Will never build in WA again – My partner signed her contract 3 years ago with go homes. We asked about delays and they said there would be none. It has been 3 years. 3 years and still not at lockup yet. I have currently built 4 houses in Port Macquarie NSW in the past 3 years which are all rented out, and hers still isnt even at lockup. It has been so long that her original… Read more

choices for benchtops and other chosen items have been discontinued. Imagine paying a mortgage on building/construction rates for something that has taken 3 years to build and can't be rented out. This mob is a joke. Getting in contact is hard enough as it is with no explanation or ownership of why the builds taken so long. Save yourself heartbreak and stress- don't build with Go Homes.

House condition after only 3.5 years – It's been 3.5 years since my house was completed with Go Homes and I've had: - burst pipes and water leaking from the roof into the meter box - water leaking into the pantry - grout issue in the bathroom Regretting building with Go Homes now as its apparent the quality of the build is not good and does not last long. Show details

Depressed – We have signed contract in December 2020 and that time they assured us 14 months build time before we signed the contract and now only completed brickwork so far. Nearly going to be three years on and we are paying rent, mortgage and bills for two properties one that renting and so frustrated. Only answer from BGC is waiting for trade. How long ???? Show details

Much delayed construction – The sales order for the construction was signed in Jan 2021. Late pre-construction start - Site work started in Aug 2022. Then, 10 months wait for BGC to assign bricklayer. Bricklaying completed in Jul 2022. Then 1-2 months to wait for timber, then latest 1-2 months wait for roof carpenter. Bad planning and project management. Interest rate is… Read more

Wish could give zero star – We signed in mid June 2020 and Sales rep told us 8-10 months we will have house ready. wait, wait and wait. We nominated own Bricklayer in return they delayed our Build and send us price rise plus we paid Bricklayer out of pocket as they pay less than the market rates as a First home Buyer we were not aware of all of this now it's been over 24 months since this all started and House is Locked since last two months and still same excuses material and trade shortage. We have been very patient but now we are very close to go broke due to financial and mental stress this Build has caused us meanwhile all other houses nearby started with us have been built over a year ago. Pros and cons to with BGC are:

Pro's: As the biggest Builder of WA they will never go broke as it's also mentioned in their emails they send regularly to clients.

Con's: They will pass on price rise however delays caused by them. They will ask you to find your own trade and you pay out of pocket and they will still charge you more for that.

They will keep on delaying your build and blaming Covid meanwhile other Builders are smoothly finishing houses.

I won't suggest anyone to Build with GO Homes or any other BGC Companies.

House of horrors – Well it took 10 months for the slab down the bricklayer started 5 weeks ago as he was laying the bricks I mentioned about the flashing /damp course termite barrier , I also emailed Go Homes about it but never had a reply. Now they are cutting the bricks out of the bottom row of a 31 course high wall 24 meters long. This is absolutely… Read more

heartbreaking, The garage door was to low which has been rectified they haven’t installed the tie down rods in the garage. I have had to go to a building inspector now to get a report 5 weeks the bricklayer has been here and we haven’t got half of a 3x2 on a cottage block built yet. I can only warn you to stay well away from this bunch of thieves $285.000 of heart breaking misery an update they are going to pull the wall down we checked the other side the damp course is 6 courses high so the half a house that’s taken 5 weeks to build half of that half is now going to be pulled down, they put all the bricks back in but only put the flashing at the ends were you can see it somebody broke holes in the wall guess what no flashing. This company has cost us thousands and they don’t give a crap /30th June We will hand you over a beautiful house they told me that went to the tip well it doesn’t get any better I paid for an upgrade to the 3 toilets but now they are not available any more so I have to accept the toilets they are providing I’ve been told they are the standard ones but I paid for the upgrade but won’t get a credit. 24 July well they built the two pillars on the front of the house at 390mm then they realised that they should be 490mm so they wrapped another skin of bricks on them so when it gets rendered it will crack not only that but they are miles out of square check photos.we thought when we got to construction it would be easier but no the greed driven salesman with his lies deception and incompetence has cost us thousands .My neighbour kindly let this lot remove the fence and put up a temporary one as we are building on the boundary SIX MONTHS AGO I can understand why he is not impressed every time the wind gets up it’s flapping and banging, But does GO Homes care I don’t think so

Extremely painful experience with Go Homes – I have been a loyal customer of Go Homes and has built 5 times and made 2 referrals. However, I am extremely disappointed with the company. I have been waiting for the landscaping (part of the package) to be completed. I have multiple answers from different Go Homes employees for the start date of landscaping: - Contract Admin [Name Removed]-… Read more

landscaping to start on 31st May - reply from the Go Homes Portal (Customer care) - 4th of June - reply from the supervisor that landscaping will start early June

Finally Go Homes has informed us that the landscaping will be done on 18th June. However, on 21st June, my property manager told me nothing has been done yet again. I was devastated by all these lies after lies. I have been communicating with Go Homes since 10 June on this issue.

The whole landscaping is poorly organised and the communication has been horrible. Nobody has even bothered to update us that the landscaping date is not done. The delay is causing many issues to me including my future tenant has to choose another place to live as the place is not ready. I am losing rental income every week. I desperately need help!!!

Look at the images, they look like rubbish dump rather than a newly built home!

Furthermore quoting Construction Admin from Go Homes - The landscaping is not going to stop anyone from moving into the house. Unless she is living in the house, I am not sure why she is making such kind of remarks. This kind of remark is totally insenstive and unwarranted.

Brickmakers), housewarming gift from Go Homes when we got our keys, upcoming free 6-month maintenance and 25-year building warranty! We moved in weeks before Christmas, couldn’t be happier!

Cons: Minor electrical issues which left a wall with some accidental damage when they sent some tradies to fix them, hope they sort it out soon.

Special mention: Thanks to Mr. Neil Boyd for being honest, considerate and generous of his time. Go Homes is lucky to have him represent their company and I say this with utmost sincerity. Thank you to Ms, Joan from Crosby Tiles for being so helpful. You’re a godsend. Thanks to Jim, our trusty building supervisor for making sure everything looked spotless before our move. And for the tradies who literally built our home, thank you so much for a job well done! We’re going to enjoy our first Christmas in our new home because of you all! We’re feel very lucky for choosing Go Homes as our builder!

Very Upset - Poor (NO) Communication, No Interest or Care – My original consultant was fantastic. He was responsive, helpful, and bent over backwards to help me to design the house I wanted. It was months to get quotes back, or an answer to questions. Over… Read more

6 months AFTER my pre-start meeting, my build moved into 'construction'.

I was assured that materials and bricklayers would be available by the time my pad was laid. I understand that there are issues, and accept that that is part of the building process, but what makes this worse, is that I had to chase my consultant to find out what was happening every 4 weeks as no updates were provided. I wasn't even notified as to when my pad was being laid (an exciting step that I would have like to be there for!). I have since been asking for updates since my pad was laid at the end of August (10 weeks ago), and all I've been told is that my 'construction rep' cannot give me any information.

Having emailed through the portal help desk this time, I have now been told that it is 6+ months before a bricklayer will be assigned to my build. I'm am extremely upset - This isn't something that JUST happened - you can't tell me that you didn't know this when my pad was laid.

Communication is SHOCKING. Had I been advised about this months ago - I would not be as angry and disappointed as I am.

COMMUNICATION IS EVERYTHING! COME ON PEOPLE!

They are ruining lives – We started the process in September 2021, our sales consultant was good. It went downhill from there. Pre start was delayed. So this was blamed on the lengthy delays in pre start. However… Read more

surely someone was holding her accountable for completing her work. Slab went down 5 months ago - which was 6 months after pre start then nothing I recieved a voucher offering $1000 off pre start, then was told it was a mistake I didnt qualify. Multiple excuses for extensive delays around covid shortage of tradies etc, however all houses in our area not being built by Go Homes are being completed on time. This is costing us ALOT with interest rates going up every month and high rent on top. We have been promised bricks being started this month but even then each stage of the process is likely to have similar delays - we watch a go homes house in our area and it has been at a standstill for months. Seriously concerned about what this is going to do to us financially

Don't Like to do Reviews but – I don't like to do reviews but apparently, there is a chance of winning some of the money that Go Homes added to my contract 12 months after signing contracts, so here goes... stages. The construction started and then stopped for months. It is January 2021 and friends who started their building journey, with other builders well after I did, are now moving into their homes while I have been hit with a notice of extension to time of completion to February 2023. Furthermore, the contract price was increased 12 months after contracts and even though I can't afford the increase, I am too far in and have no choice but to pay. Apparently, this has happened to a lot of Go Homes customers. I don't know if the extra money that the company will make by increasing prices is worth the negative sentiment felt by customers or the subsequent recommendations that they might make to friends, family, acquaintances, business partners, church members, international communities etc that the customers might belong to later when the building industry cools down.

I have built a couple of homes in my time but none has taken more than a year in construction, this one might take twice as long, and none had price increases after contract signing when you are locked in and have no choices. But anyway, we are living in interesting times.

So, I hope I win something for this review because I certainly cannot afford the price increase or the extended stay with friends where my family is currently boarding.

And sent to go homes, who then sent another supervisor out. Only for him to say why are they wasting my time the kitchen needs replaced. Still nothing 7 months on. Then 5 months ago our outdoor feature tile which we paid extra 1000s of $ for fell off smashing the bellow tiles. They sent another inspector out who said it needs fixed!! (No really!!) make you go Bankrupt.

We started our First Home Build Process with GO Homes back in mid 2020 without knowing that this Company is the part of BGC Housing Group. Now it's almost 2 years and still nowhere close to Lockup.I share both Pros and Cons of Building with this Company.

Pros: Unbeatable Price. Premium Inclusions.

(By the time they Build your house which will be over 2 years those Pros will be turned into Cons with great Loss)

Cons: Constant delays in getting updates. Extension of Contract time-frame to over 400 working days which is almost 2 years. Price rise after signing Fixed Price Contract however delays caused by the Builder. Frequent change of Supervisors. Unprofessional staff and Construction team making mistakes due to not capable of reading Plans properly which then caused more delays to your Build.

Conclusion:

When you go to their Display homes never sign anything with their Sales team. They will promise you the world but once you have signed they don't wanna know about the problems you are facing due to the poor performance of their Company.

I am stuck at roof stage since October Last year and only been able to pass the Brick stage was by nominating my own Brickie which was a nightmare to find as nobody wants to work for BGC. It's almost 5 months now and when I ask for update from my Construction Consultant the only thing I get is constant lies and false update

All the other Houses in our Neighbourhood have been Built or very close to completion. We even tried to spoke to the GM of this Company and he is as useless as the rest of the staff . In simple they don't care and their only concern is to keep signing more and more new client's so that they could make more money by delaying the job and using the excuses to hit you with price rise.

My friends built with other Companies and signed after me have got the keys since last year or very close to completion while I have just received extension of Contract time-frame for another 161 working days so the total is 454 working days which is almost 2 years to Build a single storey House. You can only imagine how useless this Company would be and they still keep on singing up new Clients.Their Excuse is COVID however they purposely signed thousands of Contracts in 2020 during COVID.

I can only wish if I could reverse this and would have stayed away from BGC-GO homes like many other people must be wishing as they are also trending on Facebook Shonky Builder's Page.I don't know how many more sleepless nights I will have until this Build will be completed.
