Premium care absolutely necessary for a Frenchie
I decided to get the premium care about 2 years for my Frenchie, Meeko, and it has been fantastic. She is definitely a high maintenance dog, but the Guide Dogs pet insurance has helped out immensely!
Signing up initially was super easy and the consultant that I spoke to was very helpful and lovely to deal with. The vets that I have been to have lodged the claims for me and the reimbursements have been quick and easy.
Have been with your insurance company for about a year, never had a problem, very prompt response, easy to submit claims via phone & our vet makes it even easier by doing it online after the consultation.
Don't Cover Your Pet With Guide Dogs Pet Insurance. Ethically Compromised, Total Lack Of Transparency And Horrible Value.
Absolutely awful experience ranging from the lack of transparency around their 'cooling off period' to customer service experience. Guide dogs will happily take your money and then waste your time making you contact them over 7 times to have them deny your claim. Be warned, accidental injury only refers to snake bites and car accidents. anything else is seen as a pre existing illness. So if anything accidental happens to your pet they will claim that during this period it is not classified as an accident. But they won't be transparent about thi...s when they're sweet talking you to sign up. And conveniently will only provide you a PDS after you've signed up and they've taken your money. Not to mention the fact that I paid for Premium cover, so the best this insurance agency has to offer, and they will class swallowing a corn cob as an un claimable existing illness. There is absolutely no logic in that except to make money off people who actually have good faith that their animal will be covered paying top dollar for your insurance. I requested to be called several times regarding this issue and only ever received emails, so on top of feeling completely misinformed and taken financially advantage of, Guide Dogs refuse to even speak with me about my complaints unless I harassed them with phone calls. No refund given for the money they took from me knowing they would not cover any accidental injury. No real explanation as to why swallowing a corn cob is considered an existing illness during the waiting period, but an accident after the waiting period. No ethical explanation for leading customers to believe that their pet is receiving the best of the best cover (how you market your premium insurance cover) and then claims get rejected WHILE they're taking your money for insurance. So incredibly wrong and I cannot warn people enough to stay away from Guide dogs pet insurance if you want piece of mind about you cover and a good experience. Would rate zero stars if I could. Be very careful with this bunch. Incredibly sneaky and just out to make a quick dollar off you and your poor pets. Stay away.
Fantastic Australian Team Sign You Up! - All other Communication is with Philliphines
1. Did Alot of research and chose GD as I wanted to support the Guide Dogs in Australia themselves.
2. Aus Team are fantastic to communicate with, they explain things, they take the time, they are wonderful.
3. Put in my first Claim. Was treated by the Philippines staff as if I was taking their money.
4. Cannot get in touch with Australian staff again, the Phill staff will not transfer back to Australia even when Australia have said "ask them to transfer back to Oz".
5. Phill staff do not call back regarding queries - so I had to call - ...
Having just claimed for my dog crucial ligament surgery I was disappointed in the limit of financial cover.
However this aside I her process of claiming was reasonable simple.
The only challenge was in relation to submitting the Vet’s consultation notes which are note given to me and had to be sent separately by the vet clinic.
Worst insurance claim experience of our life!
We pay for premium pet care for our Golden Retriever Puppy, over $70 a month. She had recently been diagnosed with a heart murmur and needed to see a specialist. Being a condition of her heart and knowing we had been paying premium pet care since May we booked her in as soon as we could to be reviewed in case she needed surgery or medication. When submitting our claim we were told we were not covered as we were 1 day ahead of our waiting period, from when the vets first noticed her heart murmur (that's it "1" day). When calling the Guide Dog's ...to query, their exact words were "it's too bad". Read the product disclosures carefully and wrap your pet in cotton wool. God forbid something goes wrong. Pet insurance has been the biggest waste of money in my life so far. The thing that makes my blood boil more is I even recommended Guide dogs pet insurance to my father in law whom also signed up to our same plan. We will be telling him of the poor customer experience we have received by the Guide Dogs. You just take take take, and only give back to your own charities, not your customers who were going to be loyal.
Fantastic help by Hayley and well laid out form
We have just signed up to Guide Dogs Pet Insurance and found that Hayley explained everything well to us and was lovely mannered and helpful over the phone. NOthing was a problem.
Have just joined so no claims yet. I did quite a bit of research online and this one was the best value for me. Easy to join over phone with helpful staff member who answered all my questions.
Happy about rebate but effort the claim took on my behalf due to misunderstanding of my claim
Happy with value and the rebate received.
Unfortuneately had issues with a second claim as I kept getting emails saying it was a duplication ( 2 x different Vet Clinics-1 x after hours) even after I called regarding the matter. I persisted and luckily someone at the other end agreed and understood the claim.
I have had this Insurance close to two years for my girl.
Easy process and comparatively the best % and total amount per year.
Good value and received a month free :)
First dog and first time with insurance -- hope never to need to make a claim, but nice to have the peace of mind.
My experience with Guide Dog insurance
This policy is good value for money and claims were paid quickly. I changed to this company 20 months ago. Unfortunately the salesperson who sold me the policy gave me inaccurate information which has caused me much upset in applying for claims.
I would recommend coverage with Guide Dog insurance.
great but some problems with renewal
My police was great value
but due to my dog having a ligament problem the renewal has a limit on ligament damage i find this unacceptable and i am currently looking for a new insurer only because of this restriction i don't believe my dog will have any more problems but with this limit it becomes unacceptable
I am glad we have it
It is a good value and very easy to set up. I had the insurance as soon as get my puppy last year. The claim was super easy to lodge and fast approval and payment.
I am not getting my bills refunded?
My cat is in a bad way , the couple of weeks I have taken her to vet, they have lodged my my bills payment but I have nit got refunded?
Very difficult to be understood by Philippino operators
It took three phone calls and repeated misunderstanding of my claim before it was resolved. I suggest that this insurer use Australian based call centre. It took three calls and very long wait times to sort out my problem.
Easy Claims Process, Fast settlement
This was my first claim and I found the process very easy and the claims approval and payment was prompt. So far I’m very happy with the policy and service.
So far Policy is a good value and my claim was resolve very quickly! We are with insurance for 19 month and that was our first claim for our Ziggy treatment!
Been with Guide dogs over 12 months easy to set up and claim
Found them very helpful over the phone
Easy payment system with options of fortnightly payments so no lump sums to pay
Outstanding customer service
Can’t praise this company enough, everything is just so easy
Well done and thank you Guide dogs pet insurance, truly appreciate a company that makes things easy for the consumer and you most certainly do
Good cover with an inexpensive premium price. Great staff in the call centre.
Offers good cover with a few exclusions but for the monthly premium, which is very reasonable, it’s peace of mind knowing my puppy is covered should something happen to him.
I found the staff that assisted me to sign up to be outstanding. Our puppy was arriving a couple of weeks after I got the initial quote. The staff member followed up and called me the day before my puppy’s arrival to set the policy up. He used my puppy’s name and genuinely showed interest and shared my excitement for my puppy coming home.
