Euroflex Vapour Floor Steamer EZ1 Questions & Answers
VerifiedHI,
I've had my steam cleaner for a number of months now and have only used it twice as it is just so hard to push, I have wooden floors and it cleans them well but its hard work despite the instruction manual suggesting "Save your back" the cleaner does the work for you! I have the correct pad and have followed all instructions. Any ideas please?
Hi Paulagonc40, Euroflex uses a long strand microfibre in its floor pads (as compared to a short stand) because the long strand is better to pick up and hold the dirt that the hot steam loosens. Some floor types tend to grip the long stand microfibre preventing the steam cleaner to glide freely (making it hard to push). Also a floor that is textured can also grip microfibres. Can you advise if your wooden floors are sealed and if they are smooth finish?
yes, wooden floors , smooth and sealed thanks
Hi Paulagonc40, Thanks for reply. If your floors are smooth and sealed then it is the right type of floor. But it could be that your particular floor might be gripping the long strand fibres in the pad causing the steam cleaner to stick and not glide easily. In order to improve the gliding the pad might require additional moisture (microfibre requires moisture to glide, your floors might require more moisture in the pad) . With a spray bottle of water, can you try spraying the bottom of the pad facing the floor with water, to see if the additional moisture improves the gliding. The steam cleaner cannot provide the additional moisture because it is calibrated to provide the right amount of heat and moisture, for most floor types. But as mentioned for your floors more moisture may be required. Please try and let us know the outcome.
I love my euroflex steamer but If you have a large home you will need a few pads as they must be clean. My problem is that the pads roll under the unit when you push forward and therefore you can't use it. It's very frustrating! Why does this happen? I've seen that this is a common problem and really surprised that this wasn't picked up by the designers of the product. Otherwise it leaves my tiles squeaky clean.
Sorry, possibly I won't have the answer for you. This problem never came up with ours. Maybe we hadn't used ours as much as you have. What kind of tiles do you have, and how wide is the grouting. I could imagine if the gaps between the tiles are wider and deeper, the pad could get caught. Maybe there is an issue with the Velcro on the pad or on the unit itself. With ours you need to use quite a bit of force to remove the pad from the steamer. Maybe that is why the product is no longer produced.
What year did the euroflex m1 ezr come out?
Sorry don't ask me, I'm still waiting for a question I asked.
Hi Jboss, the Euroflex brand has been in Australia since Jan 2005 and we started selling into the major retail electrical appliance retailers in early 2009. Model EZ1 is an upright steam cleaner that uses a boiler to product superheated steam (a boiler is a commercial steam generation method, as such the EZ1 is not a steam mop, steam mops use a drip feed steam method that does not superheat the water). EZ1 was released into the market in late 2007.
The current model is Vapour-M2R (which replaced the EZ1). I hope that helps. Feel free to call our Customer Care Line with any questions on 1800 66 38 66.

Can I purchase some pads for my monster mop
Is there anyone able to help me
You can. I bought my replacement pads from Harvey Norman. For your interest I received feedback from a user who, as long as she washed the pads by hand, made them last for over two years. Using the washing machine to do the job is certainly faster, but shortens the pads' life, however....convenience wins the argument for me!
Hi Colin C, replacement pads are available for all Euroflex Steam Cleaners. Please refer to our website at external link for your convenience. Please ensure the right pads are ordered for the right product. You mentioned Monster Mop, we also had a unique product called Monster Hop Mop that used thermal heat to clean (not steam). Please that you are not referring to the thermal heat floor mop.
Cost please
Currently AU $332.10 on eBay (previous price AU $369.00) Worth every cent!
A client gave me her mop as she no longer needed it, however, I'm not impressed with the pads. The "velcro's" if you could call it that doesn't stay on, very frustrating.
Can I use my EZ1 on vinyl floor planks please
I believe this is not recommended, however I would check with the manufacturer. I have only used it on ceramic tiles with great success
Hi Wendy, We know that you can use the EZ1 on vinyl surfaces. But the issue with these new vinyl floor planks is the adhesive glue that is used to stick the plank to the floor. There are different strengths of glue and it is difficult for Euroflex to give advice because we cannot be certain on the type of glue used for your particular floor planks. As a result we do not give any advice on the ability of the adhesive glue to withstand the heat from Euroflex products. If you had any pieces left over of your floor planks, trying putting them down on a wooden board and use the EZ1 as you would while cleaning to test over a few weeks if the planks are affected by the heat from the EZ1. If the heat does affect the glue, it would not happen immediately, it may happen over a period of time (which does complicate the testing).
Can you please let me know what is the best Euroflex Steamer for laminate flooring that incorporates the anti bacterial solution, thank you.
Sorry, but I cannot help with your enquiry because I only use it on tiled floors. May I suggest you contact Euroflex directly to find out? I have done so in the past and found them most helpful. external link Better safe than sorry! Cheers Sandy
Hi Debbie , for laminate floors the Euroflex Vapour-M2R is suitable for this floor type. Our steam is more like a hot vapour, so it does help to kill germs and bacteria on floors. The next model is the Vapour-M3 (model SC1d1) which you can clean with a Euroflex approved Antibacterial solution called Antibak. The Antibak formula not only kills germs and bacteria on contact but it has a residual effect that stops the re-growth of bacteria for up to 7 days after use. As long as you use the Antibacterial solution sparingly on the laminate floor, it should be no issue. With Antibak a small amount goes a long way , so we recommend using it sparingly anyway. I hope that helps. Other information can be found on external link or you can call us on 1800 663 866
I currently have the Euroflex M2 - is that okay to be using on laminate flooring? Thanks
Hi Debbie, I have laminate floors and I use the Euroflex Vapour-M2 on them with no issue. To keep the steam as dry as possible, do not over fill the boiler. The steam that gets created inside the boiler sits on top of the water level in the boiler ready to be used for cleaning. If the boiler is overfilled, there is no space for the steam, hence the boiler will throw out excess water to make space for the steam.
When filling the boiler, only fill with 600ml of water (3 x fills of the filling cup provided). Clean your floors until all the water in the boiler is used up. Then refill with another 600ml, reheat and continue cleaning. If there is water left in the boiler after you finished washing the floor, you can store the M2 with water inside the boiler. Then on a subsequent floor cleaning session, simply heat up the existing water inside the boiler and clean, when water runs out, refill with 600ml.
This process will ensure that the boiler is never overfilled and it will only ever have 600ml of water inside. This will avoid excess water being thrown out by the boiler and it will keep the steam as dry as possible, which is important for your more water sensitive laminate floors. Use the parking mat provided if you need to rest the unit while cleaning or during idle time.
For the best cleaning performance, do not forget to change the floor pad to recharge the cleaning performance. The microfibers in the pad will pick up and hold dirt, but if they are saturated with dirt or water then the microfibers cannot do their job effectively. We like to recommend a clean pad with every boiler full of water. Each time you refill the boiler with 600ml, take the time to also change the pad with a fresh clean one. Of course if you notice that pad is particularly dirty, you can change the pad at any time that you feel is necessary. You can purchase extra pads in a package of 3 pads so that you have extras on hand while cleaning.
If you have any further questions, for convenience our Customer Care phone number is on the silver sticker on the unit for easy reference. Call us any time M-F from 9am to 4pm.
Fantastic response, thank you for the clarification
Do you have to continually press down a button or something to keep the steam coming?
Great question. My answer is No! The button only applies to the shot steam feature. I don't normally use it because I have found little need for it and especially because I am mindful of doors' construction and how vulnerable they may be to steam (hot water) getting into the doors' bottom surface facing the floor. They are mostly left unpainted/sealed and therefore could be damaged by hot water/steam.
Hi MPK, for our dedicated Floor Steam Cleaners (models EZ1R/M1, SC1z1/M2, SC1d1/M3, M2R) the units have an automatic steam release feature. You simply recline the handle downward to start cleaning and steam will automatically emit from the bottom jets sending hot steam to the microfibre pad. There is a trigger for steam on demand for an extra shot of steam or to clean the floor edges where the wall and floor meet. This automatic steam release feature is somewhat unique to Euroflex Floor steam cleaners because of the method of steam production, the steam is made by a boiler (also called as steam generator) that makes the steam continuously and stores the steam in the boiler ready for use. The boiler constantly makes more steam as the steam is used up, so you never run out of steam while cleaning (until the water runs out). The steam is generally hotter and drier than other steam generation methods, so it is safe to use on water sensitive floors such as wood or laminate floors.
More cheaply made steam mops use a drip feed system that use a heating element or heating block to make the steam, which does require buttons to be depressed or pushed to make the steam. The steam generally has a higher moisture content that can leave floors too wet. That is the main difference between a steam cleaner that uses a boiler to make the steam versus a steam mop that uses a heating element/block to make the steam.
I hope that helps.
How much distilled water to put?
HI Norma per the instruction manual, use 600ml of tap or distilled water. Do not over fill the boiler. The way to fill the boiler is that when the boiler is empty fill 600ml. Use the floor steamer until all the 600ml is used, then refill 600ml once again. This method will avoid overfilling the boiler. IF the boiler is overfilled, it will chuck out the excess water resulting in the steam being too wet. If the filling is only 600ml each time , the drier steam output will always happen.
If you finished cleaning and the boiler still has water in it (say 300ml). You can store the unit with water inside, no damage will happen. On your next cleaning, pull out the unit and heat it up, use the 300ml in the boiler from the prior clean, once the 300ml has been used up, then refill to 600ml.
I hope that helps
how much water does the euroflex vapour take
Hi Trish....The unit has a 600ml boiler capacity. Only fill 600ml with every refill. The way it should be filled is to fill 600ml when the boiler is dry. Keep using the unit until the water runs out. When there is no more steam coming out, you know that the boiler is empty.
Unplug the unit and refill with 600ml of water. You can refill immediately , but be careful because the boiler is very hot inside and water entering will shoot back out as hot water or hot steam. Just pour a few drops at a time at arms length, to allow the boiler to cool down. Then pour normally.
IF you finished steam cleaning the floor and there is water in the boiler (say 300ml), it can be left inside, no damage to the boiler will happen, On your next cleaning task, pull out the unit and heat it up and use the 300ml of water from the prior cleaning. Then once empty refill with 600ml as per above.
IF the boiler is over filled, then the unit will throw out any excess water to allow the dry steam to be produced in the boiler. The steam sits on top of the water line in the boiler, if the space is taken with water, then the unit must throw out the excess water to create space for the steam.
I hope that helps. Our toll free customer care line is on the silver sticker on top of the unit if you need any more assistance.
Where can i find the serial number to register my m2r?
HI Carol look for the silver sticker located behind the unit close to where the electrical cord is attached to the base of the Floor Cleaner. The serial number should appear in the following format- S/N EF: 123456
the O ring seal on the screw in plug is perforated and steam keeps coming out. Where can I get a new O ring

Can the jets be cleaned
Hi Belle w. Generally speaking the jets do not need cleaning because, it is only water in the form of a steam vapour going through the jets.
I have just bought a Euroflex Floor steam mop and each time I use it on my uneven slate floor the mop pad rolls up underneath due to the floor surface so I am unable to use it. Is there a solution to this?
Hi... generally the product is for cleaning smooth floors such as timber or glazed tiles.....or if a floor is uneven the floor should have a polyurethane seal or a similar type of seal, to allow for better gliding and avoid the uneven surface from pulling the pad off. One customer with a similar issue got creative and she sewed an elasticated strap to the pad to fasten the pad to the mop to prevent it from being pulled off by the uneven surface. Maybe even just 2 strips of strong material with safety pins to fasten the pad to the bottom of the mop. That could be a solution to try for your particular type of uneven floor.
We have had our monster for about 3 years. Had a problem with it where the steam just kept gushing out of the extra steam vents and soaking the floors. Took it to the approved repairer who checked it out and found nothing wrong. It still does this but not every time so we just put up with it. Then the lever that operated to get that extra burst of steam just stopped working but the steam automatically gushes out through these vents. Today when we turned it on, it tripped the fuse so looks like it’s time to get rid of it. While I have loved this mop, the ongoing issues have been disappointing.
Hi Helen, the lever that operates the front jets will only work when the aluminium pole is fully extended and locked into place with the locking clip in the middle, if the aluminium pole has slide down ever so slightly then the lever will not operate the front jets. But regardless of this, if the fuse is now tripping it might be time to replace the unit.
The unit is now out of its warranty period. Given your troubles we can do something for you for a new unit at a 50% discount plus a bonus pack of replacement pads at no charge (valued at $53) plus shipping costs (approx. $15).
Please contact our Customer Care Line on 1800 66 38 66, for future reference this number is on the silver sticker on top of the unit, it can be used for any warranty or service issues. However, we wish to advise that our stock arrival has been delayed due to the Coronavirus outbreak in China and we do not anticipate having stock until end of April.
Thanks for your response. Sou day like we will need to update. I will ring the 1800 number and sort it out. Regards Helen
the steam trigger is not working ?
Hi, the frontal steam jets are operated by the trigger on the white handle. If the trigger has gone floppy with no tension , then the aluminium poles are not fully extended. Please ensure that the poles are extended to their maximum (as indicated by the line markings on the poles themselves) and locked in place with the clip in the middle of the extended poles. The clip should have a little nip that goes into a small hole when the clip is clipped down. Any issues can be discussed with our Customer Service Team on 1800 66 38 66. This phone number is on a silver sticker on top of the unit for easy reference. I hope that helps resolve your trigger issue.
thanks I found the instructions written on the hanfle on closer inspection all OK now Thanks again
Hi just purchased the euroflex vapour floor steamer ez1, when I'm using the mop pad it is just pushing the fine dust around and not collecting it am I doing something wrong, i also had vaccumed before hand
Hi msbec121- loose dust and dirt needs to be vacuumed away. The floor steamer will wash the surface of the floor for dirt that is stuck onto the floor (in place of the normal bucket and mop). If fine dust has not be removed, please check your vacuum cleaner. Depending on the age and filters of some vacuums, fine dust can sometimes escape back in to the air from the exhaust side or air vents of the vacuum cleaner.
Hi My euroflex is awesome apart from the pads keep rolling over and making it hard to clean and push. Any reasons why it does this???
Hi, I've has this issue as well, I think because the surface you're trying to clean is too dry, making it difficult for the pads to clean effectively. I squeeze the trigger handle to activate the 4 nozzles at the front to make the floor wet, or you can lift the mop off the floor for a few seconds to create steam underneath it. You could also try putting a small amount of disinfectant on the floor you're about to clean (but don't put anything other than water in the actual mop itself). Hope this helps
Ive only had this issue occur once recently when I cleaned the tiles under the fridge when I moved the fridge out. It was hard to push over that particular spot but once I went over it a few times was fine. The rest of my tiles it just glides across. Not sure why, They arent a modern tile
My steamer keeps tripping out a circuit breaker. Any thoughts on why please
Hi Mick C, sounds like an issue may have developed with your steamer. Please contact our Customer Service Centre on 1800 66 38 66 for technical support. We can trouble shoot with you or have the unit come in for service if needed. For future reference the Customer Service Number is on a silver sticker on top of the steamer for easy reference.
