I have Fuji F6200ri and have attempted to clean out the fuel system after it has sat for 3 years. The carb/ injector was very contaminated so I took it off and pulled it apart. When I removed the stepper motor a little spring came out and for the life of me I cannot see where it came from except that it looks like the throttle butterfly return spring. Anyone have any ideas?

Just went to start my Fuji no g was fine when turned off 3 months ago. Now no go any help would be greatly appreciated TIA

Lots have had the same prob, including me. Take the side cover off, and drain all the fuel from tank, hoses, filter, and metal fuel bulb at bottom of carby (this may need a good cleanout). Unfortunately unleaded fuel goes 'OFF' within a fairly short time, especially if in a warm or hot location, resulting in nasty smelling fuel (smells like paint stripper) and a gen that won't start. Refuel with fresh fuel (you may want to use fuel stabiliser). There may be some old fuel left in the injector, but should be ok after a couple of turns. Happened again to me 7 days ago when preparing for a planned power outage. All 3 of my gens had the same problem, and the same cure. All now work. Failing all else, check your oil level (gen has a cutout for 'Low Oil'), and you may want to check the plug, and that the plug lead is on properly. I've had a couple which were left loose. Sorry for the long story. Cheers.....Jok.

Don't we just love intermittent faults. The neighbour has a Fuji 6200ri and it sat in the shed for 6 years without fuel. When started with pull start no worries and all following starts with jumper battery OK too. There was no 240 volt output, so I checked all electrical connections, restarted and operated good mechanically and electrically with 240 volt output. Ran it for an hour with mild load. That was two days ago, but after replacing front and back panels and starting again yesterday, it would go great for a very short time before it would rev and the P indicator would read 'overw' and stop generating 240 volt. Reading many forums, this appears to be a common problem. Joke, you mention the voltage regulator, but where is that component situated and what does it look like?

My fuji micro has done 121hours working fine when put away last time a year ago got it out to use and put fresh fuel checked oil started ot and it reved its head off almost swit hed it off tried again same on inspection throttle solenoid not working even slowing motor down manually it wasnt working on 240v side but working fine on 12v side dismantled it checked every whire and connection all good started again same problem no 240v teied several dozen times to no success disconnected battery left in shed overnight bought a new generator that night a different brand went out to shed in the morning started it and it ran like new no problems eco normal switch working 240v working stopped it and started it a few times still working took it outside of shed hooked it up to my fridge freezer ran fine all day then swapped to radio ran for another few hours then got game switched it off and restarted it it hesitated nearly reved up high but then started running normal ran radio for a while turned it off on restart no 240v reving no eco or normal mode function tried a few times no doing what it did at first problem any clues on what it could be seems intermittent something isnt triggering the system to function reliably but if it does it will run properly all day long must be an electronic doohicky failing to tell it to charge / run normal any help would be awesome ok regards Phil

By the way its a fuji micro 6200ri

When the gen over-revs the over-voltage protection cuts in, so the 240V disappears. I also have one which won't run at lower speeds on ECO. Still trying to resolve this. Same as yours, it sometimes runs fine. To me, this would indicate an intermittent connection somewhere. still looking.

How come we don't get 240v power but get 12v power

what size battery does it take as I now have one but it is batteryless type model volts

Jok
Jok

Hi Chris. The battery is 12V, about 7Ah. Available from battery World for around $45. Bought one for my original gen which was the F6200. NOT fuel injected. Ran 12 hours plus on low load ECO. I can't remember the part number, but if you measure your battery space, you should be right. My original battery had small bolt-on terminals, but the replacement has spade terminals, so the connectors need replacing if that's the case with yours. I'll look now and check. More info coming..... Battery in my current F6200Ri is original:- Dynavolt 6-QF-5. 12V and 6Ah. Dimensions:-150mm (L) x 52mm(W) x 93mm(H) plus terminals on top approx 12mm(H). Many available from Google search around $30, including Jaycar ( Diamec brand 6.5Ah ). All the ones I saw on Google were spade terminal types, so a modification is indicated. ( On my original, I added heavy wires to two large terminals on top for jumper leads. For backup. ) ("Why do they call me a 'Gob-on a-Stick ???") (Talk too much!!!) Good Luck.......Jok

Jok

Chris, if you change to spade terminals, make sure to solder them to the wires and cover them with heatshrink tubing. I don't trust crimp terminals as they eventually fail due to vibration. I believe the battery is only used for starting, and powering the remote control cct. I need it for my bad back. P.S. I use mine when caravanning or camping, BUT when not using for an extended period, drain the fuel completely, as petrol loses it's octane level and goes OFF. Smells like paint stripper. Again.....Good Luck......Jok.

Does anyone know what is the replacement battery for the f6200Ri it says dynavolt 6-qf-? The last digit has rubbed off

Jok
Jok

Hi mate. Got one for mine from Battery World in Campbelltown NSW. Take your old one with you. Just have to find one that fits the storage hole. Costs about $43. Different terminals to my old ones, but just cut and re-terminate the cables. I also installed cables and terminals on top of the gen down to the battery at the same time, so I can use jumper wires from my car if necessary to start the gen, or charge the battery if necessary. (Bad back, so I don't like pull-starting). Also available on eBay, but you need the right measurements (and price). Cheers.....Jok.

6-qf-5. If you need to use your generator regularly this battery will suffice but if you need it once a month or longer you need to consider a LiFePo4 ie lithium iron phosphate. VERY safe and can sit idle for up to a year without charging.

My Fuji Micro has done only 8 hours, it starts, runs, but doesn't produce ac power. It does produce 12 v dc power and it does not idle , but high revs and does not idle back

Robert J W.
Robert J W.

Is the eco switch on? Does it stop with the key? If it revs too high when started the inverter will cease ac output because of over voltage probably from faulty signal from the voltage regulator. Also, will it start with the remote?

V..ery W..orried

ECO switch is ON, It stops with the key and it will start with the remote

if u replace old petrol because it looked like lacquar, and there is no fuel getting into the carb, should u flush the whole line,as when i pump it,no fuel is going into the carb

Robert J W.
Robert J W.

Empty tank and use metholated spirits (hydrocarbon) to flush through checking that the fuel tap and filter are clear to the injector pipe which should be removed. Check primer pump bulb is ok when pumping . Good luck

Jok

Bruce, The 6200RI version is fuel injected, not normal carburettor like the older model 6200. Definitely replace all fuel. Clean or replace the fuel filter, and ensure fuel is coming through from the tank and tap to the filter. Clean the reservoir at the bottom of the inlet/carby for the injector, and if necessary, the injector and fuel pump. My habit is to turn the fuel off while the unit is still running, so all internal fuel is used, and the unit is ready for a clean start next time I need it. If the fuel smells funny like paint stripper (it probably won't start), then drain it immediately and fuel-up with fresh fuel. I've had this smelly old-fuel problem with whipper-snipper, mower, and chainsaw. Petrol loses it's octane rating fairly quickly when older, so fresh is best. Good luck

I am after a key start assembly to suite 6200Ri

Jok
Jok

Hi Vern. I don't know for sure, but I did see a keystart setup available on eBay at one stage when looking for generator parts. You'll also need an electric starter motor, solenoid, and a battery. Battery available from 'Battery World' at around $40 -$45. Probably cheaper if you need a full install, to buy a F6200Ri. If just the keystart assembly is needed, I'll look around and see if I can find it again. Have a vague memory that it was available on a US generator site. Cheers and good luck.......Jok. 09JAN2021

I need to replace the fuel line from the primer pump to the diaphragm. Do i need a specific part or can i just replace it with generic fuel line. Its has a spring in it at the primer bulb end.

If fuel tank cap is broken will the pressurised cause fuel to spurt out of the carby?

John Doyle
John Doyle

Hi Maureen , I haven't encountered that problem with any of my Fuji Micros before but it sounds to me like the float level needle is not seating properly . Hope this helps, cheers .

Jok
Jok

No it shouldn't. As above by John, it may be caused by needle not seated properly by float due to dirt or hair inside. The F6200Ri is actually fuel injected, so I'm not certain of the internal layout of the carby, or where the fuel might escape. Good luck......Jok. (Sorry for delay in answering. Have been caravanning with no internet.)
