I find all previous “glowing” review's written on this site about this particular company very, VERY dubious. ELECTRICAL and the Bunnings fixtures and fittings that they put into our upgraded package. They have zero concern or respect for you as their valued customer or your future dream home. They have no shame, integrity, no sense of guilt, not a scrap of professionalism, attention to detail and I can safely say there is no pride in their product.!!! If I was them, or even working for them I would be mortally ashamed and embarrassed for the product they supply and with the lack of respect, ethics and morals in which it is delivered. The list of things that was wrong with this place when we first moved in was endless. Two and a half years later and the list is three times longer. You as a consumer deserve so much better than this. This is your money and your biggest investment, if you want something really beautiful and done with honesty, precision and pride then you need to swipe left immediately!!! I have reported them twice and I really hope others who have had the same misfortune have done the same!!! We need to stand our ground and put a stop to people like this who inflict greed and corruption onto their fellow man !!!! These people are exactly what is so wrong with the world today!

Pre build time felt really slow mainly due to council hold ups, meaning a change in the facade and an unexpected significant tree - strongly recommend if your facade is slightly different from the “norm” running it past council (although again different councillors, subjectively different thoughts). Our Building Supervisor is passionate about ensuring the job is done properly, his knowledge is invaluable. The Manager of this group is a genuine person who has pride in what he does and this reflects in the team he has working with him. The same transparency, integrity, and care they bring as owners is clearly ingrained throughout their entire team. There was never any pressure to upgrade or push beyond our budget just genuine guidance and a clear focus on what was best for us and our build.
Rachel guided us through the early stages and made the entire process feel clear and manageable from day one. She answered every question with patience, provided honest guidance, and even helped us get ahead early by pointing us in the right direction with suppliers. Rachel also played a big role in making the selections process feel seamless and stress-free, helping everything come together exactly how we envisioned.
Bel was amazing throughout the selections process. Communication was always prompt, clear, and reassuring, and any questions or variations were handled quickly often within 1–2 business days. She made what could have been an overwhelming stage feel organised, calm, and enjoyable, with no pressure to upgrade or go beyond our budget just honest advice and genuine care for getting the best outcome for us.

One thing that would be nice would be during the colour selection process if there could have been some computer aided design website, where you could see all of the colour selections put together on the inside and outside of the house. Would have made colour selections a lot easier to choose.
Over all We are very impressed with the worksmanship and quality of the build. Would definitely recommend them to anyone wanting to start a new build and would have no doubts using Gj Gardner again if I were to build again in the future.

GJ also welcomed our independent inspector, who, for his first inspection (roof on and walls in) rated the build as excellent. We are very happy with everything that GJ has done for us, from the clean site (no builders rubbish laying around) to the online customer portal where we can access every document (plan, approval, and variation).

We’ve now been handed the keys, but the house still has unfinished issues, and we’re getting no clear response on when these will be addressed. THE CLEANERS ONLY DID A 60% CLEAN BEFORE HAND-OVER.
What’s pushed us over the edge is the fact that we had to personally contact EastWaste to remove the skip bin that had been sitting in our driveway for three weeks after handover. That’s not just poor service, it’s disrespectful when spending so much and trusting them to do the right thing by their customers.
We’re absolutely fed up with the lack of communication, poor project management, and the burden being pushed back onto us after everything we’ve already endured. For a company that promises a smooth experience, this has been anything but.
Not impressed. Not happy. Would not recommend.

activities for our kids so they don't get bored. We got all the relevant encumbrance and council approvals in under 4 months. Our construction started in April 2024, and now(June 2024) we are almost at lockup. We usually receive a weekly update of what's been done and what's going to be done the following week from our site supervisor, James. Overall, we have been very happy throughout the process and the team has been top notch and supportive.

Our site supervisor Ben immediately had us feeing at ease for our construction phase. He was attentive, friendly and kept us in the loop anytime there was progress for us to be aware of. Any issues were immediately rectified by Ben and/or Steve who both had a strong customer service focus and genuinely wanted to build us the best home possible. The final outcome is a beautiful home nestled among the gum trees. The quality of work completed is to a high standard you don’t get with a volume builder. 2020, even with the pandemic the approvals went smoothly Debra made sure that engineering work and council approvals were done on time, we got the build started somewhere in June 2020 and completed in Dec2020, Stephen made sure all the issues were fixed before the property was rented out.
