After initial purchase we did have a problem so required a serviceman. He attempted to fix the intermittent problem & returned 3 times (he would not give up) finally success. Service") so important. This week the mechanism to retract the feet area snapped. I rang Springvale store - told to go online & request a service, of which I did. No phone contact or call however I did receive an email stating...your chair is out of warranty (3 1/2 years old). Additionally, damages are a result of how the piece is used, such as forcing the leg rest closed, getting in & out of recliner whilst opened. My Senior husband with his medical condition could not accomplish this aerial move. Quote from email .......Due to both the age (3 1/2 years)of your piece & nature of the damages, (assumption) we would not be able to offer to repair this for you. (Can you believe this???) If you would like to purchase a new motor, our team would be happy to assist you with a cost of $100 for part, which can be picked up from our store. NO offer of a serviceman to install the motor. Obviously we are suppose to do that ourselves. Unbelievable practice, what is wrong with this first point of service, don't answer their phones! Comfort and customer satisfaction – Needing a new bed for a new apartment I chose a Focus on Furniture item for its excellent value, stylish appearance and for the added bonus of built in storage drawers much needed as I downsized. Poor quality – Bought a dresser and bed side table. I had a diffuser on top on some books on bedside table. The diffuser spilt and I tried to wipe it immediately with a clean cloth. discussed the issue with a paint specialist and they suggested I contact the customer care as the quality of the paint was poor and the paint was not varnished properly. I contacted the customer service , they not only did not show any sympathy and understanding but were rude and unhelpful. I suggest you think twice next time you want to purchase a piece from Focus on. Their price is competitive however the quality is poor and you’ll loose money in the long run as you’ll need to replace the pieces sooner than you expected.

told us in stock can be delivery on the expect delivery day, ok, then 1 day before the delivery day, told us our dinning table set is not in stock, I was quite mad with this because never been told us the table was the issue or no stock, and no expectation day, could be month away, we were expected a table to fill the dinning room for so long no they just told us no in stock, nothing they can do, no compensation at all, end of date, it focus us to get another set of dinning table(which we don't like that much compare to the one we initially selected) so after near 3 months waiting, we getting the sofas and dinning table completely different to the one we bought due to we have no more time to wait.

The bed frame we had ordered unfortunately was too big. We had recently purchased a new property and dimensions of stair cases was not something we thought to measure. We needed the bed frame in the master bedroom upstairs and there was no way it would fit. The delivery staff were very friendly but could not get the box upstairs no matter what. The bed frame was then reloaded onto the delivery truck and taken back to warehouse, in it's packaging and undamaged. This is where my experience with Focus on Furniture really took a turn.

I contacted the store that same day, and was advised by [Name Removed] "You need to come choose another bed frame in store. We don't usually do refunds for change of mind". I informed [Name Removed] it was not a "change of mind" as he had stated, it physically didn't fit and we had no other option then to not accept delivery. I was not too impressed with his response, but decided to attend the store anyway to see if any bed frames would be fit for purpose. We browsed the entire store looking for something that would physically fit up the stairs and would fit the theme of the room. Unfortunately there was nothing. I approached the front counter and asked to speak to [Name Removed] in person but was told he was busy. I asked if anyone else was around that could help when the "manager" who was sitting at a desk to the left then abruptly said, "look I am aware of what had happened. I'll need to speak to the regional manager. I can't do anything today". I was somewhat shocked as I was polite and did not realise a refund needed to go all the way to a regional manager. I was then informed someone would call me.

On or around the 23/12/20 I was contacted by [Name Removed] on the phone. He stated they could give me a refund, minus $100 for the "restocking fee". I said to [Name Removed] I didn't feel a restocking fee of $100 was fair as the product was still in the box and went back to the same warehouse on their delivery truck. I asked if I could speak to the person that had made that decision and he snapped back at me and said, "No you can't. The decision has been made. Either take that refund amount or you won't be getting anything until at least mid January". I was flabbergasted. I was not rude to him on the phone, yet the contempt he showed me I was not expecting. I provided my bank details to him on the phone and left the phone call feeling shocked that any business would treat customers this way.

Today, the 4/1/21, I again contacted Focus on Furniture Springvale to ask about the status of the refund. I was told by [Name Removed], a staff member, that her manager had processed the refund on the 23/12/20 but as head office was closed, they had not processed the refund from their end. She said it wasn't her fault head office hadn't processed the refund and that it "should" be in our accounts at the end of the week. Again, another outstanding display of customer service.

It's now been three weeks since our original delivery and still no refund. We had planned to buy more pieces of furniture from Focus on Furniture but after this experience, we will NEVER step foot inside their stores again. The complete lack of customer service and attitude from every staff member I have dealt with at this store is unbelievable.

If you are planning on purchasing from Focus on Furniture I STRONGLY recommend you reconsider. They are more than happy to take your money, but will then treat you as an inconvenience and annoyance afterwards.

couch due to the cup holders immediately I called up the company I did what I was told I removed the cup holders that were currently there and the electrical settings that I was asked to and I was posted out some plug off fittings to stop the couch from overheating and electrical faulting and also sent some new cup holders that had fluorescent sticker around them for glow in the dark

I must state that this glow in the dark does not work properly though although this is not my issue this is quite a shabby system as the cup holders work fine but the sticky around the cup holders that are fluorescent do not work at all if they do work very seldom very short and not enough

Moving forward after doing this I do what I was told happy that my couch was it not at risk of burning moving forward utilising my couch as it was time later I hadn't unfortunate experience where my single seater the side switch to operate the couch became faulty the couch did not work in any of its settings as well as it was overheating and burning hot I immediately turned off my couch emailed customer service and waited for them to reply

I must say in doing this a very frustrating process with customer service. Not only do you not get a name on the other end of the emails you cannot contact head office you cannot contact anyone at head office when you ask for head office phone number they do not reply they do not answer with a phone is only way of contacting is email which is extremely frustrating and time delaying and difficult

Only adding to the further frustration stress anxiety that could possibly mount with these type of issues obviously you can get on to customer service but again it is a frustrating process once you've got past that hurdle I was able to get them to send out a technician to my home to come and fix the switch on my couch The technician came and fixed his issue replaced it and gave me some great advice He said sometimes the USB switches can become faulty and they need to be replaced we did this secondary to this he advised me for safety I should go out and buy a power board surge protector for any connections to my couch the PowerPoint to avert avoid any further issues and be extra careful I did this straight away

I went straight down to the technological shop and bought the required device that I was told to buy I bought this from my couch and did this straight away As I knew I was going overseas the next week after the man had fixed my couch I turned the couch off at the PowerPoint even though I had the surge protector power board so again even though my couch was off unbelievably you couldn't imagine 6 weeks later I came back from my holiday turn my couch on assuming everything was okay I came back to my couch the next day to watch a movie and my them three seater couch are totally separate couch had fused out and not worked and at the same time the switch was burning I immediately contacted customer service going back and forth back and forth back and forth again I can't believe they actually charged me a service fee to send out the man for the same issue twice

Thing that this happened that they've charged me not only for the parts but for the service fee I was absolutely gobsmacked I even wrote on my email why you guys charging me for the same issue twice this is the third issue relating to heating and burning or a possible issue of a fire that seemed to be no real decent response about this

Moving forward the man came and fixed my couch found that the switch was burning not working replaced it and then I even showed him and explained to him that I bought the device as this was the same man who came last time might I say an extremely nice man a gentleman very kind very courteous and very helpful he even saw that I did what he requested him to do and totally understood from my perspective why I was concerned and worried I'm a person who wants to enjoy family time enjoy my furniture enjoy what I have and move forward in life but now being the third time of issues I'm extremely concerned that this couch has a possibility of really catching fire burning or causing serious injury to someone

What should one do when three times a fault happens three different things three issues all related to hot switches burning and faults and shorting out of furniture communication is terrible can't speak to a human on the phone with voice only via email and everything so delayed and frustrating right now my couch is turned off even though it's fixed I've turned everything off I'm back to square one I'm just using the couch as normal without using any electricity as of the concerns that I've followingly raised I don't expect anything further to happen about this even though I do but I can't believe I was charged for these little loan have the anxiety of what could possibly have in the future someone please help someone please advise what should I do next
