5 wide block with an 8 metre long living room at entry. They many times said to me that only if they knew about the Lorikeet design from Eagle Homes they would have built as well! Thank God they didn't - their house would have looked identical to mine!

The most amazing experience that made me truly realise how lucky I was building with Eagle Homes, was when my neighbours asked me how much I was charged for fly screens, our freestanding bath, carpet and our double vanity in our bathroom and ensuite. I advised them that it was all INCLUDED AS STANDARD! They couldn't believe what they were hearing because they were charged for each item mentioned by their builders. One another occasion, I wanted to add a few spotlights outside my house, and I wanted to purchase the same switches Eagle Homes installed in our house during construction so that the new switches I wanted installed would be identical. When I found the supplier and explain to them the reason why I need to purchase them, they said these switches are $55 each, who did you build with?, I replied very proudly EAGLE HOMES!!

Great experience overall – This is my first home and I have to say I couldn't be more happy with the whole process at Eagle Homes. asked of them. The design, planning & contract process was done fairly quickly.

They also included alot of items as standard that I would have been charged extra for from other home builders, like fully ducted air/con, vacuuming system, high ceilings etc.

The house is only a couple of months away from completion. The building process and stages have been completed much faster than I expected. And I can see the quality of workmanship and attention to detail is of high standard from the frames & trusses, brickwork and general fit outs.

Can wait until I get the keys! I would recommend them to anyone looking to build.

Thank you to the team at Eagle Homes!

Slow and Coslty – We signed up with Eagle Homes two years ago. They offered us a competitive price, and assured us things would get processed quickly, which was not the case. issued a 240 day building contract, which does not include weekends, public holidays, or the month they close down for Christmas.

Finally they started our build. Very painfully and slowly they completed our house over 10 months. A lot of that time our house would sit without a tradesman showing up for several weeks at a time.

Two days before we were due to move in Eagle Homes presented us with our final draw down invoice, which was $8000 over that contracted agreement! They clearly told us that unless the full amount was paid, we would not be getting our keys. This left effectively homeless for over a week. Being renters, we had already given our moving dates and organized moving trucks etc. Because of Eagle Homes lack of compassion and greediness we were forced to move our things into storage and pay for holiday accommodation (with our three kids) while we waited for the process of an increase in our mortgage. This couldn't have been at a worse time, considering our accounts had been bled dry paying rent and mortgage repayments for a considerable length of time.

We have finally moved into our home now, which we are enjoying. However, we would not recommend Eagle Homes to our worst enemy! The amount of stress and pressure that was placed on our family we would not wish on any one.

Eagle Homes fool you with their 'cheaper' base prices which turns out just as much as everybody elses. To my horror when I got the quote back it was over $20k more to that what the salesman promised me what the 'maximum' price would be as he was very generous… Read more

with the site cost provisions. Anyway, I got over it so decided to pursue thinking that all builders are the same. I paid an extra $4.5k for plans to be drawn up. Then I got another surprise with 'variatons'. All in all it is around $27k more than the original verbal quote (don't trust the salesman).

The quote is not even fixed and they give you a date for commence of construction & if you go over that date then you may be liable for a price increase. But out of their 'good faith' even though they are taking their time, they have extended the price increase twice so far with me (I have heard from an x employee that a few staff members had resigned earlier in the year & they were in limbo hence the extra wait time which they use lame excuses when you ask them what is the hold up).

So far the plans have been approved by Council & the date for 'construction to commence' by has already passed the date, so now I am liable for a price increase. This mind you is not on my behalf. How can you pay an initial deposit back in October 2011 & the company hasn't even advised of a construction date as yet? Everything on my behalf has been done. My friends whom paid a deposit with Masterton Homes in January, have their slab already poured & have had no problems.

Eagle Homes has given me anxiety & I wouldn't recommend them to anybody. So, if you want to start taking anxiety pills, build with Eagle! After speaking with the manager [name removed], he seems to calm my nerves until I speak to [name removed] Taking wayyyy to long, lucky I haven't even started selling my current house or I will end up on the streets.

Terrible – Get them to put everything in writing, even the most seemingly trivial thing because later on you will need it. Keep a record of all dates and times you spoke to anyone of them. They're estimated times are just a fantasy. You will be very dissapointed. My husband and I are so sad. We are still trying to get our money back. I suggest you Run… Read more

the other way. None. The guy at Kellyville [name removed] talks forever about his family etc, so hard for him to stay focused. You will waste hours of your life listening to his drivel. Says everything will be fine...its all just lies. They are so hopeless, so unprofessional, just make mistake after mistake after mistake. You have a ray of hope that head office might be able to shed some light but they are in the dark too.

Bad – Our house is finally finished, after alot of hard work & stress on our half. I stick by my previous review that the central coast/newcastle site manager was the only person in the company that seemed to know what was going on, but still I had to remind him about things he had said he would do on a number of occasions (& somethings he promised did… Read more

not end up being done). The concrete slab was poured in the pouring rain & when we had our floorboards layed the installers had to use 10.5 bags of floor leveler to level the slab($1000 more out of our pocket). When I questioned the company about this I was told it was to Australian standards. Surely in a brand new house you should be able to lay any flooring without having such a big problem! We deposited our final payment into their account ($17,000 cash)& the company kept saying the money wasn't in their account! I know when I put a cash deposit into my own account it is there straight away! It took a fax from the bank manager before we could finally sign & get our keys. I told them I would go to fair trading & was told not to be so dramatic!! Whilst it is now over & I can sort of smile about the process, I would not recommend building with this company unless you are ready to follow everything up yourself & you don't mind LOTS (& LOTS) of stress. Reception girls are nothing but rude individuals (i'm trying to be polite here)who do not care about the customer & wouldn't know what a day of real work was. You arrange to speak to someone in particular at a certain time (time of their choice) & of course they are always out of the office or in a 'meeting'. I would not let anyone I care about go anywhere near this company....... That i finally have my house, 18 months after signing preliminary contract & 12 months after signing final contract!!!! too much to list. see previous review in August & overall opinion.

Terrible – A very frustrating experience dealing with this company. Highly unprofessional, disorganised and inconsiderate of clients interests. Comunication was highly lacking and had to chase every action, project took over 3 years from first engagement. Price is the only thing worth mentioning here, but, you get what you pay for. Pretty much the same negative stuff everybody else has experienced.

Terrible – Certainly an experience I won't ever be repeating. Never, will I deal with them again and I advise anyone looking to build not to go with Eagle Homes.... They don't include rear exterior lights, towel rails in the bathrooms, door stoppers, and what they do provide is inferior quality. We exchaged contracts and due to waiting on them to have… Read more

repairs done like huge gaps where the wall didn't meet the top of the door jamb, a garden gate that didn't shut, and alot of other poor workmanship it took 5 months before settlement. I have been attempting to speak to them for the past 8 weeks about 4 hardwired smoke detectors that we had to replace 8 months after settlement on this brand new house and they have not had the decency to return any of my calls. They really don't want to know you after they have your money. So if you make an unfortunate decision and go with Eagle Homes keep your solicitor handy for at least 12 months to deal with any issues you WILL have. Highly NOT recommended.

Terrible experience – Quotation conditions that seem normal, Like Council Approval, a contour survey to AHD, a site inspection by eagle homes, etc. These are all done by eagle homes, but if they are not done within the Quotation period, you will get charged. They connect the Quotation expiry date and the final contract with these events. Just remember that eagle… Read more

homes are the ones that decide when to do these things in order to build your house.

Once you have paid for the Quotation and your Expiry date is set, every thing slows down and is and often wrong taking ages to do a thing. When the Date expires you get a Price increase, if you complain because of their incompetence, and you get them to reverse the price increase, they will oblige and give you an Extended "Expiry Date" showing their good Faith.

Once you are back on board, the same thing happens, time is wasted and as you get closer to the new expiry date they will finally send the contract to sign and pay your 5% deposit.

But their won’t be enough time for them to finish, by the Quotation Expiry Date and the conditions will be breached, which are in the contract, because eagle homes won’t start them until you sign and pay, and you can’t sign and pay, until they send you the contract.

I used a private certifier, with a signed authorisation payment paid to eagle homes if rejected, for a (complying development certificate), Just to speed things up.

At a meeting in the sales manager’s office, we planed, 2 weeks for contract preparation and we signed off on the last variation and plans, we had a 149 already, we were looking at a 4 week CDC turn around.

The end result was terrible, they sent the contract 10 weeks later, with no communication in that time, and the CDC had taken 22 weeks. The Quotation Expiry Date was the14th week.

The certifier wasn’t contacted till after the contract was signed.

After you have signed the contract, they will send you a variation with in a week,(mine was over $9,000.00)saying that you have not completed the conditions, in the contract by the Original Quotation Expiry Date period, And say how fair they have been to you.

And the special conditions, allow them to back charge you, multiple price rises.

But get this, my new expiry date is august 2012, Now i already have DA approval, why do i need to be charged for this length of time, we are ready to build, what have they got planned for me?

Well i am not hanging around to find out, i would rather loose $13,000.00 already paid, than continue with these people, for my sanity alone I will lick my wounds and move on.

P.S

I havent even talked about the horrible service, incompetence and lack of care which is ripe through the whole experience.

Terrible experience, Mentally and financialy

A name i quickly want to forget in my building life: Stay away from it! – All along i was of the belief that all complaints and disapprovals against Eagle Homes were inaccurate. However, my current experience with this builder is horrible to say the least. I was given a price for constructing a particular house, and i was convinced to pay the initial deposit to lock in the price, and i did that. On getting the tender… Read more

quotation 2 months later, the base price of the house was increased by nearly $5000.When i asked why they had increased the prize, the Head Office Staff seemed to be blank and confused giving a number of probable reasons why the increase was done, and also promised to come back to me with an accurate answer in the following 2 working days. At the same time i was compelled to pay $3500 for drawing plans and so forth and that was to be paid within three days from the date the quotation was presented to me.

Unexplained additional costs were put in the quotation, asked them why, all they said was 'it is for your protection' whatt protection? no explanation. Geo tech report charge and $5500 Saline soil charge was put in place despite the fact that my land developer did the Geo Tech Report and no indication of Saline soil at all on the whole land.

I openly communicated with the builder that i could not go ahead with the building process with them as long as the extra $5000 was still on my quotation since the price we agreed when i paid my initial deposit was lower than that and i had already locked in the price when i paid the deposit as per their explanation. They told me they would simply refund me because the confusion regarding the prize was between Head office and the marketing consultant at their display home. I agreed to getting my money back but it is now almost one and half months without getting back my $1000. I ring them all the time , and every time i am told i have to wait for three weeks, next time wait for 4 weeks. Once they get your money, they do not care, and just imagine if they do that to 100 customers, how much are they making as interest in the bank with customers' money yet no service is provided? A genuine builder should have competent field consultants and the Head Office should be knowledgeable about the products they are selling to clients.

I really regret having wasted my time dealing with them, you will be disgusted i tell you. Try it at your utter dismay!!! Field Consultants and Head Office personnel seem to be running two different companies, and the blame game is endless between these two, BUT the customer suffers because of all this.

Inaccurate information, inconsiderate to customers and 'a never care attitude'.

Stay clear of Eagle Homes – Our recent expierence with Eagles Homes was so frustrating, upsetting and we are just now angry and annoyed with the lies we were given. We asked for a price on how much this home would cost to build including everything no hidden costs. With no hestiation the salesman gave us a price of $160,000. We asked does this include everything? " Yes… Read more

it does " Deposit was paid of $1000 and for this we would receive a quote and we were led to believe also our plans.

As we trusted this salesman as we had thought he was truthful we signed documents with not reading correctly (which is our fault). We received our quote and to our shock it was $189,950. You could of imagined what was going through our heads. We could not believe we paid $1,000 to be told this. Much to our suprise we find out that not all builders charge a fee.

If Eagle Homes did this to 100 people WOW what an income is that. When another builder can complete a quote while you are sitting there fixed price it makes your blood boil. To the salesman at Oran Park you are the most dishonest person I have ever met. You promised so much and delivered nothing but heartache.Honestly I would never ever recommend Eagle Homes to anyone.

Promise the world and deliver nothing!
