What year was it discontinued
I have been looking for a 2nd mower for slashing 2 acres of paddock grass. I use a Hasqvana rt316 on detailed area lawns around the house. I have heard great reviews on older Greenfields & a mechanic said to me they have gone a bit off in recent years with Chinese manufacturing. Few stories on this page support that trend. I just want a 2nd mower at reasonable price because because reading these reviews I am scared off buying new. You read them?
I have a greenfield 34in fastcut and Australia built about 6years old now,l had nothing but trouble with it from brand new throwing belts off cutting deck and other problems as well, when it was under warranty the dealership had it in shop more times than l can remember, put new cutting belt on 2 hours of mowing throw belt off or break belt back to shop and am l only cutting from yard lawn not long grass but keeps doing the same thing throwing or breaking belts,in end mower shop could not work problem out and said not fixing anymore so l am stuck with a lemon
All tractors have same problem which is due to height cutting selector. They are faulty designs pulley on main drive does not follow cutting plate level pulley when selecting cut, then belt travels side wise slowly wearing belt on side causing it to break or fall off from pulley. When I wanted to buy mower I started from my grass which is Palmetto recommended height cut for it is 65mm.Then I vent around dealers to measure level from main pulley to blade plate pulley greenfield 34" was spot on level.now 10 years old twin Vanguard engine 18hp no problem since, domestic use 50 hours on clock.Don't use cut height leave it on level with blade plate pulley and your never have problem, except your Mrs complaining about grass to high.Only complain I had was exhaust flaps were pointing down leaving it idle started fire on grass.I fitted guard plate and bend exhaust flaps upwards.
I have a Greenfield 19/14 DLX Mower I want to engage the blades. The Blade engagement lever doesn't do anything, just slides along and locks in but nothing moves, the belt just remains slack. Have I lost a spring or something.

Hi- how do you remove the chained rear wheel of a Greenfield with a single nut?
Have the Kawasaki twin and getting a fuel leak near pump at operating revs, could not detect leak in workshop.
Why does the drive tyres rub on the inside of the guard right side and rub on the chain adjuster roller bearing on the left.
Sounds like it was assembled incorrectly, get it corrected by the dealer you bought it from, if you bought it second hand and are not mechanically able to correct it yourself you will probably be left with no option but to go to a dealer, good luck with that !!!!!
How do you remove the front wheel
Undo grub screw with an Allen key
Mower stops going forward, but will still reverse. What is the problem.
Maybe the cork clutch pad is worn out or detached itself from the flywheel. (Under the seat) Perhaps even make sure that the drive belt hasn't turned onto its wrong side as it can/will make it slip. Usually a stick or something gets thrown into the pulleys and flips the belt over.
how many cutting blades should a Fast cut 34 have. I thought it had 4 and after my local dealer serviced it and changed the blades they only fitted 2. Can someone help my as I will be going back to the dealer. It cost $470.00 for a service with a few parts included.
I use 4
I believe 4 blades is for easy going mulch type mowing and 2 blades when the grass might get away longer or even 6 ft high stuff. I find 2 blades, with the side chute lifted mostly(helps spread cuttings, al la mulch), gives me a great looking lawn compared to how it looked with tractor and slasher.
If you are at all handy with tools service your own mower. I worked out in 10 years I could buy another one for the money spent at mower shop servicing. One of main reasons of me buying this mower is they easy to work on.
I agree with Brewsterly. 2 is perfectly fine on a lawn or normal use. 4 blades are just wasting your money and the extra 2 blades raise the noise level as well. Change the blades etc yourself. A 17mm spanner is all that is required.
Thanks for your informing responses. I will do as you have indicated. Already bought parts for oil, fuel and air filters and oil. Will change blades as needed and with the 17mm spanner. Good tips.
Have any users - or a dealer come to that - got any thoughts or comments on the 'dozer blade that can be fitted to the mower?
IMO grader blades are for real tractors not ride on mowers, not enough power or weight. Using a mower for this purpose will most likely result in something failing or breaking.
Thanks Nick. Obviously I'm not intending to do major earthworks with it, but I do have a lot of woodchips to spread, and a few holes that need loose dirt pushed into them. With my bad back it's a cheaper option than, say, a Dingo
Hi guys, Father in law gave me what I assume is a 2010 19.5 hp Fastcut 34. Numerous issues with starting over the last few weeks, all rectified with trickle charging the battery and playing with the trottle. Now it won't turn over at all and I can hear a single clunk under the seat (assuming solenoid?) Anyone have this issue before? Thanks in advance
