Had an issue with hammering sounds in the pipes each time I turned a tap on/off. Technician identified the issue as being too much pressure in the pipes. Offered a couple of options and was open to me picking and choosing. Went with a pressure reducing valve which was installed within a few days and has now fixed an issue I had for the past 4 years. "possible extra" amount was. Ultimately it was just a straight forward replacement with no "extra" work or materials required. A maximum job time of 30 minutes. When we questioned why no reduction for no extras involved they offered a $50 reduction which in no way would have covered any extra digging & material if that was required. In the end a total rip off & will never use them for any trades in future.
Follow-up · No contact from the supplier since the review. Original quote was $895 so a total of $845 after the $50 reduction for 30 minutes work on site. The person who quoted added $250 for the "possible maximum work & materials if they had to dig ground & restructure the copper pipe", none of which was required.

A job well done – What a day for this job. BPLV installation. It was raining, cold and miserable. Finding the copper pipe was a challenge, but he found it. The job was then completed, the trench filled and the water was back on. All done without a sou'wester or grimace. New Airconditioner – I had a fault on my old evaporative cooler. I rung Fawcett and they sent out a technician the same day to inspect it. Jozsef arrived on time, got on the roof and inspected the issue, then explained to me my options for repair or replacement. Because of the age i decided to replace the system, which jozsef then organised for the next day. Really happy with the service and finished product.

kept us informed, answered our concerns and queries and followed through when he said he would. The Fawcett team was friendly, approachable and helped relieved some of the anxiety and stress of 2 people with a young daughter both working full time while overseeing the build of a GF and at the same time renovating the main house.
Along the way we added some extras which were fairly priced ,and when you're spending north of 23K on the GF we really were budget conscious.
Like anything there were a few hiccups along the way again dealt with quickly without drama. Our suggestion to anyone dealing with any company ,especially if you're spending a not inconsiderable sum is to be clear in what you want, be open and flexible to expert advice and work with your builder/tradies etc and if things do a bit awry, then keep the communication going and flowing.

Bath repair – The guys from Fawcett fixed an ongoing problem that I’d had with my bath. They even managed to find a new solution that saved a significant amount from their initial quote. Friendly service – I had Courtney come out in the night to temporarily patch a toilet that had fallen off the wall. Then I had Jozsef the next afternoon to replace it. Excellent service, friendly, reassuring and pleasant men.
