To make matters worse, the same property was valued at 10% higher by another bank just two months ago, which makes their figure even more questionable and difficult to take seriously.
Even more concerning, they refused to share basic details about the evaluator - no name, no company, no transparency whatsoever. It felt completely dismissive, like my concerns didn’t matter at all.
This entire process dragged on for over a month, wasting a huge amount of my time with zero accountability on their end. For something as important as property valuation, this level of service is unacceptable.
Based on this experience, I would not recommend this bank to anyone unless you want a credit log for nothing

missed a payment, and didn't pause the payments like many people did during covid. Zero balance on credit cards. Money saved. Money invested. Etc.
People Dealt with two different "loan specialists". The first took several days to reply to emails and never answered the phone. The second was very responsive, and moderately rude.
Documents I had to provide 6 rounds of documents, totalling more than 57, not including the number of emails, SMS and phone calls. Also, they do not provide or accept a safer way of sharing the documents (e.g. OneDrive, Google Drive, or internal solution). You have to send everything via email "because the system scans emails". Since I provided only AES-256 encrypted, password-protected files, there's no way "the system" could scan the contents of the files...
Accountant My accountant had to provide a lot of documents from my company, which cost him time (when they're busy doing tax returns), and cost me money to get them to work on it.
Summary Waste of time and money. Avoid!

Great service from the Greater – I have been with the Greater Bank since 2001. They have always been friendly and quick to answer any enquiries I have had. When our account had been hacked. documentation (over a dozen transaction listings, statements, you name it), had someone come in physically to value my property and had them take property photos without asking me, only to be told AFTER the credit check and valuation that they don't refinance studio apartments. Noting that this is a residential studio.
Why waste all the time and my credit score when this could've been realised in the phone call?
BTW average wait times to speak to their internal home lending team is 20-40mins. Since they don't accept external brokers.
Will not be calling again due to absolute waste of time.

'Infuriating' sums up my interactions. Worse than overseas call centres – 'Infuriating' sums up my experience dealing with customer service representatives from Greater Bank. Common sense simply does not prevail. Closed all my accounts with them 2.5 years ago because of their inability to provide anything beyond generic responses. Absolutely pathetic – Can't activate my card because I opened account online, need to go into branch to show my ID that I have already provided online. So why provide the option of opening an account online when you need to be living near a branch to verify documents. I can't get cash out and use my card now for 4 days because of public holidays.
