Our site supervisor, Ian, has also been wonderful to work with. We received consistent weekly updates, and he has always been thorough, approachable, and easy to communicate with. It’s clear he genuinely cares about delivering a quality home.

We’ve also been impressed by the workmanship of the trades. On the few occasions we met them, they spoke very highly of Hallmark and shared how much they enjoy working with the company. That pride definitely shows in their attention to detail and the overall finish of our home.

The communication from the Hallmark team was exceptional, with timely reports and plenty of pictures as the build progressed. The only issue we experienced was a damaged data cable conduit. One phone call to Hallmark and the contractors had it repaired the next day. We're very happy with the overall cost of our home and can't believe how spacious the rooms are. Leanne & I from the very outset with Tom Lennen (the Salesman) felt not only comfortable but confident in the assurances he gave us about Hallmark. Things like the requirement for you and all sales people to send the prospective design and offer directly to the owner of Hallmark no matter the time of day or the day of the week. You talked about us being able to relax in respect of concerns we might have had with so many building companies collapsing with monotonous regularity. You assured us of Hallmarks solid ownership of all display homes and the fact they were solidly cashed up and in no way at risk of financial failure. For the record for whoever reads this we had our first home designed and priced by Tom for another company that Tom worked for and we can confirm that he completed this design and pricing under the Hallmark banner with the same excellence as was previously demonstrated. So remember the name Tom Lennen of Hallmark. He is one of the best. As for the processes and communication for our entire build. They could not have been better, from Steven our Supervisor to each of the staff from the office including Lisa, Karen, Caitlyn, Chloe, Paulette,Janine & Liz each person completed their task with a minimum of fuss to a perfect finish. As our home was handed over within the contracted build time we can truthfully say not one thing went wrong and the finishes are great. Yes we are elated with the result and that's why we are expressing this very favourable view of Hallmark so that other prospective buyers can have the confidence we had and enjoy the experience. In times of so many negatives surrounding the building industry I can honestly say the communication has been something Hallmark has excelled at. From some minor tweaks in the design process all the way through to the any result. All variations were handled well and the team was upfront about the cost throughout the entire process. The site Supervizer rushed me thru my final walk thru and made me feel like I was an inconvenience for wanting to look at things properly the house was filthy when we received the keys, when bringing up scratched and chipped cupboards I was told it was my own fault for picking black. Less then a month living in the house and the oven breaks I try to bring the issue up and I’m just passed off as someone else’s problem the site supervisor gives me an email address and says to email them with any issues no apologies or sympathy for the issue. I attempted to email them and the email just bounces back. I have a door that dose not open/close properly a shower that leaks missing grout between bricks and who knows how long I will now be without an oven for. The oven broke just before Christmas so I now have hundreds of dollars of food that will go to waste as I am unable to cook it and am left with out any food for our Christmas dinner.

The contractors they use have been with them for a long time which speaks volumes and they know what they are doing. Handover was 2 weeks before Xmas 2021 and exactly the day that was promised. 6 month defect review completed, only a couple of minor issues. This company is faultless.

home is terrifying and stressful but Hallmark know what they're doing, they're very organised and they produce a quality product. They're not the cheapest but they're not the dearest either. I can honestly say that their homes really are value for money. What we paid for and what we got was exactly what we wanted. They're transparent and also a financially secure building company which is so reassuring at the moment. We felt, that although we were building in probably one of the most difficult times for the building industry, Our build supervisor & the Hallmark team never let us down. The communication & professionalism throughout the build was second to none. We feel the team went over & above what we expected & can not thank our supervisor enough. He made the build process quite an easy one & helped remove any stresses from us as clients.

Communication was spot on! He followed up on everything we asked and always kept us in the loop. He explained all the paperwork thoroughly and was always on top of getting things signed and submitted within the required timeframe. As a single, first home builder, I have been so grateful for the constant communication and friendliness from Milton. Not only has he kept me updated every step of the way until now, he has always been only too willing to answer any of my question and/or concerns. There has been very little delay so far with my build, although I know there will be with the brick laying soon. Again, Milton has been completely transparent about this so although it’s disappointing of course, I don’t have unrealistic expectations. I know I can’t speak to the final quality of the build just yet but I have been impressed so far with the quality of work completed. Words cannot express the exceptional service from them both. The worst customer experience of my life – I started my build with Hallmark Homes in February of this year and construction is still no where near completed. I have spoken to my site supervisor only a handful of times, all contact having been initiated by me. which I’ve been told are industry-wide yet other builders in my estate/street have not been impacted and houses that began construction AFTER me have since been completed. It appears that these issues are specific to Hallmark and their selected suppliers/trades and the paying customers are the ones who suffer. I have made multiple attempts to reach out to Hallmark to discuss my frustrations but am constantly met with the same old “industry delays” excuses and have yet to be given a PCI or handover date despite my commencement letter stating practical completion would be on or before October 8th. I would never recommend Hallmark to anyone looking to build, it simply isn’t worth the stress or frustration and I look forward to the day I never have to deal with them again.

journey started like this. We were first home buyers and we started with analysing around 10 builders for 5-6 months. Then narrowed downed to 5, then to 3. Some builder’s agents said they cannot do anything before making a deposit. Some other builders laid traps like, “pay the deposit today, or tomorrow there going to be a 10,000$ price rise”. (How can we pay a deposit even knowing what plan we get?) The top 1& 2 builders said they don’t have a plan to fit to our block with 4 bedrooms and media. Our land was 380m2, 12.5 wide 31m long. But build dimensions were 10.5x20.5 due to corner land with some taper. Hallmark was one of that last filtered two had plans that fit to land which is their manly 200. At first, we spoke with the agent at display, and told we are happy with manly 200 design and wanted how it can fit to our block. We sent our land survey plans and few days after we received emailed response that this layout cannot fit, and we must drop manly 200. We were civil engineers by profession, and I draw the manly 200 in AutoCAD and was pretty sure it can fit with some modifications and not sure why the agent did not bother. So, we thought to try another agent at hallmark and put our message to hallmark general chat. That is where we found this amazing professional individual Jonathan Zeng. He did so many modifications and dedicated a lot to make every change we asked and never mentioned to pay a deposit until we are happy with the plan and quote. I think we met him personally 3-4 times, called so many times and exchanged emails more than 50. All this went more that 2-3 months as we were comparing 3 builder plans and quotes. In all the communications, he was professional and honest. After dealing with so many agents, we knew all the traps they lay, and we never felt he laid any to get us to their business. Also, he was very patient and listened to all the opinions we provide. Most flexible to work with. Then we asked him to check another plan as well and he made all these commitments and changes to that plan too. The other best thing is the transparency he provided. We were a couple that analyse everything deep specially because it is the industry we know of, and mostly must be a pain to agents. But we have never felt a negative feeling from Jonathan throughout the journey. If he doesn’t know something, he is honestly mention it and get to his managers and provide a response at earliest. He was always reachable and fast in replying. Never had to send a reminder mail to get some information. At last, we got a plan and quote from hallmark and Simonds similar to each other in price and layout wise. But we had to drop hallmark due to the price lock period hallmark provided was 6 months and Simonds provided 12 months+ a slight price margin. In that case also, Jonathan discussed it with his top management to get us that plus some other benefits. But it was out of his hand and something top management should decide. As the prices are increasing rapidly these days, we had to sadly depart from Jonathan’s professional service due to that price lock 12 month and our land is to be registered around 7 months after. Simonds also provided this for us to get more business as the other states are impacted with covid. It was a situational thing and otherwise we would have gone with hallmark even disregarding slight price margin. So, if anyone looking to build their home, I recommend getting service from Jonathan Zeng hallmark. If you are not going to hallmark, at least consider his proposal as an option to compare and you might go with him when you get impressed with the professional, transparent service provided. Update on our build So not only does the Sitesupervisor give a dam now we checked the work they had done. Painters did a terrible job so that he has to come back to fix a lot if things. Tiler has not sealed the corners in the shower or bath tub and the grout needs fixing too. We have a hole in the wall which they where going to place a light switch in and changed there mind. Light was smashed when they installed it but they still hang it... Final walk thru in 8 day
