Elna 664 / 664 Pro Questions & Answers
VerifiedHello, Can you sew with Artic fleece on 664 Pro? I am new to overlocking . Is there any tips or things to adjust? Should I change the needle to suit and if so what type to get? Can you adjust the presser foot? Many thanks Liz
I have an Elna 664 Pro serger. I have followed all of the instructions in the manual but can't get the rolled hem to roll. Any suggestions?
I want to see the information for step to sewing
what is the price
google your area. Join spotlight to get discounts on stuff if they have the best price but I waited till they had a sale and got over $100 off.
Why won’t fabric move trough my overlocker?
have you put the foot down? The foot is what you lift to change the needles.
The handwheel on the side of my overlocker suddenly has started spinning and there's no contact for continuing to sew.
Take it to place of purchase if under warranty so they can look at it. Sounds like a screw has come loose or a belt has broken.
Why are the two right threads the only ones being used up??
They are the 2 that do the major stitching and the other two are almost a straight line stitch. I swap mine around to balance the usage.
What do I set my Elina pro overlocker at for the gathering stitch
Is this overlocker good for thick fabric like rugs?
How it’s working have you a video
no video, it took me a few goes to work it out. Follow the book instructions for the type of stitch but then I played a bit with the tension settings to get things where I wanted them. Use the correct diameter thread and I use the larger needle which is stronger with a slightly larger eye. I run a thicker thread through the surging arms due to the larger holes but u must be careful not to go to fast & watch for the upper threads as they can get caught up in funny ways, u will see if it happens. use the colour guide for threading the machine and all should work out. play around with the machine on scrap stuff to work out which tension is best for your material.
Thank you so so much for helping God bless you
I recently broke the left hand needle and replaced it now the overlocker will not sew it dose all the right thing but no stitches just four cotton threads I checked threading and all seems to be ok please and thanks for any advice
I have a new Elna Elina pro overlocker. Just still in the practicing stage but it has started to continually make a tapping sound when I sew through something and the thread of the right needle is breaking. I’m pretty sure I’m threading it correctly. Any ideas? I’m using good quality thread. Thankyou
I am experiencing exactly the same problem. Can anyone help?

Yes the stitch width and length are adjustable on the Elna Pro. My favourite overlocker.
I am first time user and owner of an overlocker. Where can I learn to use my 664 pro to the fullest. Is there video or YouTube or tutorial available...anything please.
Start small. Use YouTube and the machine manual. Practice and practice start with simple tasks
Good advice Pegasus.....thankyou!
My Elna overlocker is making a loud banging clunking noise that started after I was overlocking something quite thick. Any idea what is causing it?

What are the exact settings for a rolled hem
All the correct (and exact) settings are contained in the manual that comes with the machine.
What are the exact settings for a rolled hem
Hi there,
Please will you tell me the differences between the machines other than price?
Kind regards and many thanks,
Kristen
To answer your question KristenK one would have to own more than one overlocker - unless you are in sales. I do know that the Elna Pro is easier to thread than most of the others. The manual is very clear on the instructions. Maybe you could check out the descriptions provided by Spotlight Australia as they would give some clues to the machines features.
