November of 2024 with Focus on from the Mile end store. I was thrilled to put in a purchase and get these items into my new house as soon as possible. I was given 1-2 weeks for the tables and mid February for the chairs. I did indeed go and collect my tables at the end of November, but I just collected my chairs on Thursday, the 1st of May.

Whilst I knew there would be a delay in this purchase, the communication and compensation I have received since February when I was hoping to collect my chairs has been poor. I called the store in mid March as I had not heard a single thing. No emails, no messages and no calls about continued delays. Upon calling, I waited on hold and then left my number for someone to call me back, which no one did, so I called again the next day only to be told there are actually further delays with the chairs, and it would be another few weeks before they were available.

I visited in store to definitely confirm there was still a delay where I saw the chairs were actually still being advertised on the floor for sale. I was told I couldn't simply have those, even at full price.

I called at the beginning of April, only to finally now be offered the opportunity to select some different chairs if I wanted, but not from the store I shopped at, as this was closed. I still hadn't received any communication from anyone about the continued delays, other than communication I initiated. Your store held my money for those chairs for an extra 2 months with no updates or compensation offered at all. Upon receiving my call that the chairs were ready, delivery was not offered, no discount was offered, not even a store voucher. There was never the opportunity to be given some loan chairs in the meantime. Sure, I had bought the table, but I still had no way to sit there because I had no chairs. It felt as though I would never receive my product, let alone ever see the money I had paid for it as the mention of a refund was the only time I was finally offered the opportunity to purchase different chairs.

Whilst the products I have received meet the expectations I had from what I saw in store, the lack of even offering for free delivery on more than a two month delay is, to me, appalling.

Service in store was fine, poor communication after sale. Waiting over 3 months for an item and paying added handling costs for a service that was not provided. No apology from store for multiple mistakes. State manager showed no empathy for error. One of the 4 products was of poor condition and needed to adjust myself. Have purchased multiple… Read more

Horrific customer service – We had a large order (>$10,000) and paid an initial deposit of $2000 as the salesman told us it was fine to pay the remainder on delivery. At the delivery the driver was incredibly rude (enough to make my finance cry) and told us we would not be able to make the payment using our phones. The driver left without delivering our goods and caused major issues for our move in. The response from focus was equally disappointing. They were unsympathetic and unwilling to admit any fault and find an adequate solution. The ‘best’ solution we could come to was me driving to the store same day (1hr round trip) and making the final payment +$80 delivery fee for next day delivery. Expect the sales people to be nice but it’s all a front for poor customer service once you have made payment.

Excellent service and quality products! – I tried to order 2 items online but had an issue completing it so phoned the store. He couldn’t have been more helpful. He resolved the issue (of availability) and completed the order easily and in good humour. The delivery came within the expected timeframe, very good quality and very well packed too. As a bonus, minimal assembly required!! Couldn’t fault the process from beginning to end (apart from painful online ordering)

Customer service which went above and beyond – We were so impressed by the service we received at Focus on Furniture Mile End. This was our first time in a Focus on Furniture store. Our experience was so positive with the sales person who served us that next time we are shopping for furniture we will not hesitate to shop at Focus on Furniture first.
