In my opinion, this points to a serious design weakness. A fridge should withstand everyday use without broken wiring, expensive repairs and electrical safety concerns.
Based on my experience, I would avoid this fridge. Save yourself the repair bills, disruption and risk of spoiled food.

Never buy another Haier product – After 4 years it has died. The freezer works perfectly, but the fridge (fresh food) section has an issue where the coil evaporator in the freezer compartment ices up. A quick fix is to defrost the coil in the freezer section with a hairdryer, and the fridge will work for about 5 days before the issue recurs. Great! Almost a perfect fridge. Butter compartment doors will break, water dispensor is unnecessary – A suprisingly good french door fridge for the $1,471 paid in Feb 24 . freezer compartment with its one deep and two shallow draws, the door display and controls for temperature, the two compartment with one dedicated crisper and one beverage/meat drawer. Don't try and swap them, the veges and salads will be frozen! Very, very good in keeping all foods esp. the crisper compartments. Downsides, only two 1) the doors on the top door shelves with their own doors (typically designated for buttter) will enivitably break the door or hinge of the compartment as the slightest enthusiasm in opening and closing the door will have you crunching them on the other door. 2) Having previously owned a fridge with a plumbed in water dispensor, this halfway of a manually topped up but fully integrated reservoir is the worst of both worlds. Better to have had either a plumbed in unit or the shelving the reservoir robs you of.

total electrical failure just outside of warranty – Similar issues as others. Multiple electrical board issues. Now total failure at 2 years and 9 months, so outside of manufactures warranty. Smaller issues with poor seal quality but didn't affect the operation other than maybe costing a few extra dollars per quarter for compressor motor run time. Very bad service from Good Guys and low quality product – Bought it less than three years. The fridge section stops working, but the freezer is still working. Remove frost in the freezer many times, just working for one week and has to defrost again to make it working again. Do not buy – Bought this back in February 2021 and thought by it was a great buy, but 3 years on it died on me. inside the fridge section are pretty. The temperature is accurate and my food is kept perfectly well. My only issues are the water dispenser container is very small, and it could do with a light in the freezer section, but those issues aren’t important to me. Very Very happy with this Haier Fridge!
Do yourself a favour and purchase extended warranty with this one – We bought this from the Good Guys with a 5 year extended warranty. cooling. They decided on a replacement and 2 years and 1month later this replacement fridge has gone faulty. This time the fridge section is freezing everything. We had the service technician around who decided to replace the 2 doors and the control board. Both occasions faults were from a design floor of the wiring harness to the control panel. The factory harness is too tight, it runs from the top middle panel across to the top of the fridge door and then down to the panel. There's no slack in the harness and the wiring gets stressed every time the door opens and closes, eventually fracturing the wire inside. It really needs a recall notice and a longer harness installed.

Don't buy it! – I bought this fridge and within a year it kept turning itself off and on (major food safety issue), so the manufacturer replaced it. Now just on 2 years later, all contents are warm and melted. Apparently the warranty is only 2 years from the original fridge, not the replacement, so here we are having to fork out for a new fridge after less than 3 years. Secondly, around the two year mark the fridge is now freezing everything spontaneously. Usually occurs in the fruit and veg crispers (resulting in spoilt fresh produce obviously). Only way to fix it is turn it off at the power. Finally, it has turned off for no reason twice now, once again, only fixed by turning it off at the power.
Going to have to get repaired professionally. Not sure of pricing of this yet, but looking around it doesn't look good.
Do not buy this fridge. I'm not the only one with these issues, and they seem to occur more often than they should.

mean-spirited, or both. For example, after weeks of waiting for the most recent repair, it took another month and multiple follow-ups to process a compensation claim for food spoilage. Every time I contacted them they asked for the same information I had already sent, including the name of the technician who provided the service (which they arranged!). And in the end they did not pay out my full claim due to some items "not requiring refrigeration" (despite the instructions on the packaging "refrigerate after opening") and, randomly, halving the value of condiments (why?). Sell me a poorly made fridge. Make me wait weeks for repairs. Make me chase up a claim repeatedly. Then come up with baffling excuses to leave me hundreds of dollars out of pocket due to food spoilage. This is the type of service you can expect if you buy ANY Haier or Fisher & Paykel appliance. Don't do it. I won't ever again.

panel was working, I ordered a replacement light online. Later on I found out that the entire fridge was not working, and everything in the freezer had melted.
I pulled the fridge out and switched it off and on again, and it all magically started working again. That was a weird one off.
Then this morning I smelled something awful, and found that the fridge had stopped working again, everything inside it was warm, and the raw chicken inside had gone bad. The fridge light still worked though.
I contacted their customer service line, and they pestered me for receipts and so on, even though I had registered the fridge on their website.
After quite some time, I was able to convince them that I needed someone to look at my fridge for a warranty repair. They said they don't have any service technicians in my area (Sydney!), and they would send it to a third party service provider.
I called the service provider a couple of times but they had no record of my warranty service request on their system.
I called Haier back and they quoted the same reference number, and said that they really sent it this time.
TLDR - it broke in under 18 months, even if they repair it under warranty, I won't be confident in this fridge ever again
Update: 3 weeks later, they sent a technician out twice. After the first time, we restocked the fridge, but it froze everything and destroyed more food, the second time the technician couldn't do anything. (Interestingly, the front panel, where you can set the temperature and so on died between the 2 visits).
They ended up sending a replacement, which we thought would be a happy ending to this story, but the delivery guys scratched up our floor in 2 different ways by dragging fridges across it instead of using a trolley.
Disappointing - 3 warranty repairs in 18months – Have just lodged by 3rd warranty repair in 18months. Very disappointing. First the fridge seal between the doors was not functioning. 2nd time it stopped cooling suddenly, 3rd time some problem again. Thought that at least buying a brand new fridge I wouldn't have issues but here I am.... very very dissapointing.
Worked well until fan broken and new part still yet to come, having lived without fridge for 2 weeks – We bought this fridge a year ago and it's still warranty. However, last month the fan was broken, fridge not cooling and the technician came and replaced a cord and said all good. No, it still didn't work. Lasted 2 weeks before it needed repair – Over all feature wise it is a good fridge. It only lasted two weeks before everything in the my zone drawer started freezing and the rest of the fridge wouldn’t stay cold. Failed within 1 month and at 2.5 months. Leaks water – Purchased from Appliances Online on 1 February 2021, and was leaking water on the newly restored floorboards by 17 February 2021. technician attended on 23 April 2021 and defrosted again and this time installed a heating element. They were supposed to provide a report not repair. I still want to return it, as this fridge has been a complete disaster.
Was originally prepared to replace with the equivalent Fisher & Paykel, and pay the $1k price difference, but after this experience I just want a refund. Will probably replace with a completely different brand (not owned by Haier).
Terrible !! broke after 3 months – purchased the fridge on 10 Nov 2020 from Jb Hifi. Very disappointed – Bought this fridge 2 years ago. In the past month when you opened the left door it would knock the power out in the house. Waited 2 weeks to get it fixed. Amazing – I have been using for 5 months, all what I can say is, it's perfect for my family. I don't know about you, but, it accommodate the capacity for my family, quiet operating, I don't even feel it at night. And, most importantly, it runs really economically. Unfortunately the temporary ‘fix’ didn’t work and we were left without a working fridge and facing another 5-10 more days before the parts would arrive in addition to however many weeks it might take to get the technician to return. We also didn’t have any confidence that the replacement parts would solve the issue, given the temporary fix didn’t work as expected.
Our request to Haier to have the technician come back asap seemingly fell into a black hole as our case was hand-balled from department to department, with no-one seeming to care or accept any responsibility for helping us resolve the issue in a reasonable timeframe.
When it became clear that Haier wouldn’t or couldn’t help us, we requested they approve store credit with the Good Guys so that we could organise a replacement fridge ourselves. Even this seemingly simple request was met with inexplicable delays and as of now, we are still waiting. The Good Guys have been very sympathetic and understanding but they can’t do much until Haier process the store credit.
I would think twice about this brand unless you like mouldy food, bad hold music and living out of a esky.
Looks great, but probably the most annoying fridge I've owned – This fridge is good on paper, but it has some really major issues. The doors themselves are quite clunky to open and close. The water dispenser seems like a good idea but it doesn't hold much water and runs out very quickly. The touch screen is also fairly easy to accidentally activate. Overall the fridge is ok, it is super quiet, keeps food cool and stays clean and is fairly robust. I bought it to fit a space and it does that perfectly, but it annoys me on a daily basis so I couldn't really recommend.

I enjoy it every day! – This has been the surprise purchase this year. 2nd tier brand (they own Fisher and Paykel) that punches above weight. Great features, wide vegetable bin is great, you can actually store full-size celery. Chilled water is a bonus. The freezer has useful storage drawers too.
