We have been with Exetel for a few years now and honestly I would not recommend them to anyone, we live in Zetland (Sydney) so do not live rural and would expect to have great coverage with the plan we have but most days our internet drops out for no reason or is slow to the point where we can't use it, I am currently writing this review using my… Read more
mobile hotspot as for no apparent reason our internet is not working this morning.
My partner and I both work from home on ocassion and this makes it almost impossible. We also do not get coverage upstairs in our bedroom, we live in a 2 bedroom terrace for reference, not a big place by any means and if we ever want to watch something in bed have to use our mobile hotspot as the internet just does not work.
We have been loyal customers with Exetel for around 8 years now and when we called to figure out this problem, they did not offer any type of compensation, only that we could purchase an extender and new modem, totaling around $250, not to mention they put our plan up by $10 per month with no prior notification.
Terrible service all around, we have now cancelled our plan with them and are trying an alternate provider.
Fine internet, maddening customer service – Internet was ok, kind of crappy but I got the cheapest. Now I'm in a [Content Removed] hell hole of cancellation where I swear there's been two extra months on top of the extra month. There was my final month I paid for BC I cancelled too late, plus their [Content Removed] extra month they ask you pay after cancellation. I've paid them three times… Read more
since moving out, called a bunch and they just end up making such a mess of their explanation that you leave not really knowing what you came to ask. I've just got another freaking bill. The system is a mess. I just want to be done with it but I'm stuck in an invoice Labrinth I'm apparently too stupid to understand. Just not worth dealing with their customer service. My Exetel also kind of sucked and would often show there wasn't an outstanding payment when I knew I hadn't paid that month yet. I literally just want to be done with them.

HFC Internet has been going down at 5:30pm on three separate occasions in the past 10 days, back up by morning. Saturday and Sunday this week finally down on Sunday 5:30 and never recovered, so called 8am Monday. Exetel were good and have confirmed an issue which they referred to NBN, sigh, may get it fixed sometime this week, maybe or not. Tried everything but no connection stable for more than a millisecond. Not Exetel’s fault. Show details

Patient and helpful Tech Staff solved my NBN connnection – Thankyou to Sean, Sasrin and Wasim. Over 5 days I was ringing every day to check the connection of my NBN, which was unstable. Cheap and reliable – I have the cheapest plan and have no issues. I only work sometimes from home so highest use would be streaming in the evenings. Downloads is fine. There is a difference with the higher plans but for what we use, it’s not needed. I can’t recall any drop outs. Customer service on set up was helpful and friendly. Thanks Exetel. Show details

Watch out for the termination policy – Be VERY mindful of the termination policy. Excetel is the 1st NBN provider I have seen with this. "As per the terms of your agreement with Exetel, your account will continue to be charged for the minimum 30-day cancellation notice period." Show details

Dodgy as – When changing NBN providers they have a 30 day period after you cancel where you have to pay for another month that you aren't using. Dodgy as. This stuff was outlawed with phone plans and should be outlawed with internet plans as well. Show details
