travel a reasonable amount for work, and the site supervisor Tony did really well at keeping us in the loop, sending photos of what was occurring on site while I was out of the country. He was flexible in allowing a private inspector onsite as well, and at making time for us to visit the site when we were able.

What has really stood out to us has been comments after handover. Yes, friends have said it looks really good, but more importantly to us has been tradesmen; when getting a battery and more solar installed the electricians commented on the quality of both the roof work and insulation, items that aren't going to be visible after the fact and might be tempting to cut corners on. Another tradesman commented on how he's only seen good quality work from Fowler when he's come to do installs.

If we were building again, we would absolutely pick Fowler -- very happy with the whole process.

came with some unique challenges, which I feel Fowler managed and addressed efficiently.

Was everything smooth sailing? No. But for us, what mattered most was that whenever an issue did arise, we felt heard, communication was open, and the issues were addressed.

A special shout-out to Piera Canto, our Client Relations Specialist. She has always been incredibly helpful, responds at lightning speed, and has supported us so much throughout the build. We’ve really appreciated having her in our corner.

And then there’s the person who arguably plays the biggest role in any build — the Site Supervisor.

We had three Site Supervisors throughout our build (which, from what we understand, isn’t uncommon in the industry), and we were incredibly lucky to have Steve Ryan as our third and final SS.

Steve has been an absolute star. He has driven our build through to the finish line with efficiency, incredible attention to detail and, most importantly, genuine care. We couldn’t have asked for a better person to see our home through to completion.

The quality and final presentation of our home are beautiful, and we are very pleased with what Fowler Homes has delivered.

The only reason I would give 4.9 rather than a full 5 is that the overall construction process took longer than originally expected and promised. Building a new home is a long journey, and the extended timeframe was sometimes frustrating.

However, looking at the completed home, we are very happy with the outcome and appreciate the work that Scott and the Fowler Homes team put into our house.

If you're looking for a builder for your dream home, beware of Fowler Homes. After putting in a deposit, the process dragged on for six months. Upon then not only did they fail to deliver on their promises regarding the base price and promotional value offered, but they also came back with a tender that was significantly overpriced compared to the… Read more

initial estimate (+10%). Many items relating to structures that were promised to be priced properly upon tender remained as provisional allowances, allowing them to further charge higher prices during the build process.

Throughout the process, Fowler Homes demonstrated a clear inability to deliver on the build brief which they initially said they could; then blaming us not providing them the details whereas we had proof all were shared at the very first meeting and via all follow up emails prior to estimate. Beware of sales manager Les Chaiban, initially he turned to blame us when we challenged the overpriced tender and items in our brief that were conveniently removed by Fowler in the tender. When we provided proof all were shared prior to the estimate and his promises which lured us into putting down the deposit, he stopped returning our calls and responding to our emails, making it impossible to resolve the issues.

Upon further checking, we found out there is no dispute resolution or complaint number where you can escalate issues, meaning there was no way to escalate this sales manager's behavior to senior management. This is clearly not a company with proper processes in place. I would not recommend Fowler Homes to anyone looking for a reliable and trustworthy builder.

The worst – The worst builder, site supervisor cannot read plans would use cheaper material even after you have signed a variation listing materials was gonna be used. Not recommending this builder – My experience with Fowler has been very negative. Sales staff and site manager were good. People in the head office are not helpful and neither responsive. unavailability of trades people, there is delay. As a building company I am sure Fowler has service level agreements with various sub-contractors. I also think that quality of some of the sub-contractors is very poor including those responsible for plumbing, gyprock, gutters and skirting. Due to the delay I had to pay repayments for additional 6 months. When I asked Fowler to compensate for the delay, I received an email saying that Fowler will refund $70 (seventy dollars) as part of liquidated damage. That $1 per day.

We are currently mid-construction with this company, and so far the entire experience has been incredibly smooth and enjoyable. From the very beginning, everything has been well-organised, transparent, and easy to navigate, which has made what could be a stressful process feel exciting instead. She was has been there for us every step of the way. She always takes the time to answer our questions and guide us through decisions. Even now, during the build, she continues to check in and offer support, which really shows her dedication and care for us.

Our builder, Mick, has also been outstanding. He is extremely accommodating, flexible, and reliable—nothing ever feels like too much trouble. He approaches everything with a positive attitude and consistently goes above and beyond to make sure things are done right. His communication has been excellent, and we feel confident knowing our home is in such capable hands.

Overall, we couldn’t be happier with our experience so far. The team has made this journey not only stress-free but genuinely enjoyable, and we’re really looking forward to seeing the final result. We would highly recommend them to anyone considering building their home.

My wife and I just completed the Pre-Construction stage. It's been quite a long journey, but we were guided by the helpful Client Relations Specialist who was ready to answer our calls and take actions. plan. When we questioned items in the variations, we got satisfactory responses and revisions. The CRS also helped us with many complexities along the way, such as negotiating contract extension, clarifying items in variations and explaining tasks that we as the homeowner owned (demolition, driveway approval, tree protection, etc.), and expediting our timeline. Thank you so much for the assistance. On potentials for improvement, this stage took longer than we expected due to various reasons, so we'd like to make a suggestion perhaps Fowler could, as a standard process, offer regular scheduled calls (15-minute Teams meetings, e.g.) with customers. This will definitely help speed up the process, keep customers updated, level-set expectations, and guide customers at the right times. I believe most customers only do homebuilding once or twice in their lifetime, they don't always know what questions to ask and when. So, timely and proactive meetings will win their hearts. We are happy that we're now starting the Construction stage. I hope the same level of service can continue to be maintained in Construction and the rest to the satisfaction of all parties. After building a house you want things to run smoothly once you move in, and with the minor issues we did find, Dylan has been very easy to deal with making the whole situation easy and stress free. He is very knowledgeable and efficient, and never misleads us on what needs to happen - the exact opposite. organised repairs for a range of issues including paint touch-ups, floorboard noise, door handles, carpet fixes, and even a persistent smell in the ensuite bathroom (which required the plumber to attend twice).

allocated a great customer service manager and architect who worked with me as a partner and I really had the feeling that they care about me and my project. Despite some silly council requirements and delays and plan iterations approval was ultimately received. The project spanned Covid, site challenges, the consistent rains of 2022 and obviously painful council requirements. Ultimately the project was completed with great quality and willingness to rectify small items has been great. If not for Fowler I am certain my project would have taken more time with immense cost over runs. Given the variations at tender were realistic and Fowler do not try to gouge their customers, the project came in at the cost I anticipated which is a huge win and relief. If another project ever presented, I will definitely approach Fowler. The team is easy to work with and communicate well and made what was a large project as easy as possible.

A special thanks to our site supervisor, Scott, and the contractors involved. Scott kept us informed about the progress throughout the build, promptly communicated any delays, and readily answered our phone calls. Scott has high expectations towards the quality of work delivered by their contractors. He also took extra steps to ensure most of our expectations were met before the handover.

We were disappointed with the level of attentiveness and professionalism from the House of Colour team. There was a lack of willingness to discuss clarification for selections of the staircase and stone cladding feature wall, which will be part of the major features of the house, even when we provided specific specifications and photos to them multiple times and asked to discuss in person, but it was ignored resulting in confusions and mistakes.

Overall, the experience and build quality are good with Fowler Homes. Our nominated independent property inspector also spoke well about the quality of the structural work. We will consider choosing Fowler again and do recommend them to our friends and family.
